  1. The three mis-matched tyres are making me uncomfortable 🄓
  2. I’d agree with both above. VCDS or OBDeleven.
  3. Lol; indeed. Brother’s at it.
  4. I’d run a quote for both tbh. I paid Ā£220 to insure my vRS this year. I’d be surprised if an SEL was that much cheaper. But I don’t know for sure. Id also test both. The vRS isn’t some rock hard, track focused weapon. I don’t find the ride bone shattering.
  5. A. Yes, I have had this. Or did have it a few years ago. From memory, a dealer installed software (or maybe firmware) update fixed the issue. B. Other than saying a software/firmware issue, no idea. I didn’t much care either, just wanted it fixed šŸ˜‚
  6. Yeah, I’d say that’s been lowered. I’m also umm-ing and ahh-ing about it having rear spacers..? Looks a nicely spec’d example. Winter pack, catching my eye.
  7. They all come with DAB and sat nav. Depending on year (post 2015 I think) they come with CarPlay/Android Auto as well. Heated seats were either a stand alone option or part of the winter pack. What to look out for. I guess servicing is the main thing. Nobody seems to have a clue what’s meant to be done and when (based on the threads I’ve seen on here). I’d personally be trying to find one on fixed time and distance servicing. Others may differ. Other than that, I don’t seem to recall much else being an issue. But wait for further replies and advice. I’ll 100% have missed something.
  8. We must have moved on from the thousands of warped discs now to glazing.
  9. For the tar, something like this… https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carpro-tarx You might as well get iron fallout whilst you’re at it so something like this… https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/carpro-iron-x I wouldn’t bother with a clay bar. You sound pretty new to this so just leave that. Two products like the above will do what you need for now. Remember and wax with something after, to protect the paint. Opt for a microfibre cloth as well over a chamois.
  10. How’s that happened? Do you drive behind gritters all the time?
  11. Yeah I got 54mpg - indicated - in my TSI vRS once. That was about 50 miles I think. Dull. And largely meaningless over the long term.
  12. Thought you were getting rid of the car? Didn’t trust it?
  13. A detailing brush and your favourite car shampoo mix will remove that as well. On the door seals, window surrounds etc. doesn’t need done weekly. Twice a year maybe. Ive tried that Wet and Forget stuff on my patio. Didn’t do anything from my experience. Maybe try again at some point.
  14. was that enough to make the light turn off?
  15. I’d think whether it looked cool or not was subjective. Falls into the same category as 4D plates for me. Tragic.
  16. I haven’t seen the 3 free services offer since I got my Mk3 Octavia back in 2014. By the time I got my second in 2017, it was down to 2 services.
  17. You’d be better checking things like fluids, tyre pressures, documentation etc. Connect would be bottom of my list to check. In fact, it wouldn’t even feature.
  18. To be fair, I’ve had Apple Maps and Google Maps do that.
  19. SC03OTT replied to tricky1138's topic in Skoda Karoq
I’d really be taking anything he said with a massive punch of salt. His silence isn’t through choice, either.
  20. I’d go Skoda gloss black. Those BMW and Audi ones are tragic.
  21. Sounds like the same condensation ā€œissueā€ that’s frequently reported on the Mk3. It’s nothing to worry about.
