  1. Thanks to @dubDEAN and @Gaz for bringing this back OT. This is a car forum after all. There are other areas within this forum to discuss languages or even other things.
  2. I only asked if there were any decent ones still left 🙃
  3. Are there any decent unmodded MkIs left that haven't been ragged, rolled or written off?
  4. We've a few Jays come to our garden as well. Very very timid. Also had a black redstart which was very shy as well so no pic 😞
  5. @Crucian IME one recommendation over another rarely helps when asking for a recommendation for something such as a chair. I think the best thing you can do is get to an office supplies place/ furniture store and try them out for yourself. Maybe PC World even have some now IDK We're all different shapes and sizes etc so what might work for person A may well be completely inappropriate for the next person.
  6. Passive IR, pressure sensors, optical sensors LASER sensors etc. No mention of RADAR in this piece 🤷‍♂️ https://www.azosensors.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=2621 https://www.gdukds.com/news-media/how-do-automatic-door-systems-actually-work/ OK there is in this piece. Are they uncommon now? https://www.safetell.co.uk/insights/what-sensors-are-used-in-automatic-doors/#:~:text=Radar movement sensors use radar, direction they are coming from.
  7. I don't know what a plunge saw is but if you mean reciprocating saw then I'd say go for it. I've had my eye on one myself but I need a way to justify the purchase to 'er indoor 🤣
  8. Not even close to a Capri. It looks awful. Like a banana coloured Enyuq
  9. 2006 onwards Fabia/ Polo or Ibiza. Estates are very practical IMO. I've only experience with 1.9TDi and 1.6TDi ones but both were totally reliable in my ownership. SE trim is a good trim level which is known as a MkII Fabia 3 on early MkII Fabias which confuses some people. Look out for cheap limited/ special edition ones. Could be a bargain depending on condition, milage and history but there's some that have been ragged.
  10. FAO @lol-lol Just seen this - not read it yet. Tariffs of 'up to' 38% on Chinese EVs https://www.dw.com/en/eu-slaps-tariffs-of-up-to-38-on-chinese-electric-vehicles/a-69557494

  12. No point rescuing any if the car's on fire is there? 😛
  13. Yes I just saw it! I can't vote for one or the other. Carpet in summer rubber in winter.
  14. Rubber in winter carpet in summer. You can do a poll on Brikoda you know @Happy_owner
  15. Wow that's a bit of a list Proper winter jobs.
  16. The older 105 has a cam chain whilst the 110 has a cam belt IIRC. If you go for the 110 it will be worth asking if the belt has been don.
  17. Those advisories/ fails/ passes could equally apply to a non EV owner.
  18. Are you getting an EV, Graham or in the market for one or even considering considering getting one? I thought you were happy with your Superb?
  19. Had one on my 1.9TDi. It didn't seem to heat the engine up any faster tbh. Just keep your heater off for longer.
