  1. Yes, this can be done. The instructions for the pre-facelift and facelift are different. I think it may also be different for vRS and non-vRS models. I have my facelift vRS set to use just the fog lights for CH/LH lights.
  2. The sooner legacy OEMs sort out the packing of batteries, so we can get proper saloons instead of these bloated SUV “coupés” the better. Its not an ugly car - to my eye - just completely unnecessary.
  3. I’d prefer to assign each rear light a new function of DRL. That way you don’t have numberplate lights and dash lights on all the time.
  4. The auto lights are for poor light conditions. Which shouldn’t be understood as “dark”. Low, bright sunlight can cause them to come on as that counts as poor light. They cannot detect mist, so that shouldn’t be considered. Lastly. Keep in mind that just like all other assists functions, they are there to assist you. Not fully take over. If you don’t like the decision it makes, manually override it.
  5. OBDeleven absolutely will allow you make the change. Just as it did on the Mk3. From what you’ve written, looks to me like the Mk4 is the same.
  6. I actually have memories of this being discussed at the time. I’m sure it transpired that UK models had both fitted with one activated with RoW models only having the left side fitted with a dummy on the right.
  7. Im pretty sure it’s for headlight height adjustment on cars that don’t have xenon’s or LEDs.
  8. A ‘72’ plate will be worth more than a ‘22’ plate. Try and hold out for a September registration…
  9. My Octavia doesn’t speed up when cruise is active. That’s the whole point of it, to maintain the set speed. Is “speed up” what you actually meant?
  10. Just checking, but, you don’t have a CD drive in the glove box do you that you’ve just not found yet..?
  11. Suggest you have a quick read around the different forum areas, through threads people have created asking for help after OBDeleven (and other) apps have gone tits up. Then make your decision about whether you want to go the app route, or learn how to code. By learning how to code, more people can help should something go wrong as we can ask exactly what you did and what has changed. The apps are not so transparent. There looks to be a thread on a problem app change in the Superb MK3 forum just now in fact (Dome Lights).
  12. If it's black then the contamination is tar. So a fallout remover (above) isn't going to be what you want. Although I would recommend it as your paint will have iron contamination as well, which shows as little orange specs. My recommendations are... Fallout Remover: https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carpro-iron-x - This removes all the iron contamination. It turns purple when active. Tar Remover - https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carpro-tarx - This removes the tar sports. It does not change colour. Detailing Brushes - https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-brush-set - These can be used around badges, window seals, hard to reach grill areas. Basically anywhere a mitt cannot fit. You'll need some kind of protection on the paint work after all the above. Some kind of spray on, rinse off product if you're not wanting to spend forever and a day doing it.
  13. I’d be stunned if they even got as far as paragraph 2 before deleting. But whatever makes you feel better.
  14. Left it a bit late for this, no?
  15. If memory serves, service books were no longer being issued by that point. Skoda should be able to tell you the history. Give a dealer a call. Or pop in, is probably a better option.
  16. Im thinking MY19. My MY18 retains driving mode.
  17. A double press of the lock button on the fob does this? Or maybe I’m getting confused and it deactivated the alarm totally and deadlocks.
  18. I’m sure the reason that always been given or suggested is emissions. I also believe there is no way to change the behaviour. Unless you buy an older model. My 2017 model keeps the selected driving mode.
  19. I seem to remember my dads Mazda 323 back in the day having illumination as well. A Japanese thing perhaps?
  20. I don’t think the guaranteeing at £12.5K is a good deal at all. If you sold now, you’d have c.10K, yes? (£22K - £12K). But in 12 months you’ll have c.£5K (12K - £7K)? If you want a Mk4, you’d be better selling your Mk3 now for £22K and buying a cheap runaround whilst waiting for the Mk4. IMO.
  21. I’d argue that at 3K a year, the petrol is the better option.
  22. Id strongly recommend not using the apps. Their reliability is questionable, as you’re finding out. You need to find out if the app has changed anything before trying anything else. OBDeleven does have an audit trail of changes made but I’m not sure if it’s used during an app change or just manual ones.
  23. What instructions are you using for the cornering fogs? They’re different to the pre-fl instructions. More steps from memory.
  24. Variable isn’t something that’s ever interested me. But even with that in mind, part of me still wishes I’d done it.
