  1. Anyone got one? Been chatting to AP Automotive about Racingline, they have quoted for an Ecotune map. Searched the forum but can't find anything about their maps, though plenty about how good they are with APR etc.
  2. Will do later, but last 3 Skodas (ll bought new) have had the same issue - it's a know connectivity thing with LG V30 phone which is documented somewhere in the Superb threads. My Superb, vRS Tdi, Karoq and now my 19 plate vRS has the same issue, so I don't think it's a firmware issue.
  3. Never noticed a problem with cables / dropout once I have a connection, but getting the car to talk to my phone in the first place, that's another thing altogether. Third Skoda that won't import my phone contact either, no matter what I do.
  4. Power grip or T track? I've got a Thule aero bar, and both fit. I can see that power grip are quick and easy to take the box on and off, but the T track are cleaner and maybe stronger, but a right pita to put the box on. Not sure which ones to keep....
  5. You can under a PCP invoke a voluntary termination or VT if you have paid off more than 50% of the finance. I've done it, but bear in mind that they go over your car with a microscope to charge back defects and damage.
  6. Thule aero bars work really well. I've just installed some
  7. Important point to bear in mind, whatever they tell you, whatever the sales pitch, no remapper will provide a warranty for damage to your engine for using their map. All they will do is warrant the map, nothing else. Caveat Emptor. I know, because I tried this out a few years ago when my turbo blew up, guess what, they weren't interested.
  8. FWIW, I've had 3 manual Octavias, all remapped. mk2 pre FL OE clutch was fine, mk2 FL needed an upgraded clutch (and was very very heavy); both were Shark remaps. Mk3 pre FL diesel OE clutch, no issues.
  9. According to APR's testing there is a benefit in using higher octane:
  10. It states min 95 RON on the fuel filler cap, so it's fine. I occasionally put in 99 but tbh I suspect any performance gain is so marginal as to be irrelevant, and I've never noticed a benefit in economy, probably because I've been trying to exploit the additional few hp and Nm Edit: @e-Roottoot George I've given up the idea of remapping mine for the foreseeable future, the extra acceleration is offset with the paranoia of turbo failure, plus it's £700 for a revo where I live so not going to bother until I have a new daily commuter and the Octy is just a weekend project.
  11. Fuel price trend graph here. Easy to forget how expensive it was in 2013 / 14! https://www.racfoundation.org/data/uk-pump-prices-over-time
  12. The E10 stickers have been on my local Tesco pumps for some weeks now, but it's not in the tanks yet. I agree the whole intro has been at best confusing and misleading, the UK Gov website is about as vague as you could deliberately make it in places. I just looked at the Texaco website, I can't find a mention of E10, but as I posted earlier, I had a comms from Shell informing it was going to start introducing E10 from 1st Sep, same as the Tesco notices. Esso is a bit clearer about it: https://www.esso.co.uk/en-gb/fuels-faqs
  13. Indeed. Some debate earlier on in the thread about the timing of the introduction, some folk under the impression it's already been supplied for some months now, and not a "from this date onwards".
  14. Filled up my vRS with regular 95 yesterday, in the knowledge it was not E10 👍
  15. Thanks, really useful info. I ended up measuring the available space on my bars with the bike carrier fitted, and I only have 65cm available to fit a box. That means the Delph on won't fit which is really disappointing, as roof box company gave me a good discount. The Husky would fit, but it's not in stock, so the only sensibly priced option is the Halfords advance 330l box which is 60mm wide. I found a slightly used one on ebay incl postage which saved me £120 over a new one, so went for that in the end. Had to buy some T track adapters, but the thule ones fit, as the halfords b8xis made by them.
  16. Took longer than I thought it might, didn't help that the foot kit instructions were missing! Struggling to get the 3mm gap according to the instructions between the drip rail and the inner seat of the foot. It naturally wants to follow the contour of the roof line. I guess worst case is you get wet opening thd door
  17. Every possibility that their primary use is roof bars, but the factory can make use of them. They were not on the doors of my wagon either.
  18. @Achrys what's your opinion of the Kamei roofbox? It's reasonably priced and in stock at the roof box co. Is it possible to fit it offset on the bars, i.e. the box mountings have some lateral adjustment?
  19. It would seem so, but whether third party bars use them or not I'm not sure. I presume the Skoda bars would do so.
  20. I ordered the thule evo flush bars, in black. I just need to find a nice sleek slim gloss black box now!
  21. Of course. Be dangerous to mix them, especially less grip at the rear in the wet.
  22. I bought and fitted the A005 evo last week. Seem OK so far, feel a bit floaty compared to the potenzas but nothing tragic.
  23. Ooh this! I didn't know that with the new bars, as that is real pita with the whispbars. Anyhow, I just decided for the sake of £50 I'd get the black flush edge and be done. I'm hoping to keep this car for more than 3 years. Just got to sell my old whispbars from my octy wagon.
  24. I'm pretty much of that opinion too. Flush or push through? Only option atm is Thule, the most expensive option!
