  1. Dealer sent me on a pic of my new one today, can't get to pick it up until Monday. Getting the plastics left in place and I'll bring it straight for its ceramic coating.
  2. Wouldn't say no to one! Priced one and quickly ran off with my tail between my legs
  3. Drove a newer Passat 150 diesel quite a lot. The main difference is space - the Passat has ample room but the superb is that bit better. Access to the boot can be tricky mind on the saloon version. The interior quality is a notch up on the Superb but mainly on the likes of door handles and lower down the interior. The Passat is marginally more refined too but there's not a whole lot in it. I was tempted by one when I was choosing lately but in Ireland there isn't a 190 option available and it's quite a jump price wise over a similarly specced sportline superb but if the price is similar it's really just a matter of which packaging you prefer.
  4. At this stage if the car is built they are looking at it in terms of being stuck with a set of Vegas. They will have to order the new wheels in and swap them but they are left with a set of used (albeit not literally) Vegas to find a purpose for. If it was brought up when ordering they may have priced it into a deal or at least know in advance so they can try and find a home for them. The wheels you are looking at were on sale in a lot of Skoda dealers last year for about €1k so shouldn't hurt too badly. The Vegas should be an easy enough sell privately too.
  5. The ship definitely comes into port here. I was able to track my vrs two years ago.
  6. Thanks for the video. Was wondering how the Amundsen would look. Seems alright. Used it in a MK 7.5 GTI rental and was impressed by it.
  7. Small world but I sent my old lad down to test drive that A3 last week as he's looking for an auto. Decided against the three door in the end. Well wear with the new bus.
  8. I got a call back on mine earlier. Ordered 26th May and build week is definitely 30. Enjoy the car! Any chance of a few pics of the interior and dash? There's very little out there of the new amunsden on a sportline.
  9. Called the dealer two weeks after the order and got the build date.
  10. Hopefully you get sorted out. But keep pushing the dealer. They might be able to help. Actually noticed I had amunsden in twice, meant heated screen.
  11. The factory closes for two weeks at the end of July so getting in before that would help a lot. Press the dealer to make sure it does. Went for a 190 sportline combi in the end with amunsden, dynamic steering, amunsden and 19s.
  12. I was told it would be about 12 weeks, so about 7 weeks from now to arrive which would have had it around the middle to end or August. He mentioned that the build week might get brought forward as it had happened a few of his orders lately but will need to see. I'd ask for the comm number from them and call VW Ireland customer service and they'll give you an update - they don't have any issue getting the info.
  13. When did you order? I ordered the end of May and was told 12 weeks. Got a week 30 build date.
  14. Well if you want to pony up the other 5k for the dsg 245 I'll gladly take it. Started out wanting one but €44k for the spec I want is prohibitive and they don't sell the 230 here any longer it seems. It means my options are severely limited. All black wheels. Never experienced any problems with the Geminis on the last one with regard white worm but then again they weren't kerbed or chipped on the face. Then again add another few years of use and I'm sure they wouldn't be all that easy on the eye.
  15. Sold my Mk3 a few weeks ago and about to order its replacement. Meteor Grey Diesel DSG Hatch Front and rear sensors Alarm Footwell lighting Heated seats Heated screen Challenge pack (vrs mode, black pack, black geminis) Sunset glass Space saver Irish spec seems to have had a nice bump with the Columbus as standard. Folding mirrors and reversing camera are too so should be fairly decent whenever it arrives.
  16. Had a Euro 5 Leon FR184 and a Euro 6 VRS 184 and I'm not noticing regens any more often tbh. What I do notice is that the low down shove is lacking more on the Euro 6 (even taking the weight difference into account).
  17. Just a word of advice...The wind deflectors really create a real racket. Mine lasted the spin from the dealers to my house and were binned afterwards. Well wear, good to see another Irish one. Corbett's are good to deal with, did some of my servicing work when I lived in Waterford.
  18. Spotify works perfectly for me. Once you're moving though you will need to rely on voice control as the menu options are limited once you set off. For the functionality it's well worth it.
  19. I had something similar and it was the seat height adjuster. Last one did the same...until I figured it out I assumed it was in the door or something.
  20. No.I've been told the production start date by word of mouth and I've seen the mock up on the internal dealer conference info. And I hope to God they change the look or it looks great in person as otherwise I'll just order a 245 GTI and give herself the RS as her daily. Personally think the mock up looks terrible in those pics. It will have LED headlights and not xenon's though. Given the LEDs on my last FR here's hoping they're an improvement.
  21. Without naming a dealer source. I've seen the literature in person...I just hope looks better than the mock-ups!
  22. I've seen dealers info on the facelift and the split headlight was in it like that AE pic. If you google image search Octavia 2017 the first image is the one in the dealer material.
