2018 Octavia Scout tyres
Should also make sure it's actually the rough bits that's causing the issue. It could be bad alignment. I would also argue that 45 isn't that low. It's by no means tall but low is more like 35. I have 235/45/18 on the Passat and there is quite a lot of rubber there to cushion the bumps.

30 MPG on 2.0 TDI. What could be wrong? (Long)
I would argue that naming if they pull through is more important. An honest garage is good to know of.

Wireless charger phone size
Can you find a 99p case for the 14 and see if it fits?

Depends on how much they are set to lose by you returning it. Certainly won't get a customer out of a briskoda member after all this (or anyone else doing a search). If you do get it rejected are there any forum rules about posting the reg? A colleague got a ford recon engine done at ford for something like £1300. So it's not an expensive thing to do in general.

*Damped. You don't need the bracket to be wet.

Superb iV charging flap
Probably worth trying it every day though as the changing weather might let something go.

Superb iV charging flap
Assuming it's the same as the Passat (looks identical), there is a fair amount of logic in the system to allow it to unlock. Just read a thread on the Passat where it would only unlock if the front passenger door was opened. Owner suspected it to have confused itself into a left hand drive car. It didn't say if he got it corrected. The cable lock and hatch lock on mine works the same. I have all doors set to unlock at the same time and don't have keyless entry (only keyless start). When I stop and get out of the car if I leave it too long (getting the kids out) I have to unlock the car again. If I leave it too long after unlocking it will need another unlock. Basically if I leave it too long it needs unlocking again to be able to either get the flap open if get the plug out. How do you have your door set to open?

Used VRS buying advice, what to look for
All sorts of usual used car advice blah blah blah. Don't get sucked into full dealer service history stuff. Just because it was serviced at a dealer does not mean all necessary tasks were carried out. @tootwill be along shortly with the useful table of service intervals. A car that age and mileage should have had plugs, brake fluid and dsg as a minimum along side regular oil changes. My favourite thing to check is the tyres. Good points: all the same, half decent, plenty tread. Check for kerb rash too. Bad points: odd tyres, cheap tyres, kerb rash. Good tyres generally point to a car that was looked after.

Coolant temp spike after waterpump replacement
@dazahill1 you beat me to it. Was busy with kiddo bedtime.

Alternator
Can confirm I used to see a range of 11.x - 13.x (tipping into low 14) on my 2.0tdi.

Coolant temp spike after waterpump replacement
Most of the water pump issues are with the 2.0tdi. I don't recall hearing about it on the 1.4. Doesn't mean it's not happened though. Another thing to be aware of is you actually had 6 months to take the car back to the supplier for them to have a chance at fixing. Possibly too late now as you have had someone else work on it but worth talking to them. As for the current issue, take it back to the indy and get them to double check the coolant level. There was one on here over the weekend reporting similar and the garage hadn't done the purge to get rid of the air in the system.

" had my timing belt with water pump replaced. Then check coolant level - empty" filled up with roughly 2L of coolant.
Ummm, no! You pay someone to do the work and they should do the work. Go and ask for a discount if they are going to get you to do some of the job. If all it was is a bit of missing coolant then you got away with it. Although if you are genuinely getting a big change in mpg you need to have it checked out.

I'd be more worried about the flat spots and getting the garage to do a full check of their work. Sounds like they missed something. Either no water and it's damaged something running dry or the water they put in has gone somewhere it shouldn't.

Enough is enough...2.5 years and still faults
Superb iv comes with mib3 system which is plagued across all brands I think. My Passat GTE has the mib2 setup and has been fine. I think it was an unnecessary move by Skoda to go to the newer untested system. If the car is 2½ years old it won't have been a used buy. That's when they came out.

Superb iV aircon
Roger that. Just checking.

Why are you sitting in it while plugged in? Charging? I don't think I have ever done this except for when using OBDeleven. Given the relatively short distance you can cover on a charge I only ever charge at home.

Octavia drifting from side to side
205/55 is the normal 16 size I think. Those tyres are are particularly narrow for a car like this. What pressure are you running them and have you checked the rotation direction?

H7 Halogen bulbs last no time at all
Don't go for high power versions. They don't last anywhere as long. Cheap standard fit ones are best for this application. Also as fog lights they won't flood the space with light when needed (in fog) so you will actually be able to see.

Mib 2.5 retrofit
Did you have nav before? If not then you are probably missing the gps antenna. Should be straight forward enough to get one and plug it in.

TSI Stage 1 remap and DSG torque
I think it's as straight forward as how many gears you have. 6 will be the 250 7 will be the 381 (maybe 380 but they are very similar I think) There was a new member a couple of years ago that thought they had the 250 as they didn't ever get to 7th. Worth a high speed run to check. Within speed limits of course 😀

Larger tyres on Octavia MK3?
Is the standard 17 size not 225/45? Maybe give that a go first. Cheap size too.

30 MPG on 2.0 TDI. What could be wrong? (Long)
If the first response from the dealer isn't along the lines of being very apologetic and wanted to help you out without you being out of pocket I'd be handing the keys back with a full refund. The more I hear about this car the more it needs binning off.

We need that video'd. Pretty please.

I'd say go back to seller and accept no less than replacement dpf.

Subaru rival (Haldex and general skoda modding advice)
A petrol can be surprisingly frugal. Half the fuel usage is a bit of an exaggeration possibly. But then there are other benefits to a diesel especially when towing. If it were me I'd go for the 105pd. With a simple map they feel a lot more than the 140ish they end up with. Then a few more mods to the fuel system will open it up a bit more. Don't expect 200 without plumes of smoke but then the torque is great and you don't need 200hp. The simplicity of the engine and cheap parts would also sway me. Finding one that isn't trashed might be hard though.
