  1. I make the reports and email the council. Not just post on social media as bout the faults. PS there are regulations and requirements about the EV chargers and time to repair. On commercial dividers yet the worst at non repair are public finances local authority / council ones. Especially in Scotland.
  2. Has anyone here been fined for taking non-compliant vehicles into a LEZ? Does anyone here live within a Low Emission Zone? The ULEZ / LEZ,s are not getting scrapped any place in the UK anytime soon are they? They are here to stay and more to be introduced are they not? Is Mumping and moaning about them going to achieve anything?
  3. Welcome. I would not worry about the timing chain if the the car runs fine. Is there invoices or a record of what was done at maintenance other than oil and filter changes. Any record of the Pollen filter changed, the Air Filter, the Spark Plugs or the Brake Fluid replaced? The filters are easy to look at and check and change if needed, the spark plugs might well need changed even at the low mileage, There might have been a software update done since 2017 if the car was going to a Main Dealers. This was a Service Campaign on DQ200 DSG,s from 2013-2015. You could check with a Dealership if that was needed and done. '34H5;, maybe there is a sticker in the spare tyre well showing done and when. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns
  4. So that us where we are. Just sitting back watching and waiting. It seems to be cheering up some that they can keep going on about the EV Revolution, maybe even revel in it all being a great failure.
  5. Is he saying 15% at the start. Sounds like he is to me. Why does he then say if 50% was to go? Tree fellers wanted! PS, my car shows no drop in battery percent as sitting driving. Then when in drive and moving there is less range / battery percent. I could be on 100% and 103 miles showing and after 5 mins sitting driving and then moving maybe show 96% and 90 miles and then once moving and the battery heating and me getting Regen it will be up to 98% and 107 miles.
  6. There is lots of the UK not in the London Region with all the chargers there supposedly. People often do what ever they need to, and many care not a jot about others. Plugging in a PHEV and leaving all day when the battery empty to full is less than 2 hours. EV drivers do the same. There really is not parking long term with a car plugged in and chargers for all. Cheap or Free Supermarket charging brought out the greedy in people. PodPoint at Tesco and 44 pence a kWh on a 7 kW AC charger had many stopping being greedy barstewards.
  7. @wyx087 are you helping others understand charging speeds / needs? Maybe that comes from you having charging at home. 1 hour on a 50 kWh charger might just get 30 kWh of a charge. 1 hour on a crap 50 kW Charger might not even fill the battery of a 30 kWh battery like with a MINI Electric, I got 24 kWh in 1 hour 6 minutes yesterday. But then it is a max 50 kW charge speed car. Like others have.
  8. Peanut Butter was used years ago and worked, best on a small area as it could be patchy looking, as heating with an appropriate appliance. Heat gun. Problem is when it ends up looking crap.
  9. VED on EV,s is no loss of incentive to those that will be charging at home for the use of their vehicle even if occasionally they need to public charge. That is as long as you can get your off-peak electric to charge at prices lower than 10 pence a kWh. 50 kWh at 10 pence a kWh even if only getting 150 miles from that being £5. 7 pence for 10 kWh 70 pence and 40 miles possible. It is the over 70 pence public charging a kWh so £7 for 35 - 40 miles, then chargers at 85 pence with InstaVolt. Just crazy expensive if needed more than just occasionally.
  10. Allowing car manufacturers to cheat / game the percentage of EV cars and EV vans First Registered by them buying Credits from Manufacturers that only build EV,s is just ridiculous. There are the EV only Car Manufacturers that have plenty Credits to sell. Getting the 10% first Registration of Electric Light Commercials. Plenty Companies like Utilities, Councils, NHS, Royal Mail etc are running EV vans. More Government Agencies should maybe have been required to, and councils / local authorities especially where they have not made any efforts to. The Grants and Discounts that were available and which went to the Companies selling cars / vans and kept the prices high was and is a scandal. These over expensive vehicles did depreciate heavily even before any normal patterns. The incentives to Business's of buying / leasing and running EV,s has allowed lots of running of vehicles that might not have been the best use of employees work time.
  11. Welcome to the forum. Maybe best asking in the Octavia section.
  12. Welcome. Your questions might get an answer if this was in the Mk2 Fabia section. Does the 1.6 Petrol Estate have a Manual or Tiptronic (automatic) gearbox?
  13. The Mandate is as it is because the UK government signed up to emissions reductions. We are where we are because of what the Governments agreed to and signed up to and the MP<s and Politicians were elected by those that can vote. Car Factory workers voted just like others. Plenty people must be earning on the Green Gravy Train, or working for those that are.
