  1. The fancy high beam gizmo is great - dread to think how much it’ll cost to fix if it goes wrong out of warranty.
  2. I've got a 280 and never ever seen 'coasting'.........
  3. I don't know then - I thought accelerating for a little way was what I do - not easy to check as it only happens occasionally - I find the whole ACC thing a little unrefined, I appreciate the way it slows you down appropriately when entering lower speed limits but hate the way it sets off with great urgency when you leave a lower limit - if I go into a 30mph area with 45mph set I want to go back up to 45mph as I exit but as soon as the 60mph sign is recognised we are off, on our way to 60 in double quick time - why can't the system remember my set speed?
  4. I think I just accelerate in those circumstances........?
  5. I see one of the gripes about the Kamiq was the lack of physical fan control, looks to have been sorted but can the same be said for the latest 2 zone climate models? There is no info on the Kamiq site and my dealer can't / won't say either way. Anyone?
  6. Just been looking earlier at new Karoq specs myself and the instrument cluster available on the SEL is not at all clear in the brochure also.........
  7. My 2022 Superb will accelerate when I indicate and pull out - it seems respond fairly soon after pulling out and without checking it might even start before I've pulled out - I don't have the distance set to 'close', it has about 25 mtrs gap.
  8. That’s the long and short of it, hanging on a hook. The newer Kessy fobs aren’t at serious risk inasmuch as they, allegedly, have a motion sensor and close themselves down.
  9. Had a new Karoq in 2019 - the Kessy fob battery failed at 20 months. My Superb is almost 20 months old and the battery failed today. I'd have thought the new style 'motion sensing' fobs would last longer, especially given that the Superb hardly ever gets used and the fob hangs on a hook untouched? My Golf fob, now in its 14th year, has never had a battery replaced.
  10. Yes, I've a debadged 280 estate in white and I've noticed, especially on motorways, vehicles coming up at a pace and then suddenly tuck in behind me at a distance - takes me back to the late 80's when I had a 2.8 Granada in base dark blue with steel wheels, same thing used to happen.
  11. Yes Gabbo, both ACC and road sign recognition - so question answered, thanks. Curious I've never noticed before. However that throws up another query; I like the ACC but I don't want to be flying about at the maximum permissible speed limit, especially on 60mph trunk roads - I know (and do) knock it down 5 -10mph on the stalk but it's a continuous irritation as every time I exit a 30MPH zone the car is off like a rampant horse. Is there some way of limiting the speed without the need to knock it down manually every time?
  12. I've done a search but nothing comes up, possibly due to the fact I don't know what to search for. Anyway, starting today - never seen it before, I've been getting a small speed limit symbol, red circle - white background with MPH in the circle. It only pops up now and again in the lane keeping / following a car matrix, bottom centre of screen, and it only stays for about 5 seconds, thus I haven't got a picture. As I say, it's only started (or I've only just noticed it) today after 18 months of ownership. Any knowledge anyone?
  13. I wonder how many people with powered hatches have forgotten themselves and suffered tailgate damage in multi-storey car parks? I once 'dinged' the tailgate on a new Mondeo in a car park in Stuttgart by just opening and letting go.
  14. This comment doesn’t help or apply to the OP’s vehicle but honestly, the powered tailgate is a β€˜convenience’ I could happily do without - any long term ownership or used purchase is ultimately going to result in £££’s being spent on the damn thing………
  15. Is it not the speed limit when wet / raining?
  16. Had my dealer on the phone wanting to book my Superb in for 2 recalls - the rear door strut mountings and 'Lane Assist' update. Now I know about the struts but whats the problem with 'Lane assist', anyone?
  17. They are quite near to me - bought a used Honda Jazz from him 2 years ago for an elderly friend - seemed very straight and honourable - this time last year (MOT time) I couldn't find* the locking wheel nut key and despite it being a year since the purchase he was prepared to sort it, as you say Graham, he's one of the good guys. *As it happened, the locking key was exactly where he said it was, in the glove box but Jazz have a secret upper glove box and mug here wasn't looking in the right place!
  18. No dashboard button for me just the regular clicky catch on the flap?
  19. I sympathise Graham. Van drivers give me the hump too - I've got three of 'em parking outside my property, 2 x Openreach and 1 x Metworks and the owners all live on the next street and two of 'em are supersized Sprinter types with ladders on the roof. Because of difficult drainage and limited driveway space I prefer to wash my Superb on the road but unless I can get back before the vans arrive I'm thwarted. What really winds me up is when the jokers go away for a week or two and leave their own driveway empty and their bloody great commercials parked outside me. 😠
  20. Not easy to relate the scenario at the times it happened inasmuch as it only started doing this on a long motorway run this last Saturday and as it all manifests so suddenly / quickly my attention is almost fully diverted to cancelling the auto braking and checking the situation behind. However, I do recall one instance where I was in lane 2.
  21. I get that on any road where the car in front peels off to the left - this motorway quirk is something different.
  22. My adaptive cruise has started seeing problems (on motorways) that don't exist. When passing a exit slip road it will often decide that I've taken the exit and apply the brakes as if I'm about to come to the end of the slip. Doesn't happen at all junctions - maybe 20% of them. I know that a little pictorial diagram does pop up a few moments before the braking but it's pure chance that I might spot it as it's only on screen for 3 seconds or so. Anyone else experienced this?
  23. Interesting - could you pass on a little more detail please ApertureS.........
  24. I'd think you have to do a full factory reset on the infotainment system......'Car - Settings - Factory Settings'.
