  1. ? Has the Air Condition system ever been serviced / refilled? Does the HVAC system get sanitised when the Pollen Filter gets replaced. Do you ever clean / unblock the drains on the bottom of the doors? Does the Sun Roof get serviced if there is one. runners, seals, drains?
  2. It will be appropriate. Just not the recommended oil by Skoda. That is the VW508 00 /509 00 so yes 0w 20 FS IV. If sticking with Long Life oil why not VW 504 00 / 507 00, but 0w 30 FS III Fine for Fixed ot Variable service intervals. (I would be doing fixed service intervals and non Long Life oil so VW502 00. 5w 40 FS, )
  3. They only differ in having different mapping to suit engines with different power outputs as in 1.0TSI or 1.5 TSI of 150ps with ACT. DQ200,s, 7 speed and reverse. They do what a 7 speed twin clutch DSG does. The engines are very different with Active Cylinder Technology in the 1.5 TSI. Can run in 2 cylinders.
  4. "A fairly large jump in the minimum wage." What crap. take into account those just having an increase on their Mobile phone / Broadband, their car insurance, the rent, council tax, heating, water, food. Low inflation is a total kidology. Road fuels down some and stuff that people might not be able to afford because they have a Minimum wage rise from £11.44 to £12.21. 39 hour week and gross of £446/16 to £476.19 if over 21 years old. Under 18 / Apprentice £7.55 an hour, 18-20 £10 an hour.
  5. Only time is going to tell what Jaguar can actually supply in the way of an EV for £120,000 sometime. Then how much they can be bought as used a year later.
  6. Those needing cancer treatment or an operation they wait years for from the NHS might well be prepared to give up their pension or savings to get it done private. They might well wish their employment meant Private Health Care or they have paid for their Private Health Care Cover. As for the I am alright Jacks, with Salary Sacrifice to buy a car, that is how the system is. That is how the UK is, social divides, have an have not's and lowest earners pay what ever without choices and those doing rather well and not just getting by can use the system. Nice if you can work the Taxation to suit and there is a good Public Health System for all from taxation.
  7. Welcome. If you want to know how to or a link for a guide then the Superb section is a good place to ask.
  8. If they can not they (Any mapping writers) will no doubt be happy to get in your car to develop a new map and see if they have any issues doing so. ? Are you OK with Voiding the manufactures warranty on a new car?
  9. I am asking about tick over RPM. Is that the same in D as in S. If cold like freezing and below a DQ200 should still hold to a higher RPM before changing up. Even with a 1.6 TDI. (With a DQ200 it can be started in N as long as not -8*oC or colder)
  10. Re the Haldex. Is it serviced properly. Was the car spinning a front wheel and a back wheel and is there tyres fitted good enough that could get grip/ traction if there was drive to the wheel?
  11. The OP,s car has sat unused for 3 months not 2, garaged. @carefree Things have moved on in 5 years, and 10 -20 years, Skoda fit as cheap batteries as they can get away with. Skoda is not Audi which matters also.
  12. Left or right side of what? The system uses the ABS / ESP system at the 4 corners and just knows if the circumference of a tyre changes enough from when the TPMS was set.
  13. Modern Airfilters can get damp just as non modern ones do. damp / h20 freezes. -2*oC time is freezing time. So dead simple, check dead simple things. .......... DQ200 DSG and a 1.6 TDI cold weather. If the RPM is holding higher in D on tick over, what is the rpm going to when you put in S and ticking over? What is the RPM doing in P when the engine is started, or in N with the Parking Brake on, or with the foot on the brake? At above freezing or below freezing? Does the higher RPM being asked about cause any issues since the car / gearbox is in D anyway?
  14. @Taz1983 What is done in the way of a service every 6,000 miles other than an Oil & Filter change, maybe look see and change the pollen or air filter? ? How often does the 6,000 miles come around, 6 month,s, 12 months or longer?
  15. ^^^ Who gives a sh!te other than those benefiting. More public money needs spent to employ employees, and the public money comes from more Taxing. Swings and roundabouts. Public spending / money wasted on not fit for purpose schemes needs dealt with. The Scottish Government are experts at that.
  16. Because it needs to. Unless someone knows of some fault which is occuring. ? Did you have the car last winter or longer and is this new for this season / cold weather?
  17. @Graham Butcher Did you notice that the gentleman with the Scottish accent has the video about the shortage of petrol cars has an arrow pointing at a Mini Cooper SE (Electric car) on a Production line in China. That is where they are built. There was a suspension of the hand over of MINI,s BMW,s Rolls Royce RV,s because of the brake issues. There is no rationing of BMW / MINI petrol vehicles as BMW / MINI have more than met their 22% First Registration Target. Go to any BMW / MIN Dealers today and petrol cars new / pre reg are ready to go, or cars are on their way from which ever country, Oxford England for petrol MINI,s.
  18. Yes, And much will go to pay National Insurance Increases to NHS and Contractors, Care Providers, employees etc not protected as the NHS is in England is.
  19. @Graham ButcherYes, as we have been discussing. Yet another Click bait merchant that reports the press /media for us. He makes many comments and exaggerations. @Stonekeeper Just say in England if it is only England. ( and then the other countries get their percentage when applicable. ) Devolved is devolved, as those in the countries devolved might know, but BBC & SKY reporters seem not to.
  20. I know he can not other than Energy and the Power UK, Defence and some other stuff. So just say that clearly for the not so up on anything dafties about. & the SKY and BBC presenters and News Editors with these organisations could just point this out. They say "This Country." Say England if it is England and not Britain or the UK. So he speaks about British People, fair enough, people in Britain, be them British or not. Then he goes on about the Country, then The Nation. The Country is England, the Nation might be, or the 4 countries, Nations, or might be the 'Great Britain & Northern Ireland, ie The UK. Wales has an Assembly / Parliament, and is a Principality. North Ireland has an Assembly. Powers to make laws.
  21. @Mindaugas1990 Is the car still on the original battery and maybe reaching end of life? Is there a nice fresh / clean air filter fitted and the engine is not needing to get more air? Worth mentioning you have a DQ200 DSG as it requires looking at the picture to see.
  22. UK Government Car Parks. Not local authority cars parks, Council Car parks. Actually the peoples car parks. This week seemingly some Railways were taken back into Public Ownership. The first etc. That was the UK government and in England. Like the NHS this week, Sir Keir Starmer.MP. NHS England that was. More houses, More houses in England.
  23. ? Are you aware of what it does when doing a regen, or is this it maybe regenning?
  24. @sussamb what time of year is that and in what sort of ambient temperatures?
