  1. Jeez, who knew, so that's what Genesis main songwriter and keyboardist is up to these days. Still making beautiful music then...
  2. The carrier can't be the same with different diameter discs.
  3. Why would you bother, FS3 have larger discs which means better brakes, the calipers themselves are almost identical.
  4. A car ceases to be a car when the engine blows. Saw a really nice looking 2009 Octy estate recently adorning some poor sods driveway with an unfixable 2.0 TSI lump that had liquidised its innards, he wanted a grand for it, which is a lot for a front garden ornament!
  5. I think the OP is talking about the TDI, never mind that you're only one electronics failure away from grenading your engine 😱
  6. I seriously doubt anyone bothers making a performance exhaust system for the 1.2, you'll probably have to get one made if you wanna be noisy but you might be able to adapt the existing system to allow fitment of a cherry bomb back box if you're determined to make your car a plod 🧲
  7. You'll need to get the DTC read, guessing will get you nowhere slowly.
  8. No, it could be that rainwater running through the scuttle is picking up oil residue before draining under the car.
  9. How would someone know what car to go and steal even if they did find the lost keys? It's not really a realistic risk.
  10. The usual solution to your issue with the methanol injection is to use a piggyback programmable interceptor ECU, this can also control nitrous etc.
  11. They're foglights, hence why they don't make good driving lights. LED bulbs are much weaker than the halogen bulbs so you won't improve them, only make them worse. You'll be glad of them if you ever have to drive in the dark, foggy conditions they were designed for.
  12. Yes, a bad lambda probe would do it and wouldn't give you a code either.
  13. It won't be the MAP sensor anyway, I'd be looking for an air leak, switching on the aircon simply tells the ECU to increase the idle to compensate for the additional parasitic load which is done with the throttle body servo motor plus additional fuel injected. I think yours is leaning off excessively.
  14. Just a thought, did you replace the fork when you did the clutch? When I had mine done recently it came with a new fork because the originals bend over the lifetime of the clutch.
  15. The hose is trying to straighten under pressure, it's normal.
  16. Try getting a price on a VAG genuine kit, the tensioner is of superior quality to the aftermarket parts and most of the cost is the investment of time in the labour to do the work, you'll need locking tools as well if you're going to DIY.
  17. INA and SKF make the idlers and tensioners, no idea which belts they use in their kits though. Gates make belts, the belt is the really important bit.
  18. The result will be a plod magnet and it'll sound like an asthmatic hippopotamus farting while charging, only much slower...
  19. The head won't be cracked but will need skimming, not much point putting radseal in it if the HG needs replacing, its a cheap and easy job to DIY and replacing the radiator while the head's away being skimmed will be much easier, replace the thermostat at the same time.
  20. Nope, just checking gearbox oil level will tell you if the seals leaking yet.
  21. I'd put up with it, which Fabia have you got?
