  1. Sorry I actually meant the hive battery?
  2. MarkyG82 replied to vrskeith's topic in Skoda Enyaq
What do you guys think? I think spec for spec they will be quite comparable.
  3. How are you guys coping with plugging in every day? Is it much of a chore? I like to think I would do it when coming home every day but I know I would forget/wait till 'later'.
  4. Cant comment on the specifics of Revo mapping but one thing I find is that you need less acc. pedal input at slow speeds so slow speed manoeuvring is more comfortable and also puts less strain on everything.
  5. I think you may have to have the volume turned up to hear it. Having audio playing is needed for this? Also it's possible that the mic is muted when you are not playing audio? Just ideas to help pin down the issue.
  6. My 150 is mapped and was quoted around 190 when I originally enquired about the map. I explained that I wasn't that interested in the peak power but the drivability as driven daily you live in the mid range. I would always advise against maps that increase the torque too much at the low end as this will out excess stress on the clutch. Either way my car is much nicer to drive with the change and along with a pedal box it keeps up with a mates tdi vrs quite well. I also run posh fuel as a habit to help avoid dpf issues and also keep the general condition of the engine as good as possible. If you want any specific description on any aspect of the map let me know. I don't have numbers but happy to describe the characteristics.
  7. I imagine your best bet is to find the correct screen for the unit as not being an OEM screen you will find it hard to get it repaired. Unless you can get it working yourself and happy to use it of course.
  8. This is how it should look behind the screen. Best bet is to find some removal tools to pull the screen out and compare.
  9. That could be a mib1 bolero. In which case the screen does not match as it is too big. @SashaGrace any idea what's going on here?
  10. How long does the battery last? Planning on moving soon so will leave the nest wired in and get a replacement for the new house. Just interested in the limitations of various systems much like the OP.
  11. The glovebox unit is the main headunit. The screen is usually just a screen. Bit like a PC and monitor setup. There are different models of unit. I would suggest that the screen is not original and identifying the main unit will help with this.
  12. Not seen a screen like that before with the map and res bits. Also the font looks slightly thicker than standard. I suspect its an aftermarket screen or even a standalone unit. What do you have in the glovebox? A pic would help identify it. Edit: Also original screens tend to say NAV not NAVI.
  13. Not true. If you have a 2 wire installation from original stat to boiler then you can use this to power the nest. Obviously this wont work if you want it to be in a different location but I think you can unclip it and connect it elsewhere if you want to be able to move it around. We have our nest installed with the 2 wire setup in the original location and it has worked fine. You can link up a second stat to use as a temp sensor elsewhere if a better spread of heat is needed. I'd argue that the rad valves are set wrong if this is the case. As for smart home stuff we are a Hue house. Not the cheapest but it works well. I have also got a couple of wifi light switches, one in the kitchen as hue downlighters are expensive and one in the garage linked to a zwave door sensor. This is all powered by Home assistant with a couple of motion sensors thrown in for hall light control. Also have harmony hubs for the living room and bedroom so we only have to use one remote for doing tv things.
  14. Wow what an amazing guy to deal with. As Jase said I try to fit the best tyres I can as that it the only think holding you to the road. Tried to convince my brother with his 4x4 xtrail but he still think 4x4 will save him in a bind. Good to hear you have sorted it. Maybe a knock on his door to ask in person (at a distance) just so you can get an idea of what he thinks the bill says. Never came across a garage that doesn't itemise their paperwork.
  15. Maybe consider none OEM replacement? Pretty sure they make a b4 DCC version. They definitely make a by version but I imagine that would be quite expensive and you would need to do all 4. B4 should go straight in without touching the rears.
  16. looks like it might have been an option on the RS model in some other market around the world. I'll be adding it to my list.
  17. @Obalaan When you say OEM do you mean it came stock on a vehicle? Very interested as it would be an amazing upgrade.
  18. Maybe the hatch and estate use the same dampers. Would explain a greater movement with the added weight of the rear end. Good luck with the new car. They certainly looked after you.
  19. At £1200 I assume you have DCC? If not that is far too much. If you do end up paying to replace definitely get quotes from else where.
  20. Absolutely agree re. service history. I dont want to hear 'it's got all the service records sir'. Just because you have a record of it doesnt mean its correct. Thanks all. I'll be looking more local then. As always some great advice.
  21. this was my expectation. just wanted check as there ar a few guides on buying like this but beyond the legal bit there is little describing how the handover bit works with being able to reject if not right.
  22. On the main site it's €39.99 for the dongle and €24.99 for pro pack. Only reason I can see to get the newer device is if you want to run it with iPhone.
  23. Pro is required for coding. Only the inbuilt apps are available otherwise. You earn credits to use the inbuilt apps at the rate of 1 per day or you can buy bundles. By the time you have bought a bundle you may aswell have unlocked Pro. Plus the inbuilt apps are not 100% reliable and you may not know exactly what is being changed which can be dangerous.
  24. I disagree. 0-60 times will improve but that's not what it's about. If you want to chase drag times you are in the wrong car. Mid speed pick-up and flexibility is where the remap will help. Overtaking being the big one.
  25. Water pump aside they are reliable power plants if given the opportunity to clear the dpf on a regular basis. You can help matters by using posh fuel. Also driving harder than normal helps as it gets the exhaust nice and hot (you lose the benefit of greater economy though). Only you will know if your driving style and situation will be suitable for a DPF equipped car. I slightly older car will cost less, therefore be less of a loss if you do run into problems.
