the truth about electric cars
Just yesterday there was talk of proposals / a wish or p!ss in the wind that 4 times as much offshore wind will be produced off Scotland. Enough for 46 million homes. (2 million homes in Scotland and already they could have 4 times the electricity from renewables.) The south needs to get it's hand in it's pocket then because transmission costs are already high and doubling and the energy that can already be produced is not be used. Time those wanting to produce hydrogen were building the plants up near to where the electricity comes ashore.

Relevant is that it is for the UK market (Not EU) and a MY2026.

Air Conditioning Service
You said that an AC service was included, if in the T&C,s and only 1 then that is what you are entitled to. Why not now rather than in 12 months. As in writing. @3 years in within 4, or am i missing something.

Car lose power and stutters under heavy load (uphill or at higher speeds) Skoda Octavia Mk3 SE TSi Manual Petrol 1395cc
Sometimes there are no Fault Codes logged for Spark Plug misfires if not enough in a cycle. But regardless the plugs need taken out and inspected regardless of faults logged or not. & the air filter inspected. Maybe nothing relevant but was it E5 95 ron Petrol abroad, and was the last fill up nothing to cause concern. Does it get E10 95 ron in the UK or E5 97 or 99 ron min?

Air Conditioning Service
Did you mean no free oil top up,s between services? Such a low mileage in 3 years, do you have the AC on all the time? It should be fine. Is the car to be a keeper?

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
@lol-lol Not to worry if getting 1.5 miles to a kWh and a 85 kWh battery if charging at 6.7 pence a kWh. 120 miles for just under £6. If getting 2.5 miles then at least 200 miles. Public charging would be stupid expensive, much like running a diesel getting 30 mpg. For occasional long distances you pays your money and make your choices. Especially as a private user paying out of your own pocket and not getting Tax Breaks as a Business driver.

Air Conditioning Service
How many miles has the car done? Is it not tip top now and cooling well? Ask them. If you want it now you are only wanting 1 and you want it at 3 years. Why should their computer say no? it is Dealerships or some that say it is due at 2 year. What do you mean everything covered, is it on Variable or Fixed services, oil changed each year / 9,400 miles. Or is it 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months. Are they doing the brake fluid this year or did they do it last years, and the pollen filter then? Are they changing the spark plugs next year?

@wyx087 Cheers i will watch them. (I had seen the first 1,300 mile vid.) He maybe has not run Pre Defender Land Rovers through winters or Suzuki Jimny,s including Challenge Trucks or even motor bikes (& sidecars.) The MINI Electric had non operating demisting last winter and i thought because it was just crap, not wrong from the factory. Worked in the Pithing Rain and hot weather last week, but only when the AC was on. Otherwise steamed up. I have my interior heating at 16*oC or less and have a jacket on. & in Winter in Scotland if sitting about in a vehicle maybe have the heating up high while charging or sitting about in the car, but Wind Deflectors needed when off the road, parked etc and trying to stop snow building up, icing up etc. Location location location. & dressing for the out of doors and getting out of a vehicle and in dressed for the climate. Ford Range /VW Amarok drivers have other issue to worry about with their vehicles. There are ones at 'Much Cheapness' prices from different years, and reliability being the issue with those. With the Fords you want ones that got the warranty work done. (My neighbour is a Master Tech that was out on the Road with the Full Quipped Service van for Ford commercialw and light commercials.. The commercials company he works for now has bought the local Ford car Dealership and also owns the Maxus Dealership up in Inverness. They sell / lease lots of them because there are plenty about that like cheap and reliable and know the value of money.)

Crude, or basic, or rugged will do nicely thank you. I will take one out tomorrow and see if it drives as i expect and for where it will be getting used which is not as a City Car or as a Luxury Double Cab lifestyle pickup.

Money burning a hole in my pocket and just looking at buying or leasing something pretty new. I was looking at vans / Crew cab vans. I was = seriously considering leasing a Maxus T60 4x4 Diesel Pickup, but then i found out how cheap a used Maxus T90 EV can be. No rush & i am going to take for a drive, as well as trying used Maxus EV vans.

MFG EV Power current have taken 5 x £45 in Authorisations & the £14.02 for charging. I was trying to stop the charge @ £13 but it kept charging and need Authorisation Confirmed to stop the charge hence 4 of the £45 taken.

79 pence a kWh, but seeing as the airport chargers are hopeless and everyplace is busy then simple. Except those not managing to get chargers started and getting in and out of here.. airport hotel Polestars always here.

best Superb estate model. Petrol or diesel
Does it need to be LEZ / ULEZ compliant? A DSG or manual? How many annual miles or use daily will it be doing? Maybe give a 1.6 TDI CR / DSG (DQ200) a miss, even though there will be those that have had no issues.

the truth about electric cars
Re Raw Minerals. Lets not forget the mining at the same places for the same materials for aeroplanes and weapons, the electronics and whatever. Look at how Gazza has been flattened, and all the death and destruction in the Ukraine and everyplace else around the world where there are wars. Wars for Oil, Gas, Minerals /rare earths.

Jemm
@Jemm i see you posted again about your car and asked if it should have an alarm. Did you not know if you had an alarm before the car was stolen and then after recovered, and did the Insurance Company think the car had an alarm back when, and now?

@Jemm Did you not get to the bottom of this back when there were all the posts and you explained what had and was happening? Worth a mention you are in Australia.

Redline on DSG
Never ever had an issue redlining and beyond a vehicle with a DSG. Why have a redline on the dash / rev counter of a vRS or any VW Group vehicle with a DSG / s-Tronic if just to a Full Stop would be as far as you can rev.
