  1. @DonweatherWhat's the gross of the superb? Much different?
  2. Whats wrong with 225/45/17. That is the standard 17 tyre size for Octavia.
  3. Is this the same as the usual Audi TT one that is recommended for mqb cars? I had them fitted to my Octavia and didn't notice a night and day difference but they did make it more predictable.
  4. I have one on my Passat so not a great comparison. My take so far is the soft setting is too soft. Still stiffer than stock but needs more. Just not got round to changing over to hard setting yet. Mine might need the hard setting to handle to added weight of the hybrid battery under the back seat.
  5. I actually think they might fit. Plenty stories of people fitting non-skoda seats in Octavias. If you have physical access to the arteon seats I'd take a tape to them and compare. You definitely need to match electric spec. If you currently have heated then you need that. One thing you may need to do is change the plugs. A trip to a scrap yard should sort that.
  6. Does the 150 TDI in the superb differ to the Octavia? My Octavia mapped to a solid 190 ish which actually felt a bit weak. I didn't have the box mapped though and since parted it out. Did about 20k miles with zero issues.
  7. From memory it needed 1 turn each side. It's quite a small amount. Got mot end of the month so we'll find out if I've screwed it.
  8. I fitted eibach pros recently and adjusted via the screw. Why is that the wrong way? Definitely needed doing though.
  9. Yes (green dot). You may need to undo the roll bar links (red dot) depending on the clearance of the roll bar (blue line).
  10. Those Dr leather wipes are great. Then just a vacuum cleaner and brush attachment. I try not to wipe or brush the shiny plastic bits (including instrument cluster) as it gets scratched quite easily. A quick vacuum and a soft brush (makeup brush?) is best. The brush attachment for the harder wearing plastic bits. There's also a trick that I am yet to try where you can use an orbital sander with no paper to vibrate the particles from the carpet.
  11. As I expected. Ta.
  12. @toot do you know what the double asterisk is on the dq400? Asking for a friend.
  13. Not seen them listed like that. Can we assume that the 382 is a variant of 381? So why are they different schedules? Like you suggest, just don't leave it that long. Considering how sensitive the 250 is to it's 40k service, just call them all 40k. But then you get the other man's going with differences again. I'm sure Audi did the 250 at 38k.
  14. Wish there Mr toot! Did you just drop a magic bit of info that the 80k service is just the first one? Then 40k after that? Shirley we would have heard of that one before now?
  15. They have a slightly smaller diameter so your Speedo with be out a little. In a safe direction though as it'll read hi. Assuming you fit them to the same wheels I believe you'll be fine. The tyre will be 5mm closer to the suspension which will be the most risky bit.
  16. Na, bin the wipers off. The more challenging drive will force you to slow down further saving fuel. Re. the mud flaps, everything adds up. If going to the effort to add extra undertrays then the flaps will be a contributing factor.
  17. Maybe worth a shot if they'll take it back opened and you don't like it. Really do think it's worth the effort to get the CDs on SD card though. Convenience of having it all in one place is great. Other option is a monthly music subscription. You don't necessarily need a data connection as you can download music to the device if needed.
  18. Should just be a view in the nav.
  19. To get an OEM cd player you need a retrofit which isn't cheap. Better would be to visit an auto audio place* and ask for a changer option. At least to get an idea of cost. Yours is likely an mib2 system so the equivalent is a Columbus which will cost up to £1k with a new screen. *There's a really good one in reading so maybe give them a call or look to see if they have a branch closer.
  20. Superb MK3 discussion. MK2 Octavia has smaller tyres. I'm sure you knew that given your usual detailed response so this is for the benefit of others reading in the future.
  21. Engine tray would make the most difference if not already fitted. I'd be surprised if you didn't have one on a UK car. Next step would be narrow Tyres like 205/55/16 assuming you don't have a vrs and your insurance company aren't numpties. Next step is lowering as suggested by toot. There is not much else you can do beyond major mods away from OEM parts. Maybe make sure the little lips in front of the wheels are intact. They make a surprising amount of difference for such a small part and often get battered by kerbs. Oh yeah, remove mud guards if you have them.
  22. I wonder if "Autonater sensor" should be O2 sensor.
  23. No part numbers but just did Google image search for "Amundsen mib2 unit" and shows a load of units with only SD slots.
  24. @ApertureSNope. My mib2 I had retrofitted to my Octavia didn't. The mib2 in my Passat doesn't. The mib2 in MrsG's seat doesn't. You need a Columbus for a cd slot on later systems.
