  1. I don't think you're being funny either. Borderline trolling perhaps but definitely not being funny. You play the same act in my Single Market topic which you alluded to. I don't know if you're trying to play Devil's advocate sometimes which I could understand but if that's the case, you do a bad job of it.
  2. There's millions of vehicles around the world that are now either full EV or hybrids. Ergo that means millions fewer vehicles burning fossil fuels. It's just counting. It's not rocket science.
  3. I suspect that if you hack a black box it's would be insurance fraud and therefore invalidate the policy. The insurance comapny would want the box in the event of an accident and be able to tell if it's been tampered with. More likely the lad's telling you porkies about having a black box. Ask to see it next time.
  4. Looks like an X Type so sorry 🤣👍
  5. Mmmmmondeo 😉😂
  6. Definitely a diesel - the 'TDI' marking on the engine cover gives it away. That and the four rubber pipes coming off the diesel filter
  7. I've always thought the only thing missing was a mower attachment. What's the minimum cut height?
  8. @J.R. I've never used Temu nor will I ever use Temu. Cheap Chinese ****e IMO and I do all I can to avoid giving the Chinese Government any of my data. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/money-mentor/consumer-rights/what-is-temu-and-is-it-legit#:~:text=The opportunity to bag a,are made using forced labour. https://time.com/6243738/temu-app-complaints/
  9. I hadn't seen this before but I fear @J.R.is correct. There's been a proliferation of drof shippers in the past few years. Largely based in China supplying inferior goods for cheap prices with no specific delivery date. One of the biggest, and worst, is Temu who offer billionaires lifestyles. Avoid them at all costs Install the Temu app at your peril. Avoid drop shippers I hope you've learned a lesson but I'm sorry it's been at your cost.
  10. As Graham says below. Sometimes this thread gets hysterically OT. My MkI Fabia TDi would take a similar distance to warm up and that was even on a short 70mph motorway run from Eastleigh M3 to the M27 then onto the M271. By comparison my 2015 Rapid heats up far more quickly. However, the Rapid only has three heated seat settings, hot, warm and off and no low screen wash warning. If I could have that old MkI Fabia 1.9TDi Elegance back I'd do it. A car I still regret selling. Yes, some things are getting a bit bizarre. However I think Google are tracking me as they've thrown this in one of my feeds. Tesla chargers in Chicago not working in the cold. https://abc7news.com/chicago-area-tesla-charging-stations-freezing-cold-weather-teslas-not-batteries/14330309/
  11. You didn't understand the context of that at all did you? I wasn't saying MY car warms up quicker. I was asking if this is how bad this topic has become. Do I really need to have to put it in quotation marks for you to understand it? Fine. I shall do so.
  12. I don't know why you think I'm comparing my car to an EV. We have a Rapid 1.6TDi 115PS, a MkII Fabia Scout 1.6TDi 105PS and a MkI Yeti 2.0TDi 140PS and I'm not comparing any of them to an EV.
  13. I'm not interested in side arguments via PM Graham. You can ask me here or not at all.
  14. Is this where we are now? "My ICE car warms up quicker than your EV so ner ner na na nerr hur hur." As a reader more than a contributor in this topic it's all looking rather pathetic IMO. Edited as @Graham Butcherdidn't understand it.
  15. You and the other ~59.9999999% of people polled for some time now. To keep things EV related... the delayed RoO tarriffs have been delayed in a one off agreement until 1/1/2027. Not necessary had the UK stayed in, mind like so much else. https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_23_6707
  16. Let's just say for a minute the EU is protectionist, who's interests do you think they are protecting? I thought this had been done to death in previous topics but apparently not <sigh> https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/europpblog/2017/08/14/the-eu-isnt-protectionist-its-one-of-the-most-open-economies-in-the-world/
  17. Apparently if you look. https://roadsafetygb.org.uk/news/opinion-20mph-policies-are-anti-death-not-anti-motorist/#:~:text=Pedestrians are also proven to,20% when travelling at 30mph. https://www.brake.org.uk/get-involved/take-action/mybrake/knowledge-centre/speed/speed-and-injury Speed limts here (Germany) are 50Kph in urban areas but outside schools, residential/ care/ retirement homes that's lowered to 30Kph (18Mph) The school/ kindergaten onse almost always have a time restriction such as 06:30 - 14:00 but care homes etc I think are 07:00 - 20:00 In some residential side streets it's also 30Kph. Other streets, usually block paved such as ours there are signs as you enter telling you to watch out for children playing/ pedestrians. These have a walking pace limit.
  18. Welsh anti 20mph zone Facebook groups turn out to be run by tories. Quelle surpise! https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/english-tory-politicians-running-facebook-28449407 https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1746942241950560337.html
  19. I'm not sure why you posted that as it doesn't appear to be an EV and your claim that it 'quite possibly started from a small Li-on battery in a mobile phone, tablet or a vape etc.' has nothing to substantiate it. It could equally have started due to faulty electrics. 3/10 Must try harder.
  20. lol @ the irony of Hertz getting rid of EVs. One a second?
  21. I often see them on Toyota forums but not so much on non Toyota forums. Must be a conspiracy 🙄
  22. "The RAC is calling on the Government to commission an independent study into the issue of headlight glare after new research found 85% of those affected believe the problem is getting worse." IMO some are just silly bright now. Are the manufacturers having a war to develop the most blinding light to ever be created? https://media.rac.co.uk/pressreleases/a-glaring-problem-rac-calls-for-action-on-headlight-glare-as-eight-in-10-drivers-affected-say-problem-is-getting-worse-3296130
  23. This looks like a neat innovation for those without their own driveway. https://gul-e.co.uk/
