  1. @PlatinumCupraRVery different beasts, 1.5 TSI Active Cylinder Technology & a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. Even these do not all behave the same depending on year built.
  2. @Stonekeeper Thanks, but Not in Scotland. Or maybe just Angus where they £20 cost for renewal. (It does say you can apply 18 weeks before renewal is due.)
  3. Leasing for 5 years is sensible when needing adaptions. I am planning on buying a car exactly the same as i have now when the car is at 3 years as they are likely to be cheap enough. No point me extending the lease, or having the Dealership buy the one i am driving and then me buying it from them. Unless something i really fancy is on offer at a very good offer. Like they have the Enyaq priced at the moment.
  4. Looking for used ones sold by a car breaker / salvage would be the thing is it not rather than buying new. As to electricary & switches / wires / fuses, it is all magic as far as i am concerned.
  5. I was starting to think new licence lost in the post, but a am a bit premature. These things take there time.
  6. Pretty simple really. No load on the engine and no need for the accelerator pressed or you on a light throttle. Tapping the brake pedal does take it back into D /Drive, but so does tapping / pressing the accelerator pedal. Tapping it really should not put it from Coasting 'D', to D6, D7 etc. on those cars still displaying gears, new ones are not.
  7. Really not a Skoda issue, it would not matter if it was a Rolls Royce or a Mercedes really. Reflections or magnification from the sun can start fires. Quite common but the story in the UK was big 11 years ago.
  8. Put it in writing to Skoda NZ. As the owner and keeper of a vehicle. Responsible for your and others safety. & the Vehicles maintenance. Do not leave it to the word of some random guy who thinks that he is the keeper of all the secrets and it is Data Protected & an Commercial / Industry Secret & could cost VW Group billions if Cars Owners were to know what some random people at dealerships can know. 'Known faults / issues, which is why there is Technical Product Information covering this.
  9. Just to let you know @Mathiasen there was a Service Campaign / Recall Action but not a proper recall back years ago on cars like your 2010 Fabia. There was a fire hazard with the heated seats.
  10. There is nothing really odd about the Kamiq, Scalla & then the Fabia which is in it's 4th generation having a DSG and parking / emergency / hand brake rather than an e-brake / parking brake / finger brake. Many a driver is pleased for the KISS principle. Mk 2 Fabia DSG,s have been that way since 2010.
  11. @CFB Are you paying for it now and the 3 year lease and time to the first MOT counting down? Motability pay for popular adaptions, sometimes a contribution is required, are you paying out yourself?
  12. Range showing 78 miles as I try to demist windscreen. Should have turned on while still plugged in but not going far today.
  13. If a Skoda Main Dealership is advising still 5 years / 50,000 miles then that will just some Service Desk person most likely. Their Skoda Approved Used cars or just Used cars with Full Main Dealer Service Histories will likely not get them changed at 5 years if the car comes in with it not already done.
  14. Where are you in Central Scotland and is there no competent independent mechanic near that might be experienced and capable of doing this work? Maybe someplace that does servicing and maintenance of taxi,s. Might even have the parts.
  15. Have the brake fluid changed at a competent Independent BMW or German Car specialist, or just as i do at a competent mechanic with all the gear and more than ideas. As i have with discs getting replaced & servicing done. That is if you do not require a Full BMW Main Dealer Service history.
  16. @Superb_iv Did your car get a Brake Fluid change @ 3 years, (Now that is at 2 years i read on here.) & has the DQ400-e DSG had it's service at 65,000 km / 40,000 miles?
  17. Let's help him get rid of this and get back driving a petrol car. He needs all the clicks he can get. He never has click bait titles... How cruel if he was ever to have to buy a new EV battery.
  18. If Skoda CZ & UK can get Dealerships to understand that servicing is not Optional other than a keeper can decide i am not paying to have that done. It is Recommended, Advised snd Specification is for servicing. It was @ 3 years / 30,000 miles. and now supposedly with Mk4,s at 2 years. Regardless of what the Schedule is it should be clear to the Service Staff, the techs and the owners.
  19. Yes we have had EDL. XDS, XDS + and now there is VAQ and not the nipping of the brakes. If you ask for your Haldex to be serviced they should tell you it is a FWD vehicle and has not got Haldex.
  20. Enough guff really. VAQ is not Haldex regardless of who makes what. Best leave the Full Time Professionals in the Dealership to get the Part Time AWD serviced wrong. 'They have no filter', but they do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haldex_Traction
  21. Welcome. Try resetting the TPMS, that is how things work. Apparently pumped up and reset is not enough. You do not know for sure. Check the pressures, and reset the system.
  22. Sorry my bad. I thought your pictures should the centre top of the grill melted. My stupidity but that is what it looked like to me.
