Lights sensor
Never when the knob stays in the ON position. It's a matter of opinion whether the Skoda built in recommendation to switch lights on is right or wrong. If drivers would take more ownership of their vehicle rather than leave so many things to the "automatic" gadgets that manufacturers are imposing on us, we'd all get along fine. ps - I also think Its' crazy the way auto lights have been allowed to be installed, with cars running with twinkle lights on the front and none on the rear, flashing on then off when they pass through shady trees or under a small bridge. Madness. Along with several other mad add ons.

Go Manual. Knob On in winter months. Off in Summer months.

Locking wheel bolt key missing
My dealer told me that they have a large tray with all the permutations of locking key. 'cos they couldn't find my key in the boot well and didn't phone me to ask where it was. I keep it in the centre glovebox along with the bolt cap tweezers so I don't need to empty the boot when changing wheels at home.

Auto Break Hold not displaying/working
I think your system is working as it should. Sounds like it was switched off at service - Button A as you described it above. Then you switched it on again and it worked as normal. As above - the icon flips from Green to Red to show Auto Hold vs. Handbrake. It's great. Just press the Go pedal to Go. I often switch mine off when parking at my door to avoid the handbrake being on when car not in use for a day or 2. Then I must remember to switch it on next time out. You're soon reminded if you don't switch it on when the car runs away down hill after you come to a stop and take your foot off the pedal 😃

Welcome to Briskoda. ps - I haven’t had a sunroof for about 30 years and never will have one again. For all the obvious reasons.

Anyone have a rusty wiper spindle?
They (VWFS) chose to log it as a formal complaint. Therefore, “they” had to follow their own procedure. ”They” are still a bunch of w*nkers.

Anyone have a rusty wiper spindle?
Got a call from Skoda Finance (aka VWFS), the owners of the vehicle. The guy politely told me to **** off. Normal wear and tear. Email confirmation of the conversation. I do “have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service”. Utter, utter nonsense that they won’t accept it’s not right .

Scored rear discs Superb 3
It seems to be a well known fact that Skoda (and possibly other VAG brands) have been fitting poor quality discs and pads. My first 2017 Kodiaq needed 2 sets of replacement rear discs and pads under warranty inside 3 years at 11,700 and again at 23,700 miles. Third set were still ok when it departed at 30K. My second 2020 Kodiaq has just had new rear discs and pads at under 12,000 miles. No argument at all. Fitted on same day as oil change service. Glasgow BTW. My pictures over 4 years are similar to the above. Front brakes always wearing evenly and shiny all over, while rears show very uneven pad contact and significant uneven bands of corrosion vs. braking area. There is no Skoda defence just because the car does actually slow down OK.

Kodiaq Service
2 weeks ago mine enjoyed first “oil change service” at the supplying sealer for “only” £120. But all you get is oil and filter plus a look over. Gives me an official Skoda service history sheet though. Is also a 2020 car with only 11,800 miles. I have a dealer nearer home and would have expected the same cost, but I wanted to discuss a warranty point. But, our No.2 car gets an annual oil change at a tyre/exhaust/service shop a few yards from home and I supply the oil and a VW filter.

rear scrolling indicators - 2020 Kodiaq
These were a cute gimmick when they arrived a few years ago. On all makes. When I’m following a vehicle (lorries have them too) with scrollers I find they are often less noticeable among the tail and brake lamps than normal On/Off indicators. I’m not in the fan camp. I think the fad has passed and they’ll disappear.

Enyaq vRS available in Configurator
Once upon a time I enjoyed a Tango Orange Volvo. Was a great car. Don’t think I’m up for splashing £53K on an Enyaq coop.

Scored rear brake discs
My Bear just got new rears under warranty. Under 12,000 miles in 21 months. No argument. It’s a well known problem of poor disc and pad material at times. Same as previous car which had 2 replacement sets till proper materials were fitted

Anyone have a rusty wiper spindle?
Now in the hands of VWFS. It’s their car. I don’t want to suffer at end of contract with a big Minus mark.

"Do not dry the headlights" - why not?
I guess I missed that page in the handbook so haven’t had any sleepless nights.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
I’ll lend you my calculator 😀

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Mois Aussi. I occasionally walk my wee grandson to school and the road is choked with cars, including RS4, brand new RS3, X5s and Q5s aplenty. How people cope with these choices I don’t know. My neighbour came home with an SQ5 Coupe recently. He works from home FFS and it moves about once a week. I bumped into an ex-colleague at a cafe recently. He’d parked beside us. A nearly new Audi RS6 Vorsprung model. I fell off my chair when I discovered it lists around £110K. My kicks also come on 2 wheels. Who doesn’t need 300 BHP/ton? My skip truck / removal van / taxi will provide “boring” load lugging duties for a while yet. ps - sorry for digression 😀

70 Plate Kodiaq - rear discs and pads needed.... do you think this is reasonable? Replacement discs + pads <6k miles

Anyone have a rusty wiper spindle?
I got blown away at yesterday's first service. Deemed to be fair wear and tear. Was told to call Skoda.

1st service booked - this’ll be fun. Not.
After 22 months and a mere 12,000 miles the car enjoyed it's first oil change service yesterday at the supplying dealer. Dropped the car off early and stressed that I needed it back by lunch time to make an afternoon appointment. Enjoyed Glasgow city centre for a few hours on a wet morning. 1215h call - your car's ready. Strolled in and signed 4 or 5 forms to say I'd enjoyed the experience. Pleasantly surprised by a bill for "only" £120. Very pleasantly surprised that they'd managed to replaced the badly worn rear discs and pads immediately to save me a return visit. Hope these are the real deal out and outlast my period of ownership, unlike last car needing 2 replacements. Very annoyed to hear that they were washing their hands regarding my rusty wiper spindle. "Normal wear and tear". My arse! An hour ago I received the Courtesy Call to see if I was a happy bunny. Yes and No said I. The man suggested I call Skoda if I want to pursue the rusty wiper spindle. Thanks. Their tick sheet gave an OK tick for everything, omitting to comment on the big lump out of my front bumper where a rock hit it. Must be blind.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
You like Red? Sorry it’s a well used old banger 😀 And at £45K on the Skoda site Builder, it’s unlikely I’ll buy another one to this spec.

Driving techniques for DSG gearbox.
Tip No.1 - switch off Stop/Start every time you start up. Top No.2 - never, ever use Eco mode. Spawn of the devil. As above, flip/flop from Normal to Sport mode now and then to give you that quicker overtake or take off at junctions and roundabouts. **** around in other modes at your peril. Life is even more fun with paddles for gear changes. From one who has enjoyed DSG boxes for over 10 years, with a current Polo GTI to demonstrate what “nippy” really means. And surprisingly, my dear OAP wife wholeheartedly agrees.

Esim Plan
I threw the App away after 12 months. I’ve never lost my car and know whether it is locked or not. I’m still surprised by the little global logo in the top centre of the central screen flicking from red to grey at random. I take it to mean there’s a SIM occasionally talking to someone. Possibly built in or possible the 99p one I stuck in slot on day 1. I’m happy that I can play music from my phone via Bluetooth. Plus infrequent use of BT phone connection. It will be interesting to see if the dealer mentions anything about SIM, updates or Apps when it goes for first service next Monday.
