i saw this reported on toktok at 730am here, it mustve been just after happening with the time change as there was almost no information at the time. ship seems to have been suffering power loss, made a mayday call, might have been a fire but details are still sketchy. As already said, it happened in the middle of the night, thank God, and not 530pm on a friday... 6 people still missing. as far the total collapse, yup. same as any steel frame, theres a certain amount of redundancy built in, but once that point is reached its going going gone..

its a lenovo... ive had 2, 1 free from uni that survived about 5 yrs of not very heavy usage, and i still had to replace the fan assembly after 18months.. the other was my last laptop from work. i spent 3 of the 5 yrs i had that thing carrying around a bt keyboard and mouse because the on board stopped working and i couldnt spend weeks waiting for IT to sort it. i also went in to work one day and a manager asked me was i still handy with computers? (they knew i had been a builder in my teenage yrs from previous hardware issues i looked after.. im the office jack of all trades) IT had sent her a new fan assembly for her lenovo and had no idea when they could get a tech down to replace it. I did it with my swiss army knife in 20mins. and.. missus mac was given one in work 18months ago when her 2nd surface pro bit the dust in under 15 months. it just randomly turns itself off at least once a week for no reason and gives no errors or messages when it restarts. they. are. ****e.

my dad was a financial controller for an internaional company who produce products related to J.R.'s sister's colleagues absentee excuse.. many many yrs ago. he managed to the factory a budget for an IBM pc, which arrived and a tech was sent from the states to programme it for the factory. he arrived with 3 suitcases of punchcards... and no where to put them

Hi .. its your egr is sticking.. im having the same increasingly frequent limp mode with the 1.6 cayc in my octy, especially since i stopped driving it for work a few weeks ago when i was told to use a van again instead of mileage. literally just now on the shopping run. i also get a flashing coil error and "maf" error on occassion, but its really the egr. that doesnt throw a limp though, and happens if i coast for more than 5seconds without a throttle blip. due a service soon. and my skoda semi indy (own time after work in skoda dealers) told he can get the egr blankedand mapped out for me for about 300quid. lot cheaper than a new one..
