  1. I'd say give it a few days for the engine to run and the oil sensor to sort themselves out as it may change after a long run or two. If it's still the same after a few weeks then by all means go back to them and say for it to be done again.
  2. I cannot say about the Audi throttle mod as I've not done it myself. With the foglights as coming/leaving home, have you looked here: Lastly, as skoda (and VW) don't allow video in motion for safety, you will not find it in VCDS. I believe it can be done with VCP, or you can buy a dongle from Kauftec: https://www.kufatec.de/shop/
  3. I ordered mine around the 21st August. I got told build week 40 (the week just gone). I contacted Skoda customer services today for an update, as I did not want to keep badgering the dealer, and it's now in state 30 which is that it is on the slow to Emden before it is shipped over, hopefully later this week.
  4. Dunno, I guess Skoda think that you would want a full size with the variable floor. As the full size sits higher up it probably touches the bottom of the variable floor, so I guess it would also prevent it sagging in the middle over time and aid in boot floor weight distribution. I would rather a full size over a space saver or compressor with gunk any day, but I can only spec a space saver, so that is what I have chosen. The gunk comes a distant last. If I have a puncture I'd rather change the tyre and try to get it fixed rather than spray the gunk in it and have to change the tyre anyway. Also if you unfortunately have a blow out the gunk is useless and you would need to call out for towing to a tyre place.
  5. Also, what do you get for your money with the Arteon compared to the superb. I specced up an Arteon R-Line to match the superb I've ordered and it came to £47k. the only things the Arteon had that the superb didn't was the virtual cockpit screen instead of dials and DCC, both of which came as std. Also the gearbox was a 7 speed DSG where the same engine in the superb only has a 6 speed. Yes it's probably made of nicer materials and slightly thicker steel, but is it worth £10k more? probably not.
  6. If you choose the variable floor, the higher spacing on the floor allows a full size steel spare to fit in the gap made, which is why they offer it with the variable floor. If you stick with the standard floor height only a space saver will fit. The problem with only fitting the full size spare is that the variable floor can only be at the upper height with it fitted, so if you want it lower the wheel will have to come out. The only way around it (it seems) is to buy a space saver and wheel kit afterwards, but this will cost more than the £100 from the factory and you will have the compressor and gunk bottle.
  7. No, I have not knoqwingly seen it. It went to the other end of the line, as I thought it would. I guess it has been released by the police by now, and although the damage in the photos looked non existant, it may need a new floor section covering. It's not been sent away for conversion to ATO as it's already had it. I've been on training for the last three weeks, so I'm a little out of the loop, although some failings from the incident are already being rectified. I know some of this sounds deliberately vague, and thats because it is all I know that I can probably say on a public forum.
  8. Vmd is right. Just as James the first was only called that in England and he was James the sixth in Scotland (Or another number). So queen elizabeth II is only technically that in England and Wales, everywhere else she is ruler of, she is really Queen Liz I as she is the first person called Elizabeth to be in charge of it. Boring history bit over and back on topic. The problem i see is that no one in the tories seems fit to take over from May. They would all be just as bad or worse especially Boris Johnson, who is a cross between Prince Phillips replacement for international affairs and a corner shop Donald Trump. But at least we could have a laugh with his bumbling persona pushing us from one calamity to the next.
  9. Aren't the headrest tablet mounts dealer accessories anyway? The universal holder clips to the headrest struts and the tablet holder clips into that. Also it's easy enough to just download a pdf of the manual in English from the main skoda website. They probably had no choice in the manual language that comes with the car, but id guess it is available to order.
  10. Dealer or independent? If you want a dealer than you have trans city auto in Walthamstow. If you want an independent then most would be good nowadays as they would want to keep your service but I'm sure google would be helpful if you want a vag specialist.
  11. It's not come from auto express, they've got it from Reuters https://www.reuters.com/article/us-volkswagen-skoda-exclusive/exclusive-vw-seeks-to-curb-competition-from-skoda-sources-idUSKCN1C91EC It looks like skoda has the 2nd highest profit margin in vag. And rather than adjust themselves to improve Volkswagen profit margin and underused capacity by closing plants or changing working practices, the unions want to stifle skoda and improve vws profit by either charging more for their share of the tech costs or by moving production to Germany where labour rates are 4× more (€10ph vs €38ph).
  12. Unless VW have written that option into the software of the controllers for other cars, I'd say it is a no-go. All VCDS does is replicate the majority of the expensive dealer software functions. VCDS does not change the software, just allows people to change options that are already present, just not active. VCP is probably a better bet as that can change the core software
  13. It must have been built on monday or tuesday then, as this week is week 40. It should turn up around the same time as my car then by the look of it.
  14. I've seen a few of the ecosports and I think they're hideous, especially in yellow. Just a bland box on a fiesta floorpan. Even one of the reversing lights is fake as it is the boot open lever with chrome trim to make it look identical.
  15. With the Humbrol paint, I would suggest that you buy the enamel paint. It's harder wearing than the acrylic, but it takes longer to dry. As it's mainly used for airfix kits, there are a few different silvers so possibly take the trim piece with you to try to match it as good as possible.
  16. Petrol blue is a lovely colour, i would have chosen it if i had gone for a l&k. it's just a shame that the sportline palette is so bland (apart from dragon green). A nice red would have been good too.
  17. The camera is standard with the l&k, optional with the sportline and I'm not sure about the sel exec. The cheapest way for the camera is to spec the traffic sign recognition and then vcds the rest that uses it.
  18. I think Skoda have been positioned as a 'more for your money' brand rather than budget/value, and has been for a while, as these topics keep coming up when a car is replaced. The Octavia is larger than the focus/golf as is the superb. The citigo and fabia are around the same size as the equivalents so it's more about cost and spec there. The bottom karoq might be more expensive than the built in the same factory Ateca, but what do you get for your money that's different as a differentiator? That might make the karoq a better option even if it is slightly more expensive.
  19. I think you need day, acc and lane assist before younger trafic jam assist. There would be guides in the vcds/vag-com sections.
  20. It does look like it is the right manual. Another choice would be to go to the skoda Erwin site, sign up for an hour's access and then download all the workshop manuals.
  21. As they've only just fitted the current 9.2" screen with the Columbus/discover pro, I'd guess that is the best quality screen you are going to see for a while
  22. Yes you can do it all yourself. https://skoda-connect.com/portal/ set up an account and it tells you what to do. All you really need is link the VIN number to it.
  23. Travall make the one that you can buy from a dealer and you can buy direct. www.Travall.co.uk
  24. As long as they are looked after and serviced regularly, there is no reason why a petrol car cannot last as long as a diesel. My Octavia has done 116,000 so far and the only problem I have had with the engine was my own fault. There is no reason why the engine could not go on far longer.
  25. my guess would be to look at the manual at the fuses and pick one that should only have power when the car is on. like the wipers, or heater (I do not own a fabia so I cannot help you any more than this.
