  1. Bit too heavy on the sub/bass for my liking JR, but the mid and treble are about the same as mine and no “muffled” sound. .
  2. And there’s your problem. Try adjusting the treble to +3, mid to +3 and lower bass to +1.
  3. Canton is the best standard ICE I’ve had in any car I’ve owned or driven. The midrange is especially good, so I can only think there’s something wrong with the amp.
  4. The comfort on the 19” rims is dependent on the tyres fitted. I had OE Pirelli P7 and they were harsh and noisy. I now have Conti All Season and the harshness and noise have disappeared.
  5. OK, so stuff the £69 for the single US one, I just ordered 8 of the springs from Ali. Of course they maybe crap but it’s worth a punt. I don’t have the issue at present, but seems it’s likely one will break.
  6. Now THAT would be worth something today, Lee!
  7. Sorry….😔 Ahhhh… makes complete sense. Many thanks @Tell👍🏻 I’ve no doubt MIB2 will be dropped in a couple of years too.
  8. So, stupid question. Why has the update file shrunk from 29gb'ish to 14?
  9. If I drop down or go up a gear, coasting stops.
  10. The 6 speed only coasts in Eco, a soon as you lift off the throttle. I tend to use it all the time as it does make a small difference to the MPG.
  11. Ahhhhh..... Yep. It's one of those "special" DSG's, which VAG put in very few cars, which is the sentient version, so it tweaks itself and adapts to your driving style, knows your birthday and likes to fool you now and again; it's learnt you really want the Eco coast mode and has dropped it in to surprise you! No idea - it's a feature I thought was only on the 6 speed DSG's (I'm guessing yours is 7 Speed?) so nice one!
  12. I had OE Pirelli P7’s on the 280 (they seem to’ve been the standard fit on early 280’s) and they were the noisiest tyres I can recall having on a car. I changed these 23 months ago for Conti All Season. Apart from being as good in terms of performance to the P7 in the dry, they’re much better in the wet and, the most noticeable difference is the silence; I estimate they’re at least 70% quieter. Oh, and after 9k there is barely any noticeable wear which makes them even better.
  13. I would urge you to get the battery replaced asap. I didn’t heed the same warnings you’ve got and it failed… when we were in Southern Ireland… we live in Surbiton!
  14. It is an L&K, but for the life of me, I simply cannot believe that VAG would have 1/2 a function disabled on what was an option on all models below SE-L in 2015/16.
  15. Errrrr. Mine does. Stay within a few feet of the hatch, then press and hold the button on the key and down it goes, accompanied with the usual bleeping. I think perhaps you need to try being closer to the hatch? And the virtual pedal works to close as well as open the hatch too.
  16. Probably because it looks like you have to carry out the procedure in a darkened room!
  17. It cost me £1k to have it fixed and, of course, there is every possibility it’ll go again. There has been at least 2 successful Class Actions in the States against VW for the EA888 water pump issues, the latest being in 2023 for the MK7 Golf. The payout is circa $1.1k for a replacement or rectification and upto $5k for a replacement unit (short engine I presume). Of course, it only applies to the USA, because no other territories has these issues..🙄
  18. The problem is Mike doesn’t know which button that is!
  19. 😳 FM!! They did rectify the cable run, but it doesn’t bear thinking about…
  20. What did they charge to fit that for you? A friend had his fitted by Halfords and he noticed part of the cable was protruding from the NS curtain airbag trim, which was also bulging somewhat, so he took it back. Another older “technician” looked at it, removed the trim and they’d tucked the excess cable in front of the NS curtain airbag but they couldn’t force it all in there so they left a bit hanging out!
  21. Ahhhh, right, so a different wheel. I’d look in the Owners Manual, Mike.
  22. Sorry Mike, I obviously wasn’t clear enough. It is the button with the telephone handset shape on it which I’ve circled below, I was referring to, not the scroll wheel.
  23. TBH I don’t know if you have this wheel or not, but touching this - twice I think - ends a current call.
