Dealer forgot to transfer V5C to us!
@Rory A car in the showroom will need First Registered maybe before the next quarter or a new Registration month. It can go in any Staff members name, then become a demonstrator. 3 months or 3,000 miles and then a nice dealers profit because Tax Payers / HMRC are generous. Ex Management cars. Kidology. People are sucked into their fibs.

Tyre pressure warning and other lights.
'Shirley' was off that day at the Engineering meeting so what you have is what you have and that can be warnings.

Tyre pressure warning and other lights.
@SpeedIsYourFriend Resetting the TPMS requires the car to be stationary ignition on. Always worth reading the Owners Manual. ? What does tyre pressures being fine mean? When where they last set at whatever pressure when cold, was the cold then the same as cold now in the summer? The warnings come as a different tyre circumference shows from the last time set. That can happen with a wheel sitting in the sun and getting hotter, or a brake binding or a bearing overheating. Basic stuff really. Then low batteries can cause warnings for whatever and when ever.

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?

? Did you actually check the 4 tyres pressures and adjust and reset the TPMS?

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?
Even where the Pollen / Cabin filter gets replaced at a service i think best to then be sure the job is properly done. Take it out, vacuum the area and wash / disinfect it and dry and put back in that new filter. Then there is checking the Coolant Level and see is it filled to MAX or by the time you got home has it set it's own level. Check the OIl Level cold as they handed the car back, and also at Normal Operating Temperature to be sure they put enough oil in. Check the Tyre Pressures they set and reset if needed for your need and reset the TPMS. Just because they do services every working day in workshops does not mean they do it right or can be trusted. Then, was the Road Test done? HAS THE BODY INSPECTION FOR THE CORROSION WARRANTY BEEN DONE? You pay a premium price for Main Dealer Servicing, so be sure they do at least the basics correctly.

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?
They think they are the Gate Keepers. The Computer might say no, well these sometimes idiots have not the sense to call a friend or people that now. Brake Fluid now @ 2 years first not @ 3 years and each 2. VAQ (Front Diff) now @ 2 Years. Mk4 Octavia. Some are saying Haldex @ 2 Years. 1.4 TSI PHEV Fixed Oil & Filter oil changes. Some are saying Annual Servicing. Well no, it is Oil & Filter that is Fixed, and the rest can be look see and report, and still b-annual Servicing.

Pollen Filter can only be replaced as part of a Major Service?
The Pollen filter has been in the UK shown for 2 decades as @ 2 years / 20,000 miles. (or sooner.) Skoda UK changed in 2019 from calling it Interim / Minor or Major Services of a Fixed Service Regime. They went to Oil & Inspection Services & Extended Scope @ 3 years. As it is Pollen Filter, Fuel, Air filter, Spark Plugs became extra cost/ When it was Major Services it was not a Major at the First 2 years, but a pollen / cabin filter change was due. The Air Filter changed to at 6 years / 60,000 which is ridiculous if they never check it.

the truth about electric cars
I have Credit on PodPoint as my default chargers. The easiest to add credit to as needed and the chargers I really have had no issues with. 62 or 65 pence Rapid charging. I still occasional plug into the AC sockets and can get maybe 10 miles added range in 15 minutes. Free. @ Tesco PodPont it is 44 pence a kWh AC 7 or 11kW. Angus Council 55 pence per kWh for any charge, AC or DC

the truth about electric cars
Having looked at where and what i might have to pay if i Public Charge where i am going from tomorrow the tariffs are accurate. When you mess about and an app does not work and you get no answer on the phone or they are no help and can not get the chargers started you might well just use Pay & Go and the expensive tariff if you have messed about for 20-30 mins already. Vow not to use them and then when needs must you do.

the truth about electric cars
Zapmap has been hopeless for accuracy, but so is Electroverse. INSTAVOLT and others are ripping off then. 85 pence. GeniePoint 85 pence. Osprey 79 pence at Starbucks, & 85 pence someplaces . Fastned 85 pence all as shown on Shell Reach App for Dundee. Evyve 75 pence. Highland Council Chargers Scotland 70 pence. BP Pulse 150 kW 83 Pence. BP App. MFG 79 pence. SSE Dundee 69 pence. When talking average price Rapid and Ultra-rapid no idea why he mentions prices that he did there which are for 'Fast chargers' SLOW 7 / 11 kW AC. Shell Recharge 7-22 kW AC 75 - 79 pence. (But these people get Shell Recharge Cars for Business use, even with a PHEV.) Roaming. Up to as much as 93 pence.

