  1. You're going for what's known as a stage 1 remap. I've not known anyone break their car after a stage 1. Blocks, heads, pistons, turbos are all mass manufactured. Hell, even VAG use the same kit across various models with different maps to cater for different engine codes with different power levels. It's wise to do your research before remapping but I personally don't see you running into any problems other than failing to inform the insurance company.
  2. Typo. 'don't doubt'. Phone, phat fingers. Post edited 👍
  3. No idea if the 1.2 can handle having never owned one but I don't doubt it can. I had my MkI 1.9 TDi on a rolling round and for a PD100 it mad 125hp without any mods. A remap then saw it at 154bhp and that engine was fine. Much grinning from the driver in his car leaving a few others with red faces at the lights (all legally of course ) So, hopefully others will let you know if the engine can handle it and I'm saying it's totally worth it.
  4. We all know that bridge is really in Arizona now
  5. I'd have waited until the four year anniversary (tomorrow) before replying. Just sayin'
  6. Nice framing of the pic, Amanda.
  7. I honestly don't know, John. I've not done a proper search for a new car or even a used one since January 2019 when I was after a LHD to replace my RHD MkII Fabia kombi. What I do know is I got a very good trade in price for that against the Rapid Spaceback I have. IIRC it was about what I paid for it in GBP but I suspect the trader had a buyer lined up for a RHD car. It was about the time Brits were leaving Germany/ other EU countries and Euros were leaving the UK. The other halfs Yeti is a LHD PFL which was in the UK for a while until we had an incident on the M3 with a disgruntled X5 driver who didn't like German people so it went back to Germany and was in storage for a couple of years hence the low mileage. She left it there and flew back and bought a RHD MkIII Fabia 1.4.
  8. Funny you mention brochures - I found this the other day. Lotsssssss of brochures https://autocatalogarchive.com/skoda/
  9. My best one's on the previous page.. Full disclosure. I was keeping an eye on the odo and reset the trip at the right mileage to get that as 123.4 🤣
  10. Crikey. Makes me wonder what our ~ 100,000km full Skoda service history MY 2013 SE Plus is worth now. It's even in the best colour (Corrida red with black magic roof). Full leather with heated memory seats.
  11. Pollen filter. People have in the past reported water behind the glove box so worth checking. This topic may help. There's pics in there highlited in green text.
  12. Scuttle panel drain holes bottom of windscreen (outside) and the pollen filter for the /C would be my first places to look.
  13. Moin moin from Norderstedt 👍
  14. Hi. It's not possible to delete your add yourself, that requires moderator/ Admin intervention. However, if you go to the first post in your ad, at the top you'll see the below. Click on Moderation Actions and you'll have the option to lock the thread so no further replies can be made. Hope that helps.
  15. @J.R. gave an example of a component that can draw air in without that system losing fluid. Concentric Slave Cylinder. CSC. It acts on the clutch mechanism when you depress the pedal to disengage the clutch. Basic mechanics.
  16. I brought it inside and it's been on the floor for a few hours now and thanks to underfloor heating the warping has rectified itself. I can get some pics if you're interested and look into alternative postage methods. It's not an original Skoda part. I originally bought it off another member ( @Brimma) who I believe bought it for his MkII kombi to put on mine but never got round to it as I left the UK and sold the Fabia. I think it came from what's now known as Kopacek. It's all there with the bonding agent ready to be sprayed or you can leave it black.
  17. You're right. There's a lot of crud around that terminal for a new one.
  18. @vindaloo firstly sorry to hear about that and also to say glad you're OK. Secondly whereabouts are you and what's your ball park figure for a replacement? Perhaps between us we could all have a bit of a search and see what's available. There's a MkI vRS SE available but that's silly money. MkII maybe? Polo/ Golf/ Leon Cupra/ Audi A3? As for the Scala, I'm eyeing one as my next car. Probably the 1.5 TSi six speed 150hp
  19. AFAIK Trafficmaster ceased the RDS updates some time ago (at least in the UK) so Skoda are correct. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_message_channel#:~:text=The Trafficmaster service via RDS,version of Trafficmaster was 3.1.
  20. Henry Ford built a whole plant in South America (Fordlândia) in the early 1900s but it closed in the 1930s as the rubber plantation for the tyres failed and it would have been too costly to get tyres from elsewhere (or something like that).
  21. Could well be. Maybe the boot has had the Citröen badges removed/ airbrushed out as it's a generic Shutterstock photo now.
  22. Pretty sure I've got one in the shed that I never fitted to my MkII Fabia kombi. You can have it for nothing but the only problem is the postage as I'm in Germany. PM me if you're interested. Scratch that. I had a look and it's warped and the postage/ customs etc etc is just too much of a hassle. Sorry.
  23. I doubt it. Probably far easier to just add your lad's address to Favourites
