Fuel consumption (again?)
Being a demi-god in that department myself, I didn't need to tick that option

Fuel consumption (again?)
I ran a can of 'on-car' DPF cleaner through the car today. Shared for info; I make no claims, make your own conclusions, these are just my seat of the pants findings; The can is emptied into the o2 sensor, you let it soak for a while, the 5 mins at tickover, 5 mins at 2500rpm - then a decent test drive. It stopped smoking after about 5 miles. The instructions suggest the DPF is recalibrated. Driving it? It feels like it's breathing a lot more easily, I can feel there is more torque when accelerating gently and it seems to coast further in gear I will certainly try this again, I feel there are more gains available but I'll use a different make next time as it wasn't much fun spraying the stuff into a DPF that was at operating temperature.

Glow plug warning light flashing
Turn it off then back on again, I usually do this while the car is still coasting - the glow plug light then goes out. My 1.6tdi would go into limp mode under 2k rpm.

@Stingray30 The glow plug light, and limp mode would come on about 20 times on my 15v mile commute to work. I would cycle the ignition and carry on until the next occurance. I did find that clearing out the stored error codes regularly with a handy Carista lengthened the times between limp mode activations.

@Stingray30 See if you can borrow a vacuum kit, you can check for vacuum leaks and also see whether the actuator is moving fully before forking out on a new part.

Fuel consumption (again?)
You'll notice tickover at around 1000rpm for a while before it goes back to normal

Roomster requires some additions and help
Nice car! To try and answer one of your questions; Satnav stereo - I fitted a VW RNS310 to my 2007 Roomie Scout which was canbus 1.6 (like early T5's) so although it worked perfectly with 32gb of music on an SD card and the nav disc in the CD slot it wouldn't show navigation directions on the maxidot because of the canbus compatibility however, I think the later versions are 2.0 so a similar unit may fully integrate - you may just need a new stereo surround and a plug in fakra GPS module. It's great upgrade. Cruise and fog lights came fitted to my Roomie as standard, I just never used them!

Glow plug warning light flashing
@Stingray30 Perhaps you should try a request on the VCDS forum for someone local to scan your car? Lots of Brisky members with VCDS will scan your car for a drink, and will probably be knowledgeable to point you in the right direction with whatever the issue is.

Depends what diagnostic equipment they have, VCDS is VAG group only ... and a lot depends upon the ability of the mechanic to translate what the codes say into the correct action.

Glow plug warning light flashing
There seems to be a lot of speculation on this thread, I fail to understand why VAG owners don't simply buy a genuine VCDS cable (start at approx £225) and get a proper scan with real error codes rather than try to interpret generic codes. Every tdi owner must know by now that a glow plug error light is simply a cover for a multitude of errors which can only be identified by a VCDS scan ... or you could continue to throw funds at random parts until you luck on the correct part.

Apparently as each is controlled by an embedded chip, reconditioning is seen as a waste of money, better in the long run to buy new

Fuel filter problems, again !
So, before attempting to fix the issue this morning I revisited my page from last year when I had the same problem. This morning, I vented the filler cap, then locked and unlocked the car and this time the lift pump activated for much longer - and the car started on 2nd attempt ! *expletive deleted*

Instrument cluster part numbers
It's the last 3 numbers that really count and state whether you have low, mid or highline clocks. For my 2010 Yeti I have 940 waiting to retrofit

Fuel filter problems, again !
What is it about the 1.6tdi that causes an issue whenever the fuel filter needs changing? I have changed the filter on multiple 1.9tdi and 2.0tdi engines with no issues at all, yet every time I change it on my 1.6tdi it will not start afterwards! This time the filter bowl was only opened a small amount when I realised ECP had supplied the wrong filter, and immediately I closed it up again ... yet no matter what I try; cycle the ignition and activating the fuel transfer pump with VCDS for minutes at a time it will NOT start.

A couple of issues with a Roomster.....
These are the headlamps that move as you turn into a corner maximising your view ahead, adaptive I think the phrase is. I would recommend a VCDS scan to see what the issue is, the error may have been fixed and the code simply needs erasing.

Yeti rear hub removal.
Probably the same as the Octavia, this may help

Carista error message
I had a low fuel pressure error on my old Touran during a VCDS scan for another matter, it ran ok without obvious problems so I was advised to check all the 'quick and cheap' fixes before shelling out on expensive parts. Cleaned, and with error codes erased it ran ok afterwards and never returned.

Carista error message
Might be worth checking the fuel tank lift pump for debris too, it's only a 10 minute job.

Soot increase during forced regen
New injector fitted and coded today - what a difference ! Fuel economy is immediately up, but oddly the car no longer 'feels' remapped. A regen is due in the next 100 miles or so, that will be the acid test.