Dealer forgot to transfer V5C to us!
If you paid for it you owned it, they were only the Registered Keeper. Let your Insurance know that you mislead the to you the Registered Keeper was. Let the Dealership pay out for their error if there is any issue. ? Were the the Keeper or was it the previous person while they had it in trade? Was it taxed last time on their Insurance?

Long pockets, short arms and fat fingers. Never spend your own money when other people will just give you stuff!

the truth about electric cars
As i posted last week, we are paying for the Royal Cars to be converted to run on Bio- Fuel. Expensive conversion and fuel. KC3 as Charles the Prince of Wales has had a Tesla loaned by Elon Musks brother for years and that was at Dunfries House. Elons brother doing business with the now KC3 for Wine. Then KC3 has already been using an Audi EV as has his son and Heir. Keep the Heritage Connection, that could have been any EV from a German owned company so a Rolls Royce or Bentley BEV.

Is this covered by paintwork warranty
Reasonable, but then you never spotted it until the paint was coming off. The Salespeople can pick up faults when making offers to take a car as a trade in but then as far as selling, blind. As it is this tread has who they are, and maybe the 'Branch Manager' will decide that all publicity is not good publicity. As it is it is his or her boss you maybe want to be talking to. You might be wasting your time though. Because you never spotted issues and i assume you washed and polished the car.

@Maxi24 What was this persons job, sales, servicing or workshop? Was it the Warranty Manager for that branch? Was the car with you? TERMS OF WARRANTY, or just the way to deal with stuff. THEY TAKE THE PHOTOGRAPHS. Who had the car before they got it? Skoda Approved used car. Rigours checks. Oil & Inspection Services and Extended Scope includes bodywork checks. But if the paint was good enough when polished and waxed then someone that could not care less can miss a repainted panel.

Coasting, pcv valve
There are plenty that can get more range out of a tank of fuel when using coasting rather than not. But then there are engines from 90 ps- 280 ps or more petrol or diesel then different DSG,s, from different generations. So an generalisation is just that. No point saying what others can not get just because you can not get the same. Location location location. As to terrain what goes up comes down. Many can benefit from coasting dependent on where and how they use the vehicles. As to 'Engines off', that is not happening with the cars discussed here with a Skoda other than rolling to a halt. Then with ACT / COD there is 2 cylinder shutting down. 2 out of 4. Bentley or Audi and overs can have 4 out of eight or 6 out of 12 shutting down, and coasting and using gears according to the terrain / road and GPS. As to a 1.0 TSI & a DSG, easy to just see how you do and if you do not like it then do not use it, as to selecting ECO, well that could well be an issue were there is no fuel saving.

False Alarms
The issue might well be the Original Battery in the Alarm / Siren. Nothing to do with the 12 volt battery. If you look for the threads using a search you will see where people have replaced the battery and not a complete unit.

Gearbox fault on startup and Cruising speeds
The DQ200 is not very poor. There can be issues. Too many do not know what they are doing or speaking about. World Wide recall 2009-2012 that excluded Europe who got a Service campaign from 2014. Synthetic oil change to mineral and a software update. '34F7'. 2017 the Service Campaign started in 2017 on , 2013-2015,s '34H5' Sofrware update. Now recalls 3 times in Australia on them, some up to 2016. And there are 2 oils, in the MCU and in the box. Too many have no idea how to correctly fit a New MCU, oil filled first, or a refurbished. That includes Main Dealers techs in lots of cases. Watch the Youtube vids by the Professionals, the companies that do the Repair / Upgrade Kits and the Refurbing of MCU,s. Lots of people paid a lot for parts and work when it was the fork selectors that were the issue.

The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC
@lol-lol Will the UK be forced, or might it just be the new Government want to not be falling out with the EU. Seemingly Johnathon Reynolds MP has signalled that the UK will stick to the 10% tariff at the moment. The UK has to be getting the EV,s from someplace and getting them on the roads and not just Manufacturers first registering new ones and them sitting unsold as Nearly New cars at dealerships or in storage someplace.

@Gaz Different software for the DQ200 DSG with your 1.8 TSI 192 ps GTI with supposedly 250 Nm but the Manual has 320 Nm. VW Kidology. Your car seemingly heavier but actually quicker than the lighter more powerful manual. The 1.6TDI has the same sort of issue as the 1.4 TSI Twincharger 180 ps had with the DQ200 DSG.
