  1. @FabiaMK3 Do you get no paper proof of anything from the Servicing. No health check list & report of tyres depth, and any invoice showing the consumables used.
  2. The Air Filter box needs opening to see the state of the Air Filter and that nothing else is in there. Any Service Package likely has neither the spark plugs or air filter replaced? & has the car had new fuel in since the end of October, the fuel now being sold is winter spec / formulation. (Even petrol.)
  3. ^^^ As above. @FabiaMK3 is there a typo & it is a 1.0TSI 110ps?
  4. Lots of people are driving cars that were never Written off by insurers, but were crashed or flood damaged and no insurance claim ever made, just repaired. Repaired well or not.
  5. I am now scared to go out, or to stay in. When i do i will carry a centre punch.
  6. Is the rear registration lights (Number plate) lights on when the sidelights are switched on?
  7. For years the Police & HMRC tracked vehicles through England and never stopped the vehicles until into Scotland and tracked using the systems in place here for vehicles entering the British Mainland from Norther Ireland.
  8. If it is to be trialled then makes sense to do it in the area of the UK with the most people, the most vehicle movements, they most cameras, detectors and maybe the highest pollution. Maybe the most crime and vehicles without VED, Insurance, MOT,s. The UK Government in Westminster doing what they have the powers to trial in England. Rather than their usual 'Across the Country / all corners of the Nation', which is England and not the UK.
  9. Use a good Automatic Gearbox repairer that will already be dealing with the specialists that repair MCU,s. Get the diagnosis before the MCU is removed, and if it gets sent away it needs re-installed correctly and you want the DSG serviced, Oil & Filter change done.
  10. Absolutely. But you have a Skoda and just one more thing to go wrong. First they must sort the latest Software Failures, then charging issues with electrified models. Maybe Sunroof drains, fuel fillers that fail to open when icy conditions etc. For now the drivers might just have to do the driving in VW Group vehicles other than in a Bentley.
  11. Are people missing that the price is £7,000. ? That is not over priced if the repairs are done properly. The White Yeti might be better than some of the Cars that have had Zinc Inclusion issues and had dodgy refinishing with filler and a spray over. It is certainly worth having it inspected and if not at a MOT then with a Mechanic or a person that knows cars / 4x4,s. The body is one things, and that the airbags are installed, and the engine & Haldex is all well.
  12. Actually the DQ200 DSG has not been any better since 2016. No improvements, i will bump the thread for the Mk3 Fabia where the new issue arrived. True the first issues were 2009-2012, then 2013-2015, Then 2015-2018 yet more with unreliability, 2018 on sadly still some issues. As to remapping and the 250 Nm max. Plenty of us have ran them with stage 1 or 2 and 215PS or so. The Polo GTI 1.8TSI 2015 has 192 ps and supposedly 250 Nm with the DQ200 , The manual is 320Nm but still 192 ps.
  13. @Bertie90 If you are really keen then offer to pay to have the MOT carried out again at another test centre before buying.
  14. I will flag it for a mod to move it, save you posting it again. Meantime hopefully those that can help will see it with this title. Good luck.
  15. If you did not have bad luck you have no luck if the Skoda locks you in and you are next to an EV that has gone on fire. Best buy that Glass Hammer. I hope it is not a Skoda that missed the recall that sets the EV on fire and their occupants are locked in. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns REMEMBER and check the AIR BAG RECALL.
  16. Sorry i see, 20 mph as well. Your family? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/528156-hello-there Best maybe 1 thread with a title about Limited to 20 mph & in the Octavia section.
  17. Welcome. Someone asked similar yesterday and i think theirs was not going over 40 mph after the bought back a write off. I might see where that thread is later on. Best not post the same questions various times. This time in the wrong section.
  18. Very disappointing. Is it 0w 30 FS IV oil used to VW504 00 / 507 00 III rather than the VW508 00 / 509 00, so 0w 20 FS IV
  19. Someone here will tell you if a 2021 vRS 245 has a VAQ diff. I am pretty sure it has. Those selling them should know.
  20. Not serviced to Manufacturers Recommendations if it has a VAQ Diff (Front) So they want to be getting that done.
  21. Pretty much any VW group Petrol car with 150 ps or less. DSG,s are Automated manuals. Maybe a SEAT Ibiza 1.4 TSI 150ps DSG if you can find one, or Polo 125 or 150 PS DSG. Seat Arona 1.0 TSI DSG. Audi A1 122ps S-tronic that is a (DSG) Mk2 Fabia 1.2 TSI 2013 on, Mk3 1.2 or 1.0 TSI. Rapid, Scala, Kamiq. 113 or 115 ps DSG,s.
  22. Welcome. So 2 litres in 9,300 miles / 15,000 km. Were you topping up before Low oil warning lights came on? What engine, Petrol, Petrol hybrid, Diesel? Audi & VW said the same thing about the engines if you read the owners manuals, they are the same engines as Skoda have. 'May use as much as 0.5 litres in 1,000 km. (621 miles) may use more in the first 5,000 km. ' That is in every owners manual, Petrol / Diesel, 3,4,5,6,8,12 cylinder engines. That does not mean excess oil use under normal weather, not extreme, or driving solo within speed limits is acceptable. It just means that VW Group try covering their backsides.
  23. Welcome. Have the Sales Executive show you in writing that the 2 year warranty covers the DQ381 7 speed wet clutch DSG, that is the DSG against failures and unlimited cover be it the MCU / Mechatronic Control unit or the clutches or anything. The VAQ front diff servicing is supposedly now at 2 years / 20,000 & no longer 3 years / 30,000 miles, so has that been done? Has the brake fluid been changed? ? Are they advertising with FMDSH or FSH yet not Serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines, Advice, Spec or Schedule, yet extending the warranty?