  14. @EnterName elephant in the room, Stellantis Electric Vans have very poor efficiency. Pathetic range from the 50 or 75kW batteries. They are a total PITA for many drivers that have to drive them because this is what their employers landed them with. PS. I do feel sorry for these drivers. Yesterday the ex Vauxhall factory said that Companies could not afford drivers sitting charging and not driving for 1 hour while charging. Actually the saving on fuel to companies and saving on taxes pays easily an hour of a tradesman or a driver for many companies. For those with high hourly rate employees they might not give them an EV or give them a more efficient one and with faster charging speeds. Like the Management might have as a Company Car even if they do not travel for their job.
  15. This Labour Government is going to have to act over this Mandate that is in place having come about while the Tories formed a government. @EnterName are you saying that you think that there are members here earning more than employees at Stellantis Van Factories who do not care. Your making assumptions or trying to make some political point are you not? It was people who voted in the past governments that have the manufacturing in the UK where it is now. Do you have less income than an employee in a Van manufacturing factory or more? Do you think you are affluent?
  16. £500,000 fines in first 3 months in Dundee. Not that they are getting all that money in because of prompt payments, exempted vehicles or those not paying.
  17. Free charging for a couple of hours. The charger that looked out of service is working fine.
  18. Edinburgh airport park and ride as crap as always. I had to reset 4 chargers before getting one to start and not lock me in without starting. I tried pressing Guest and not Member on the 4th charger and it came up as 85 pence a kWh so canceled that. Used ElectroVerse card and charging at 58 pence at a pathetic speed from charger I am on. Helped 2 drivers with Polestar hire cars get charging. They need to hand back cars at 80%. End bay I got on never repainted so that the born stupid might noticed they are blocking a charger bay. 66 minutes to get this little energy. But need it to get maybe only 90 miles. £14.00. I will need to maybe do a short expensive charge before going on a cheap charger later today.
  19. I was planning on using a 7 kW AC charger in Silverburn Shopping centre Glasgow tomorrow. First Floor & free charging. I was checking on it and all i could see was that this would be replaced by BP Pulse Chargers in the Red Car Park area in November. I can not see anything about that on BP Pulse site. There are chargers at the Tesco Extra , CPS . Their app is hopeless. ElectroVerse shows them as 7kw AC & 40 pence a kWh. EDIT. ++These are PodPoint and 44 pence a kWh.** My bad. ElectroVerse and the CPS chargers showing are at Pollock Health Centre. Close by. ZapMap & PlugShare is pretty damn poor for trying to find where chargers still are in service. or even new ones. BP Pulse showed chargers in Asda Forfar's car park and these have been out of service for 4 year. Still power going to the red lights showing not working. With Regulation changes it is going to be hit and miss seeing where old non contactless chargers have been replaced / upgraded or not. There are 3 new Osprey Chargers planned for Forfar but the work not yet started. I will see if these are still available. EDIT, chargers were still available. Some PHEV,s plugged in and fully charged and blocking the bays though.
  20. @Hedgehurst Hopefully the Service History shows the Spark Plugs changed at the last service or the one before. I would look in the Air Box and see the condition of the Air Filter.
  21. ? What have you done since getting the car, 2,800 miles? ? Do you want the car on a fixed service regime of 9,400miles / 12 months and to service it a year from the Service if it was done correctly before you got the car? Get that history on paper & have them email it now. Forget the term Inspection, that should have been set as at the time of the Oil Service. So either Fixed Regime 9,400 miles / 372 days, or if on Variable / Flexible the Oil & Inspection Service might be at 18,000 / 20,000 miles / 24 months. So allowing that the Tech / Fitter maybe never reset the Service Indicator correctly or set it you best check with a Skoda Dealer what the Online Service Records show as done and put on the system.
  22. Yes quite possibly components worn / well used, even though a low mileage (km,s) in 4 years. The owner very likely used the car in a more spirited driving style or maybe just rook speed bumps and poor road surfaces a bit quick. So budget not just for changing wheels / tyres. Flog what you have on here maybe, just a small charge. Maybe buy wheels and tyres from a member on here. Budget not just for dampers but rubber parts. ? Which country are you in?
  23. ^^^ Total nonsense. What happened to your car happened, claim off your insurance and tell them your theory. They as in VW Group never went out and found a cheaper material to manufacture the parts than used for the other Sister Brands or models. VW Group do penny / cent pinch where ever they can.
