  1. 90 miles mostly in peeing down rain and not much above freezing. 16 miles range showed as I stopped to charge. 3 degrees C now at Stirling and the 3 rapids were occupied and I went on the 4th and got a good speed. 40 mins charging will be enough even if any hold ups. I could just of put enough in to get to Tesla Superchargers Perth and charge and save maybe £1.50 but I will just sook up this extra expense.
  2. Really? A 1.8tsi just from a remap. Or what more are you doing. Coils, intercooler, plugs, and running 100+ race fuel? A 188/195ps TSI / tfsi twin charger upgraded to 210 ps was / is quite hard on the DSG. But really so from standing starts, or dropping 2 gears and booting it.
  3. Plenty with MK2 Fabia vRS have remapped to stage 1 or 2 and 200,bhp plus / 320 Nm with the DQ200 left standard, or uprated the clutch packs and software. I have ran ones without upgrading the DQ200 because only driving and not sprinting / drag racing. When I was sprinting / hill climbing and stage 2 I upgraded the DQ200.
  4. ^^^ there is a lot of money in glasses / spectacles and Laser eye treatment and property investments.
  5. There is a difference as to putting a car with a DSG into N when stopped in traffic when you have a Manual Parking brake or an e-brake, then Autohold. No need to be going to N if Autohold enable and the car is being held and you can have stop start activated or not. Foot on brake pedal or Autohold active the rear brake lights are on. Parking brake / e-brake on there are no brake lights on.
  6. Auto Bilt did test All season tyres to see about advice about changing tyres at 4mm. So regardless of anyone being aware or not maybe try a search like. Can all seasons be used to lower tread depth. As far as driving on actual snow and driving not just a few hours, days, or miles you might hope people have the common sense to know if the car has crap tyres or crap tread and are lacking grip, traction, safety. But then many might not even adjust pressures. There is a video out showing various pressures and All seasons. Again just search. What is the best tyre pressure snow YouTube.
  7. It might be using VW 504 00 / 507 00 now. 5w 30 FS III or 0w 30 FS III or maybe someone used the VW 508 00 / 509 00, 0w 20 FS IV, no harm in you using the older spec Long Life oil.
  8. Check for fault codes, for misfires, but maybe not logged if not enough in a cycle. Maybe replace spark plug time. Look in at the airfilter and see condition of that. ? Is there a recent service history?
  9. Useful if people say tyres fitted, brand and size. Plenty 1.5 TSI manual or DSG have torque steer, or just pulling to left it right. Even 1.0 1.2, 1.4 TSI and 1.6 TDI with a dq200 in various models have had it since 2009.
  10. MK3 Fabia have nothing to do with MK4 Fabia and 2024 as far as the latest displays.
  11. Welcome. Safer than pulling to the left then as they can in the UK. ? Have you reset the tyre pressures to the correct pressure since getting the car? And the TPMS. Is it FWD and a DSG? There are run out striped on tyres. Common tyres mis fitted at the factory. Also poor tracking and alignment. Usually for UK cambered roads though. Common pulling to the left issues in the UK and Skoda blamed the tyres. Dunlop Sportmaxx back in the day. They never sorted and approved fitting Pirelli,s to hide the fault. ? What tyres are on your car, brand and size?
  12. When in D / automatic (semi automatic) what difference does it really make what gear the box is in? It goes up the gears quickly. To many,s annoyance. If the accelerator is not giving performance and you are not kicking down to drop a head then into S or M and there you are, in control. As it is knowing that your hand all 4 cylinders firing and ACT does not have you down to 2 cylinders matters. Then knowing if Coasting or not.
  13. A new Charge Place Scotland App had appeared as available and I accepted. 'ECV2'. Showing me live state of charge and current cost from the ongoing charge. Also staying logged in unlike the old App I still have on phone that does not even recognise the charger is where it is. It keeps requiring to sign into it which is a PITA. Even though the charger does not show on the map it is showing on the app how many kW so far and cost so far. The map / site says you can see the cost when at the charger. Well not on the Rapid. And then the 7/ 11 kW AC charge points have never shown prices per kWh. Elsewhere there are chargers with Stickers and T&C,s and Tariffs. Not easy peeled off ones.
  14. Girvan Harbour Rapid DC and AC at least working. RFID or App starting, except App would not start it. No Contactless Payment and no pricing showing on the machine, even just stickers. 38 pence 43 / 50 kW, 31 pence AC 7 or 11 or 22 kW. Minimum cost £5. I assume the council could not care and just do as they wish regardless of legislation.
  15. @Graham Butcher at the forefront of the innovation of the games industry. Grand theft auto, lemons etc. a big move on from the crap that was available at the time. Still very much innovating in Dundee. Often opportunities are taken up where it is easy to get stuff. Hence the City of Discovery was an early adopters of EV,s and the council got EU and UK grants and funding. So bring us around to LEZ,s but not ULEZ,s. You can not just pay £12 and take a non compliant ICE vehicle into the Zone. There was and is a need to reduce emissions. There is also a need to update the Council Tax because it is as ridiculous as the Community Charge was. An unfair tax and like the Council Tax not everyone payed. EDIT, Just this week. A Labour Councillor.
  16. Welcome. They fit ok. The only thing is do your discs & calipers front and rear or the rear drums look ok as those wheels are very open spoked. Have you upgraded brakes? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/465196-wheel-fitmant
  17. The Poll tax riots were in Scotland since it was started there before introduced in England or wales. In Dundee there were a married couple of councillors very much involved in the protests and they never paid their poll tax and yet still collected their wages / expenses as employees of the council. Other than councillor allowances.one was the Council Leader. We had Labour Councillors and Labour Councils back then in Scotland. No improvement really where there are SNP of Labour lead councils now. We did not need social media. We had DC Thomson press and the P&J and at one time Council George Galloway and the Gaddafi funded free news paper. Elsewhere Tommy Sheridan. PS, computer games industry pretty much started in Dundee, and all the library computers that Bill Gates donated made a big difference. Sinclair ZX spectrum computers and then Dave Jones in Dundee very much had Dundee ahead of many places as far as advances in computing. And also the corrupt Councilors. http://bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpvzp80jv07o Just this past week this film released.
  18. Press and hold TC /Traction Control button and turn TC off. Then try it and see if what you had was a bit of wheel spin and no light for it just the power cut. Also do the same in manual. Do not shift just go to M1 and floor it forcing the box to shift up. TC off, does it do it then?
  19. Skoda changed things and the gear does not show when in D.
  20. @Stonekeeper^^^ Where is that figure from? They might well take all the cars still on the DVLA Data Base as not on a SORN and say on the road. Vintage, Classics, collections, lots of old cars including those not requiring MOT,s or VED and driven seldom, decades old cars and that gives a Average Year of cars on the road. eg. 12 years.
  21. @EnterNameI mean you are a happy chappy. You love failures. Is that clear enough.
