  1. Energy cannot be created or destroyed only changed from one form to another as you're probably aware and what I believe you are saying.
  2. Lots of things have been suffixed with 'Turbo' since as far back as the 80's when they began to become more common on cars. Turbo oven cleaners, Turbo washing machines etc etc.
  3. One thing I don't miss is people pulling up at a pump, putting in 20 quids worth of fuel, then going inside to do what seems like a weeks shop whilst they leave their car at the pump.
  4. lol It seems traffic calming measures are popular and effective but Sunak didn't like the results https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/08/low-traffic-neighbourhoods-generally-popular-report-ordered-by-sunak-finds lol #2 ULEZ helped London cut pollution faster than the rest of the UK https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/mar/08/sadiq-khan-hails-remarkable-progress-in-improving-london-air-quality?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  5. No. I can't stand it if it's on (for e.g) 18.5°C 18 or 19 yes but never .5 🙅‍♂️
  6. Blue Tit through the window
  7. Yep. One of Labour's biggest mistakes was introducing tuition fees IMO
  8. Tell that to the young folk who have to pay for University tuition or those who can't even get onto the property ladder who pay more in rent than a mortgage would cost. They might have a few more technological conveniencies but kids today are financially far worse off than the generations before them. The only generation who are less well off than those before.
  9. If we're ever thrown back into the dark ages (pre HDMI) I'm more than sorted. I've enough copper cable with various jacks and connectors in the cellar to wind a power station generator
  10. TBH I never used it. It was bought years ago for an old (2009) Samsung TV I bought. I'd totally forgotten what it was for but hung on to it thinking 'that'll come in handy one day' which it didn't. It's only this thread that I now know/ remember what it's for and why I bought it. (SCART VCR to non SCART TV) which I never needed in the end. I also discovered I now own over eight Firesticks and have paired them and their respective remotes up. Gen 1 to current 4K. And a Chromecast.
  11. I'm sat looking at that bottom left SCART to RGB connectors right now - I was clearing out the TV stuff today.
  12. Ahhhh great. Ship them on RoRos half way around the world burning 000s of tonnes of heavy fuel oil. Makes perfect sense
  13. Possible delays coming for Tesla buyers after a suspected arson attack near the Berlin plant. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-68479242
  14. Managed to get a pic of the Sparrowhawk who pops by now and again.
  15. Aye. If the tax man can find a way to tax you twice or even thrice he will.
  16. UK charges tax twice on petrol and diesel doesn't it?
  17. The space shuttle fueling hoses seemed to last quite well 🤷
  18. Does this count 🤔🤭 RAF_Luton_640p_20240226_192902.mp4
  19. As title... Should have offset the badge like this though IMO as a nod to the GTX
  20. I think I may be in his ignore list as well which is fine, that's his choice. If he replies to my question or not I'll know and never bother him again. Unlike some who follow you around the pub like a bad smell and if you decide to use the other bar they follow you in there as well despite repeatedly telling them you're not interested. 😂
  21. Are you the account AKA Ken O'Neil? You do realise running two accounts is against forum rules if that is the case.
  22. That's just hypocritical tbh. I say that as someone who mostly observes this topic rather than actively participates in it.
  23. It's also the fact they harvest your data, no doubt for the CCP, have shoddy workers rights if any, load apps with malware and steal intellectual property. CE is 'China Export' and is no doubt deliberately made to look like the EUs CE mark. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temu_(marketplace) https://starfishmedical.com/blog/conformite-europeenne-mark-vs-a-china-export-mark/#:~:text=The China Export Mark means, used arbitrarily by Chinese manufacturers.
  24. My five-year-old Samsung TV has the normal red and white audio out RCA sockets so I'm fairly sure your dad's TV will have as well. My old (2009) model Samsung had them as well.
