  1. I was lucky a few years ago when I got mine, of course cheaper times. If you are happy with the light from your current W5W LED's (can be coded to get rid of the warning) You can of course just locate a basic holder and fit. I did some googling earlier, did find some of these around at more sensible prices, but of course shipping needed to be added. The light from the factory LED's did look better IMHO as they aimed down just right. You would not really be pulling apart to replace, should last for years. EDIT: If you check this link out, it does show this line of text - "LED lighting for your number plate as a replacement only for the 5N0 943 021 B" And they label the part number as 000 052 110 - this is another label for the LED units. https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/000052110-led-number-plate-lights-25075.html VAG and their part labelling is often like this. UK Supplier? £12 each https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/products/led-license-plate-light

  3. In my above message, the car had sat for almost a whole year because of Covid lockdown. Was your car used less during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic? I think a lot of cars suffered from being used so little.
  4. Funny a mechanic friend I talked to the other day was saying about a case he is dealing with right now. It was a car used as a Taxi, but that's not always relevant. That engine was sucking in diesel, therefore overfilling the engine. It's an ongoing fault, and I am getting updates, not cheap on the wallet job.
  5. The cheapest solution would be to find the key, but that's not going to happen. You can try to see if some nice soul has bothered to actually hand the key into a Police Station, but with so many in London, the odds are you won't locate it. Not sure if your car insurance will cover you for lost keys, or your home insurance... worth a check. You might be able to get a key from an independant garage (non dealer) for a little less, but not much I would say.
  6. Can you explain what you mean by "tried cleaning the DPF recently" I had a DPF issue recently, on a car I recently aquired. Soot was below threshold of no return, (low 20's) but doing a static regeneration of around 40 minutes, could not get the soot below 15g, it hit a 'brick wall' so to speak. This was after a 120 mile run, and not hanging about, strong acceleration etc. Took it do a great friend with a garage, and he added some DPF cleaner down the DPF pressure sensor tube before the DPF Rev to 2,500 for a bit, then off Anyhow after more flushing/filling revving, it was put back together (DPF sensor) And I then performed a static regen... this time it actually completed in a sensible fashion. End result, it dropped down from a previous limit of 15g, to 2g.
  7. That kinda reminds me... Tomorrow we are eating spaghetti. Progress is being made I see, some learning curve for sure.
  8. AZO 800 001 = Adaptor for media in harness IPOD 5N0 035 558 = Same or USB (cannot see exactly at the moment)
  9. I think you will find that the G450 DPF sensor has 2x pipes coming off it, one will be routed before DPF, the other will be in the exhaust post DPF. So it will be reading the value of the pressure between the 2x locations, meaning in your case you have a blocked DPF, and if you are at 45g of soot, I don't think you can even do a static regeneration.
  10. Coupling station on left A-pillar 4 - 17-pin connector -T17a You could splice into this location. If you have a continuity test on your multimeter, you could ping from this location to your gateway pins, if circuit pings as complete, then you can wire in your cables there (at least the 2 you was mentioning)
  11. Unless my brain is shot to pieces, reading the wiring diagram all wrong, you could connect the 2x wires to t17a - black connector. Issue is you are going to be getting in deep end, so unless you are entirely happy with this process, you may want to stop or get someone else to take over (if you are not confident
  12. 5N0943021B 1K9943021D will be what's fitted. The two part numbers just written are interchangeable as VAG share parts amongst the group. They should be £17.12 inc VAT at official prices, and they take a bog standard W5W bulb. I guess you were talking about adding your own LED's, for W5W bulb type? Choice number 2 is to go directly to LED, and have the advantage of these that are build for the task, they fire down the beam nicely onto the plate. Either solution would both need coding to the car, and save you faffing about with so called CANbus friend W5W LED bulbs Google 3AF 943 021 A (may have to remove the spaces) and see what better prices you can get.
  13. @matrix2020 Did the police caution your car, read it's rights etc? Jokes aside, hopefully you didn't have an accident with the car behind. I think you hit the nail on the head with regards to journalist's not wanting to bite the hand that ultimately feeds them, and often their road tests are on tracks or cherry picked roads where they are unlikely to turn on those features. I could write volumes about VAG and software bugs, I deal with them quite often.
  14. Bingo! Yes this is a cracking little car, if in the wrong gear it's gutless of course, but that's going to be a driver issue. My son was trying to drive up a hill in 3rd, but was not used to the weight of the car, and had to change gears, sadly being a learner he bogged down 2nd and had to come to a full stop. A stronger engine would have pulled him up the hill of course, but that's cars for you. Given the cost of fuel these days, the 1.6TDI is the sweet spot, and is not a slouch by any means.
  15. Yes of course, can you please specify your Country so I can allow access (Private message if you wish)
  16. I only recently picked up a 2015 Octavia Estate with 1.6TDI and 6-speed manual. Goes alright if you are in the correct gear like most cars. On the flat at 62mph cruise control (60 in real) it will show around 75mpg. I would make sure to get one with less than 150k on the clock, as like most diesel cars with a DPF, you are looking at a new exhaust probable around 200-220k miles in my own estimations. Shame this was not a year from now, as not planning to keep the car, as it was brought to teach my son how to drive and not much other driving.
  17. All good, correct firmare on the way
  18. I shall send you a PM in next 5 minutes or less with a link/instructions.
  19. Can you confirm if your Software Train is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0468T? If it is, then MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T is available.
  20. I think I used to stick the car on Low for a few minutes, especially if it's sat in the sun and the interior has heated up. Then dial temp back up to usual values. Nothings build like old systems.
  21. Version 0480 is available. As for reading Asian map's, I have no experience of that. @pab567Will probably know the answer to that.
  22. VCDS User Locations Checking close to you, there are 2x people close to Ossett/Wakefield... but have not been online for almost 2 years. I am in Huddersfield with VCDS Can-Hex, as is another user.
  23. Hope the dealer can assist, but who knows what mood they will be in. I think I did see the aircon issue, but didn't wan't to wade into a subject I don't know too much about. Some experience of course, but not a whole lot. Modern A/C is pants compared to some of the older cars, some you could cryogenically freeze anything with.
  24. Nobody can legally share you the documents. You should make an account on erWin Skoda, and you can then download the document yourself for a small fee. https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do Scrolling to the very bottom... It will probably be useful to grab all the documents from this list, as it has repair information in the files.
