  1. OK so I’m FINALLY getting round to fitting this. Anyone got some advise/pics on getting the switch module out without damaging the trim?
  2. I love the Trinity’s; they look fab when they’re clean. One of them has worm just starting so that’ll have to be fixed.
  3. Well weirdly, I noticed our 280 has an open grill on the NS and a closed one on the OS! 🤷🏻🙃
  4. Never going to envy you cleaning those boogers. 😳
  5. Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. If your phone is too big, then the loop won’t connect anyway. If it fits but it’s also got a case on it, that will also degrade the signal and in any event, I’ve never noticed an improvement in signal with the handset housed in the phone box or when it’s outside the phone box and using CarPlay etc.. Our 280 does not have a SIM card slot; not sure if this is standard in the U.K. or if it could be specified at build.
  6. Get a long USB lead and problem solved. However, in my experience, the signal isn’t improved that much. There’s a weak area in a couple of places on a road locally and having the phone connected to the car makes no difference to the dropouts whatsoever.
  7. I’m guessing they’re the oil and transmission rads. Probably due to the warmer climate down under. Mind you we’ll probably have the same climate in 5 years…
  8. Really? SWMBO 2003 MKI Facelift Ford Focus has just had the AC regassed for the first time since we bought it at 9 months old. It was at 20%. We never regassed our MKI Superb in 12 years and it was as cold as ice. On the other hand, I had the 280 regassed at 7 years old as it was making some weird sounds. And it’s now doing the same again, so it’s back to the specialist again….🙄
  9. Thanks MatriniB. 👍🏻
  10. Thanks! Yeah, I like that. 👍🏻 Is just self adhesive? What size did you finally use?
  11. Interested in what this is Martini?
  12. Enjoy the F Type. Double the output should be interesting!
  13. Ahh, so it’s an estate/tourer version? If so, I can’t help, but someone will post the info for you, I am sure.
  14. On which model? If it’s the Superb, it can be popped off the pipe.
  15. Yep, but that’s the case with most analogue gear, especially reel to reel decks. I paid more than the original cost price to recap our Mums 1971 TEAC AS200S amp a couple of years ago. And you have to take into account the value of the item now too. The TD1200ii is worth around £1,200. Cost me £400 IIRC. Works fine when the voltage it stable; you get a drop and it goes nuts. Ultimately, it was more trouble than it was worth tbh (the Pioneer and Sharp units I had were far more reliable and just as good in the limiting sound arena of a car!) but I’m keeping it for the sake of nostalgia.
  16. You miss CD’s? I miss my Nakamichi TD1200 Cassette Deck!
  17. Just wish the actual nav system was a bit better, albeit the 3D look would be nice. ☹️
  18. I kinda guessed you must’ve been up ‘n’ down the Emerald Isle; absolutely amazed, because…. 😳Have you seen the state of most of the roads in Ireland?? You need…. 1/ 🏀s and an a#@e of steel and 2/ a really well made car to survive 650,000 and 400,000kms of Irish roads respectively! 👍🏻
  19. And when do you sleep?
  20. 400,000km?? Amazing. 👍🏻
  21. Those days have well and truly gone. I’d be surprised if they even apologised for the inconvenience they actually caused; 95% of main dealers are shameful.
  22. It doesn’t. The MK3 have a much newer range of engines. Anything between 1000 and 3000 miles for a litre of oil would be considered “normal”. Some owners say their 2.0 220/280 petrol use a litre of oil over the the same mileage, yet ours doesn’t seem to use anything. Both are normal.
  23. Pleased it’s sorted. Did you have it overfilled by the same dealer? If so I presume they didn’t charge you today? In any event, that’s a school person error; no vehicle should ever be overfilled in 2023, especially by a main dealer - the damage to the engine and ancillaries can be significant.
  24. Anymore information you can offer would be great?
