  1. Do we actually need to copy over the mib1 folder? I thought the mk3 was mib2?
  2. Anoyingly, yes that is right. It is the same on my superb but as I've yet to use anything useful with the online infotainment services, I'm not too fussed.
  3. They try to make the final amount less than any gfv so there is some collateral in the car to entice you to put the difference towards a new one. Saying that, to stop getting their fingers burnt and arguments when it's worth less, they've stopped giving out official gfv, the final price to pay tends to be around 3k less than what they think the car is worth (although not in this car for seems).
  4. The heated windscreen in the superb used a metallic film rather than wires. That is why the screen has a funny tint to it .
  5. Yes it is possible. Once you give the site the info it needs, the documents are all in a big list to right click and save.
  6. I agree as I like the two radio stations, but I am lucky enough to live in an area where radio x is on fm. Alternatively you could stream their internet radio stations to the head unit instead of dab (I know it will cost, but it is an alternative).
  7. I'll answer some of these one at a time. Air con. Does it happen all the time? Have you been there when the dealers have checked it? It sounds like there is a loss of the air conditioning gas, which could be a damaged pipe, which may be damage rather than a faulty part. Navigation If the sat nav does not know there is a traffic jam, then it will try to put you back on the same route or it could have happened to recently for the system to find out. It might know there is one but that is still the quickest option if it is shown on the tmc or internet traffic reports. The navigation system is only as intelligent as the information it is given to work with. It's not faulty Whistling noise. It could be a faulty seal or the windows not fully up. Settings Some people have lost dab settings once or twice. Have you tried resetting the infotainment unit? Tyre pressure Not had the message myself. Does it come back after storing the tyre pressures at again? Dsg This sounds like two things working together. Firstly power loss with engine revs going up is what happens when you change gear as it's when the clutch is released. Also there is known throttle lag with the gas pedal. It's just how it's programmed. There could also be a problem with the software if it does take as long as you say. That would be something for a garage to look at. Cruise control Most of that would depend on how fast you are going compared to the car in front. The radar in front will only go so far otherwise it will interfere with other cars. Oil. It depends on how the car is run in, also bag engines have been known for using some oil. Fatigue sensor. It's doing what it should. Yes you may drive for 4 hours without a break, and so have I, but to stay fully alert it is recommended to take a 20 min break every 2 hours. It is just reminding you of this. You can turn it of in the infotainment unit. Cup holder. It's the same size as the one I used to have in my Octavia and it holds cans fine. They can't have different sizes for every sort of can. The problem I have is that the superb does not come with a place for small bottles of orange juice or cans of drink like red bull which the Octavia did have, but this meant that you could not fit anything else.
  8. The columbus control of spotify is poor. You have to set out your playlist on the phone and then you can play and skip tracks on the playlist. Even fords clunky Sync 3 system has better spotify integration. Alternatively, connecting the phone to Android auto/apple carplay will give full control of spotify and you can play it and still go back to columbus main software. The only thing being it has to be connected over usb.
  9. out of the three I would personally go for corrida red. I'm not a fan of meteor grey and quartz grey is nice, but is not a sporty look. Corrida red and meteor grey are probably rarer colours as people get fixated on metallics as they look a bit shinier. I've more than likely been no help and others will come along and tell you different as every colour has it's fans. if you can't find an octavia with either colour, then a Fabia or superb might be an easier find to get a feel of the colour.
  10. On the desktop webpage it is in the bottom right corner and you need to maximise it. I don't know about on mobile. Calling the customer services helpline works too, but either will only be able to help if you have the skoda order number from the dealer.
  11. This one works.... http://www.volkswagen-nav-companion.de/mib/ppoi/ppoi.jsf
  12. You get the code by registering on the skoda connect website. This links the car to your account.
  13. Apparently it's a bit hit and miss and will show the parked position, but what about the skoda connect app.
  14. It's only any use as an internet device if you paid for the sim card option as well, otherwise it will only connect other items to the internet if you buy the stupidly expensive car stick or pointlessly connect a Wi-Fi device to it and use it as relay station. which is pointless when you can just connect your tablet/phone/whatever directly to the Wi-Fi dongle anyway when you only have the size of a car to worry about. However you can use it instead of bluetooth to stream music and video from a tablet/phone/whatever.
  15. The superb does not have any of the fake engine sound things. However the 2.0l 280 bhp has butterfly valves in the exhaust.
  16. Meteor/steel Grey also a £555 option on the sportline. That a lot of money for a flat paint when the standard metallics are the same price.
  17. Spotify and wade work via android auto. You can also play Spotify over bluetooth to the head unit but you have no control that way. Eircodes again would work over android auto with Google maps, but with the built in satnav im not so sure. Google earth is used as an overlay feature on the standard maps, but it relys on data to do so.
  18. It was probably work, although i doubt it would last too long for £35. I'm unsure how it would fit too. If you want sturdy would it not be better to find a breakers with a jumbo box centre console for sale and fit that? It might cost more, but it would last.
  19. After that you can go under the dash and have it come out near the cigarette lighter socket. Alternatively nextbase sell a hard wiring kit for their dash cams that piggybacks one of the fuses, so you could have an almost fully hidden install.
  20. Yes, normal cruise control uses the light stalk. Adaptive cruise control however, has it's own stalk below the light/indicator stalk. This is also the same on the Seat and VW's that I have seen as well as skodas. My superb had the third stalk, yet my friends Seat Ateca has normal cruise and controls are on the indicator stalk.
  21. Sorry, but who won the case? That could reference either side.
  22. I think you'd be lucky to get much better than the deal on offer from skoda at the moment. Yes the £1500 contribution is a bit low compared to others and the apr is slightly high, but this is a brand new model that is not even in uk showrooms yet so they could just as easily offered nothing. Also supply is going to be short for a while as the factory builds up to full production so it can supply the whole of europe with launch demand.
  23. pocketgpsworld have a speed camera database that they have leapt up to date for over 10 years now. They charge for a years access to it.
  24. Nah, you've got to be really speshul and edumacated to be an honourary member.
