  1. Yes it's bad that you've got a problem, but try not to allow it to ruin your purchase, and put it into perspective. I'm sure your dealer will sort you out, but really how many times have you had a tyre shred in your last 40 years of driving. On average I've had a puncture each time 1 every 20,000 miles. In addition - you mention vulnerable groups of people. How many of them could actually change a tyre in the first place. Call skoda assist if you get a puncture, that's what all the BMW and Mini drivers do. best of luck with this small item
  2. it's actually on the second picture.... but that leather looks really nice and comfy
  3. The navman one I've got has a SD card slot for adding extra maps or pictures or phonebook for phone. It's been fairly reliable, although sometimes can take a minute or 2 to find your location if you've been in an underground car park overnight in a city. It's re-routing is decent, ie if you know a better route it will automatically use this once you've made a turn into the alternative route. Not bad for £100, inc bluetooth for phone, so also doubles up as a handsfree kit, although the sound quality for the other person is only good enough for a short call to get messages across. The speaker is reasonable - i can certainly make out better than the other person can - but what else should you be doing when driving. Have to say I wouldn't be without it, but then I drive a lot to different offices on my own, so it's much safer than trying to use a map or multimap directions which was the reason I got it. It also has the speed camera alerts which were preloaded. I'll probably update both later this year now that some new roads have been built on my usual routes. If your not using it often it probably doesn't matter too much which brand you go for.
  4. There's a professional footballer playing in the scottish premier with sight in only one eye. I think its amazing how the brain just trains itself to cope
  5. How can they go from 5000 to 3000 if you've got the clutch out? did the car slow down abruptly? and why exactly are you revving the wotsits off a diesel?
  6. And i thought i was doing well with 108447, should have spent more as still had 20k left :(
  7. Range Rover overfinch M5 estate Audi RS6 (for the winter) We have one greyhound, and would have another if this was the case, so each car needs to have a decent boot - oh and I'd be getting a bigger garage to put a caterham or a gt3 for the trackdays
  8. I use warehouse express. Have also used calumet for my tripod, which was the bargain of the century at £30, with about 70% off in their sale a couple of years ago. And of course Jessops, but only because shop is 20 yards from my office
  9. The admin charge only applies if it's a refund due to a change in booking, eg you want to change due to your own choice. This was a breach of contract and is probably covered by SoGA. Goods not as described. You should be entitled to full refund, no admin fee. But to be honest for £25 I couldn't get excited. A nice letter to trading standards or your local Citizens Advice Bureau though if you can be bothered
  10. If it's definitely over then I'd change the car since it'll remind you every time you go in it that that was what you drove to visit at weekends. Something cheap and fun, eg a mx5 or a lotus, or even a mini (although I now realise 2 out of 3 are a bit girly). Petrol RS or a 1.8T TT?
  11. good stuff - and that was only 2 punches!
  12. What sort of battery time do you guys get out of the G1? Thinking of stumping up for one
  13. I was going to say, have you thought of the ice waistcoat that jenson button wore at one of the f1 races for under your leathers. Just need to have a deepfreeze to put it in overnight and at work. hmmm maybe not so easy
  14. Indeed, after all the Scots are a minority race.... Anyway his breach was probably for swearing at plod not the engine prank. If you have an attitude like that to the police you will end up in jail
  15. If they are so common, how come these muppets are paying 5k for them? Why not just wait to get one. Are the banks going to pull them from circulation? I thought £50 was optimistic! PS I bet there will be loads in the xmas smarties tubes for churches / charities... Might be worth reminding them that they are worth more than face value
  16. The isotonic drink he's been gulping will keep him going. It's amazing how much difference it makes. Better to get it finished tonight though. In the olden days he'd be back out there tomorrow for another 1.5 hours, which wouldn't give him a rest day. He's fitter than he's ever been having worked really hard on it over the last 18 months - basically a decent knackering pre-season like the footballers do to get base fitness
  17. It does use interesting facial recognition though, cause it's really hard to see the same picture all the way round
  18. Seriously? I've got a handful in my 20p jar - thought they were dodgy so hadn't spent them..... Guess i'll not be buying any smarties with them
  19. He's not playing the best I've seen him, but the other guy really hits it too hard for him to control at times. He's just got a break and leads 5-3 though.....
  20. Really good pics there. what sort of height were they flying at?
  21. Another vote for a greyhound. We got ours from this charity, but there are plenty of local ones around Greyhound Awareness League Very playful will sleep anywhere there is a duvet.... smiling....
  22. I change them at 2-3mm - I do a lot of motorway driving and so standing water is a fair hazard as is emergency stops on country roads (usually wet) in scotland. You can generally tell when they are at this level. Usually have them rotated every 10k miles, and then just change all 4. If it's good enough for police cars's it's good enough for me. http://www.derbyshire.police.uk/sei/s/864/use%20and%20maintenance%20of%20police%20vehicles.pdf I have seen some good examples about difference between legal 1.6mm and 3 mm to know I don't want to be having to do an emergency stop when someone steps out in front of my car (they won't only do that on a dry day, will they?)
