Timing Belt problem - can't remove bolt
In my experience avoid Skoda specialist. Go to vw specialist. same cars with usually more experienced staff.

New tyres on the 4x4 superb
@roottoot does that not make my argument even stronger?

New tyres on the 4x4 superb
There's no compromise for the right tyres at the right time. We might not have extreme temperatures in the UK but the range across the year can be 30 Deg and well into the lower temps where a winter based compound is of benefit. As for the original question: stick to single types across the whole car with as even tread as possible. Swap them round if you can.

About to buy a 1.4 SE Sport estate
Likely 50mm but should be easy enough to check. 55 was mostly fitted to vrs and 4x4 models.

How to improve steering feel
Does the superb have steel control arms? Pretty sure the Passat is alloy so assumed the Skoda was the same.

How to improve steering feel
I don't have DCC. Have koni SAs instead. Not the best and should have gone bilstein b6 but I want a to scratch that.

How to improve steering feel
@Frankenfurter that's interesting and good to know. I'm planning a set of springs soon for my Passat. Being a heavy beast (GTE model) suspension is affected massively. I will consider a front bar down the line. Have a white line rear bar already. Much bigger job on the front though.

How to improve steering feel
I would disagree that front roll bar will help sharpen handling. A rear one will though. Also to a lesser extent a digbone insert. Didn't affect my Passat loads but it tightened up the front of my Octavia a fair bit. Just made it less squirrelly in bumpy corners. That and B6 shocks made the biggest difference on that car.

Replacement bulb not working
Sounds like a bad connection to me. If you have a multi meter you can try tracing the wires and test while someone wiggles them?

Audi Throttle response OBDeleven
Try it through coding. Usually get a better result.

Finally fitted suspension
Info on headlight settings would be useful. I have some springs I'm planning on getting so will have the same to deal with.
- Is it worth to repair? 4 Injectors gone, high pressure fuel pump, probably engine compression issues...

Tyres annoyance....
I think the 235/35/19 are closer to Octavia size and a common upsize from stock 19s which I think are 225/35. The 17 and 18 tyres are certainly 225 width and 45/40 profile respectively.

Infotainment retrofitting
Yes the screen can be swapped with affect on mib2. There is a thing I think that prevents the latest Columbus screen working on mib2 as it requires 2.5. otherwise the slightly older Columbus screen will work fine.

Has anyone tried or installed the Koni Special Active?
I won't be using koni again. When my SAs fail I'll go bilstein b6.

DPF replacement after 3 years 7 months (52,000 miles) - reasonable? Superb 2.0 TDi 148hp DSG.
Assuming the dealer is good enough at what they do and is correct about the dpf failing. You should keep trying to get a good will out of them or SUK. Just keep pushing. Also sounds like you are learning a bit about DPFs so this shouldn't happen again and you'll have many years of happy ownership. For a bit of info I replaced my oil burner back end of 2020 with a PHEV. With COVID and not having the need to travel to see my parents as they both passed, I didn't need a mile muncher any longer. While I did have it I exclusively used posh fuel and quite often ran it in sport mode when driving round town. Just to keep the revs and heat up.

I have confused the stabilizer reference. OMG!
Any chance we could have a brief explanation in English so we know what was involved and whether it would affect anyone else.

Front Shock Absorbers (with sensors)
FYI they don't control the height. Hopefully that's not what the dealer told you.

Smartlink as standard on Octavia Scout December 2015?
Can you side load android auto? Used to be able to when it was a separate app but it's now baked into android so possibly not.

Washer fluid pump
Washer fluid pump in our arona is blowing fuses. What are the chances that a replacement pump will solve the problem? They aren't expensive but could be challenging to get to. If it just going to fail as soon as I turn it on due to another fault in the system........ Short version, what would cause a washer fluid pump fuse to blow?

Possible to fit DSG paddles?
@PetrolDave I may have a wheel that would fit. PM me if interested and to remind me to look. It's not flat bottom but pretty sure it has buttons and definitely has paddles.
-
Won't start
Does the fuel pump actually go? The high pressure one up front might not have enough flow to keep everything running. If the one in the tank is dead or its power supply is duff then it could offer the symptoms you have. Could explain the open circuit on the pump.

DSG strange behaviour?
Could have been one of the last 6 speeds? Also wondering about the mileage and whether it was over due a box service. My money is in an accidental S mode. It's easy to push the stick back from D if not familiar with a DSG.

Help with iV charging timer for off peak charging
I'm on octopus go. So the cheapness stops at 0430. I set the off-peak in the car to finish after my departure time as I don't trust the car not to use up battery when preconditioning. It's a minimal amount and the actual charging of the battery is easily completed within the actual cheap timeframe.

Remap thoughts please?
Of course you drop down. Maybe a better example to get my point across (although it maybe sounds like we are arguing the same point): if you are traveling at 50mph in top gear and put your foot down, the load (on the clutch) would be much higher than if you drop a gear or 2 for the same performance.
