I’m not surprised it’d make much difference on a that type of drive, as the engine / gearbox are at optimal everything for a long period. I’d regularly get 60+ on the old MKI with a 110 mile round trip on 95% motorway.

On my ridiculously short commute, I get between 12 and 15% better mpg using eco than I do with normal mode. Nothing scientific, just using the mpgomonitor.

Ahhhh, right, a sort of hissing/whistling? Does it make the sound when the car is stationary and you Rev the engine?

Same here in this weather. Upto 70 within a mile and 90 1/4 mile later. At 0c it’s around 2.5 miles to get to 90.

The full undertray is not a standard fitment. I think it’s only fitted to territories which has challenging terrain. I recall a member bought and fitted one, but can’t remember who. EDIT… It was JR RS in Oz

Yeah, that’ll probably be because the diesel needs more cranking umph due to the high CR than a petrol so little, if anything, to do with price. Just like tyres, manufacturers pay a fixed rock-bottom price for all specs of batteries.

I had our OE battery replaced when it finally died in October with a RAC branded Varta Silver Dynamic AGM 570 901 076 battery. Very slightly more powerful but at least it should be fine for the next few years.

Actually AS could remove the front of your car, extend it by 25cm and then install a 289 Windsor V8. He’s already stated he’s installed a number of front sensors; he’s your “goto” man.

With the experience I’ve had with these, I’ll be sticking with All Seasons. There brilliant in the dry, wet and on snow, which I encountered on my first month of ownership.

The Conti All Seasons I’ve had on for 18m now are great. They’ve covered about 7.5k and are still as quiet as they were new and there is no perceptible wear, but I do drive “sedately”.

I think they didn’t bother trying to regas it or didn’t have the expertise to regas it that day, or both and finally they’d rip you off by replacing parts that were not required. And hands up all those who really thinks a dealership would never do number 4. Well, it’s happened to me on more than one occasion at two Skoda dealers, once with a wheel bearing the Octavia and two parking sensors the MKI Superb. Neither of these dealers are still in business.

So the AC is t working at all? They probably inadvertently emptied it when they tried to regass it! As you have a service plan, I’d suggest another dealer, but I know they’re few and far between in NI. If you can find a reputable AC engineer I’d use them, however I’ve used my local Kwik-Fit to regass the wife’s MKI Focus (after Halfords said the compressor or the clutch or the condenser or the gas was “wrong”) and last week, my son’s Merc CLK500 and on both occasions they did a fast, efficient job.

Bullllllllshiiiiiiiit! How would they know without testing the system? I had all that nonsense a couple of years ago (from a so-called AC expert btw!) and it was identified very quickly at the excellent indy I use, as joint leak on the top pipe to the condenser.
