  1. I saw that email come through. Umm’d and ahh’d and in the end, didn’t bother. Still not sure if tha lot was the right decision. Current plan is to keep the car until it’s at least 6 years old, currently 4.5.
  2. To be fair, I’m not really questioning the product. More who and how it will be applied. The folk that do this at the dealer will have a line of other cars to do that day. It’ll be done as quickly as possible then move on.
  3. I’d be a hard “pass” at that price. If truth be told, I wouldn’t take it at all, but I have a cupboard full of decontamination, washing, sealing etc products at home. So it’s not for me. Anyway, I think £400 is extortionate. You could go to someone who’ll know what they’re doing and also take their time doing it.
  4. “…if applied properly.” Which it probably won’t be. How much they asking for to do it?
  5. Lol. The Mk3 Octavia had 2. Of both as well (if you have the equipment to activate).
  6. It’s heavier and less powerful…
  7. Doesn’t trust it In this thread, but isn’t worried about it in the other one he posted in?
  8. Yes. I had this exact issue when I got the screen replaced in my previous Mk3. Never fixed it.
  9. Were these factory options or dealer fit options? The factory isn’t going to allow unlimited customisation. Some items are dealer fit.
  10. A quick Google and Wikipedia would suggest they are not the same class. I am willing to be educated/corrected however.
  11. Haha, I do that as well. The switches for the rears certainly fall to hand by default. The whole switch set needed shoved back a bit.
  12. Do you not have 3 keys? Use another? Ok, not a proper like for like repair solution, but meh.
  13. @CakemonsterYou can change the rain sensing wipers to just a variable intermittent sweep instead, if that’s a better option for you?

Does any manufacturer move the handbrake over for RHD markets? It’s not something I’ve ever come across.
  15. The fact you’ve bought brand new, it’s an ICE car and we’ll be what, 3 years closer to the pure ICE sales ban when you sell will hit the value far harder than a change in calendar. But hey. Opinions were asked for and you’ve made your choice. Enjoy when you pick up 👍🏻
  16. Just get it. The logic of waiting one more month falls down quickly. I mean, why not wait until Feb? Or even March? And if you’re waiting until March, you might as well wait until April…

People way overthink the excess mileage on PCP deals. You’ll only get charged if you hand the car back for one, plus excess mileage charges are pretty cheap.
  18. Have you done a reset of the infotainment unit, push and hold the power button? I get this pretty regularly. It’s my only gripe with the car. I don’t know if it’s an Apple issue or a Skoda one. I can make a quick journey with The phone connected fine. Park for a few minutes then upon restarting the phone is no longer recognised. It also sometimes just disconnects whilst in use as well.
  19. Changes the weight of the steering, as far as I know.
  20. Its not engine mapping. It just changes the throttle response. You can achieve the same result jus my by modulating your foot pressure on the peddle.
  21. It’s a diamond cut face. They corrode without scuffs. Can’t see a SMART working. Can you even do that on diamond cut faces?
  22. I got one advisory on my first MOT. Front tyres close to legal limit. This irritated me and the car was in for a service and 2 tyres at the same time. But they did the MOT first.
  23. This is Mk3 Octavia instructions. Don’t see why it would be any different. Only one way to find out I guess.
  24. No. You’ll need to set it using VCDS or similar.
  25. You’re best setting them to a 2 second pull of the washer stalk. That way it will pass MOT and you can control the water usage.
