  1. But the VW 508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV is correct.
  2. I doubt it very much now if you could get a battery from salvage. Maybe in the future it will be possible or viable. Just guessing though.
  3. What is it, engine size / power and what size wheels has it and what size tyres on now. Are you just wanting summer tyres or All seasons?
  4. Is this all really needed? The labour hours are ridiculous IMO. Costed not as the wheels are coming off once, parts stripped, replaced, brake fluid changed, exhaust clamp done. Wheels on, road tested. Half a day morning or afternoon at the most, not needing almost a full days work for a trained mechanic. Maybe an apprentice yes. But not at that hourly rate.
  5. @Tonyduncan Sorry just being nosey but why do you not want the doors Auto locking?
  6. When the politics side is in there and people can not see the wood for the trees that just adding to the confusion. The Green agenda is no more corrupt than the Governments being in bed with the heritage manufacturers and allowing corrupt practices. Seemingly there is something on the table to save Alexander Dennis building, or assembling electric busses in Scotland. Suppliers have already paid off employees though. Maybe Alexander Dennis EV busses are just not of the Spec that sone of the operators of Electric Busses in Scotland wanted. Aberdeen City had electric busses not fit for purpose . Out of service. Hydrogen Busses from Wright Bus as well. Lord Bamford of JCB and Boris Johnson's major sponsors son owns that company. Public money into the manufacturers into the bus company and the purchasing of lemons. Politicians and Government / councils and the usual ba-lls ups.
  7. Pro EV blogger and driver even. Actually has skin in the game. This sort of issue which is more than snagging faults is sadly common. Stallantis again like with the Vauxhall Corsa-e and drop links. They were an issue with ICE engines and more so with the additional weight of the EV. Tesla failings with suspension as well. VW with software and charging like with the ID3. It is how they address the issues that matter. Citroen / Stallantis are taking the pith with the Quadricycle as are the Supplying dealer or dealership getting the vehicle on for warranty work.
  8. There was a President and thing started, then a new President and things continued, now the one there at the start is back in and can scrap the whole green thing. He never liked the EV companies or owners anyway and obviously never took money from them for his election campaign.
  9. Mr IM Jolly is just getting on with earning a crust telling us the stories he finds. The facts are the facts and yes the Vids are for Clicks, he is not changing the world any more than we are posting here or anywhere.. .
  10. @M035 Is it a Fabia Estate / Combi you have? Pity they are no longer produced.
  11. @Haz_Raf More than double? Are you sure? But that is how things are when you do get the maths right, 65% of 215 mm, or 30% of 275 mm. Low profile, XL / reinforced sidewalls, different load / speed ratings, compounds maybe, treads as well. Bl00dy good handling and comfort is pretty good, but suspension is important there, . occasionally hitting a pot hole can mean a tyre bulge and a replacement needed or even a new wheel. But then things are what they are, i have cars with small wheels and lots of sidewalls for when the want takes me. PS, really as far as difficulty in tyre manufacturing and prices that is for others to bother about. Check out big sizes that are not Run Flats and there are plenty that are 'Much Cheapness' and not ditch finders. 'BackCircles'
  12. @M035 Is this estate cars? Are they the Octavia and Superb estates? Not so well priced in the UK new now. Once they get out the Octavia Estate size BEV they will maybe be onto a winner. And a light commercial version.
  13. Just as well the UK is not North America. Good that he is no longer in the UK .. grifter.. buy him a coffee and maybe some happy tablets.
  14. The cost at services was £100 back in 2020 regardless of 3 or 4 plugs, went to £115, then £125. Now a quote of £175.92 is taking the pith in 2025. That was Skoda Fixed price servicing at participating dealers cars 3 to 10 year old..
  15. Clean up and rust inhibitor / converter applied at the very least before any further costings applied should be the plan. IMO.
  16. Considering that some euro 5 1 8 TSI,s used 1 litre of oil per tank full of petrol and dealership had staff that could say the was within tolerances, 1 litre between services was a win. Not that we know if that was fixed servicing so 9,400 miles / 372 days or sooner.
  17. The issue was the 1.6tdi and AdBlue and not getting what they required emissions wise for the WLTP and RDE2. No chance of kidoligy anymore.
  18. @Graham Butcher Luckily @ Stirling Park & Ride for those prepared to pay 20 pence a kWh more to get a charge there is the Shell Filling station or the Osprey Chargers & the Marston Hotel & Eatery. Good for those where money does not matter, or the employer is paying. £8.50 for maybe 45 miles worth of electricity.
  19. @Paws4Thot I know I am on your blocked list. But have we not many of us used unmanned pumps without issue. Tapping a debit or credit card and buying what we want up to £99 or what ever. So WTF has that to do with the Real World of electric cars? The Truth of Electric cars. The charge on my card is for £10. 15.4 kWh. So for 76 miles of driving to back to full just about the cost of a petrol car. The 76 miles was done with a charge at a tariff of 6.7 pence. There was showing 47%, 50 miles range left. The next 200 miles will be at 50 pence on 11 kW AC, then another charge in Stirling at about the same £10.00
  20. Officially according to Skoda /VW UK 3 year / 30,000 miles. Haldex AWD. VAQ front, Front wheel drive was the same but changed to 2 years / 20,000. But only according to sons service desk staff. Some do not know what the VAQ is. @PeteJManchester do you have a awd vRS estate?
  21. Perth Park and ride chargers all busy. Decided not to go to Dunblane a miss and go to SEPA Stirling. Out of service. Came to Castle View park and ride. 3 cars charging and only getting 26 kW. The Merc left to go to Shell charger. That charger then cut out twice on me. Now on a 2nd charger and getting 39 kW max. Just as well in calm frame of mind and not in a hurry. The guy in the new Vauxhall has a flight to catch and had never used a charger. Got him started and just slow charge but he just needed to add 30 miles. Nice hire car. PS. I am not seeing I have been charged twice the £2 min charge for false starts. That will be yet another dispute with CPS if I am. 65 pence a kWh here now. Been here 1 hour and have managed to get 13 kWh of charge in 24 minutes on this charger.
  22. 22*oC is not that much of an issue to get the temperature down to. Obviously once reached keeping blowing cold air would bring the temperature lower so something needs to happen. Is it set to AUTO? Personally 18*oC inside a car is too hot for me.
  23. ? What is the outside temperature and the cars interior temperature and what temperature are you requesting? Does the cars interior get to what you are asking for?
  24. Yes, it is standard on cars that come with towing preparation.
