  1. 2 dip sticks from VW, are they better than one?
  2. Unlikely that you have, but it is very black from working so hard and you likely have wasted fuel because to cool the low oil level wasted it. EDIT, not so Black i looked again, the tissue shows more how the oil is. Do not go for a Variable / Flexible Service regime, get it on Fixed Servicing Oil & Filter changes.
  3. Well just read the 2 Owners Manual links i posted. Only the 1.2 44 kW euro 5 engine is checked cold. It has 2.8 litres oil capacity i seem to remember. Yes oi an still be up there, there are engines with oil filters on top and ones down below, but VW / Skoda have never changed the procedure. Skoda said WARM, VW, Audi, SEAT said hot, then it became 'Normal Operating Temperature. But dip oil cold, before trips, know where it is, then know where it is later when hot. I wont link the British one, because she never mentions stopping the engine, or it being running first. This is not just for diesels. Yanks, risk averse. & a US Quart is not an Imperial quart. **Red oil can is usually Oil Pressure, Yellow Oil can for Oil level.**
  4. If you had opened the Bonnet, done nothing, not topped the oil up. the warning would go out and for up to 100 km / 62 ,miles which is crap. Once you know there is enough oil in when cold, then after the engine oil is up to normal operating temp then stop. 90*oC or so indicated park on the flat and check the level after a few minutes and if it needs a bit more oil top it up. Not above the flat bit, but as far up as above the cross hatch area. @PilsnerUrquelIf you never checked the Oil level after getting the car back from the service you have no idea if the tech / fitter had enough oil in. Often they do not because they did them cold. Well a little warm because they have them idling not out for a road test then checking.
  5. Loads of people around that think there is nobody to see them so do not indicate, they might not be behind they might be up the road waiting to pull out, cross a road etc. Police Scotland Driving Instructors and many Police Drivers are a nightmare, total ****s in training cars unmarked apart from a wee sign in the Back window and you see this car or estate right up your jacksy as the think they can push to pass, and you should get out the way for their training but you think they want a race. Friarton Bridge and area & also the Glasgow road. Then the Royal Protection guys / gals at Deeside in Audi,s heading to Grantown on Spey and i blew them off when i spotted them behind and then never catching up, and then i thought better slow a bit, they flashed the blues and i let them go. Harry probably driving back then. That was around the time they crashed into an ambulance at the Lecht. Got that T Shirt from Perthsire, and when i was at the filling station i asked the Instructor if he thought the covert training without blues was driving with Due Care & Attention and did he know the stopping distance at 70 mph. That was when they still got BMW,s. My young lad thinks no need to indicate either.
  6. @BobbyPollock There were a good few other Skoda Approved Repairers you could have had the car too under warranty, did you try booking into them? Is it Park,s Hamilton Skoda you are warning against? Good call there if so.
  7. They know the type of customers they get staying. Anyone know how much the tariff is for charging? I doubt i could afford to stay there though. I see Longleat, 35 chargers, that would be 70 charger ports. Difficult to set up, only charges overnight from 11 pm. That is on PlugShare. 39 pence/ kWh. Someone says 3.6 kW on a shared charger. ZapMap says different about charger number but 3 kW and poor Mobile Reception in the car park and had to go to the Plaza. All about the trial and error, but Mr EV might update the experience. I know how he felt, and that is even knowing what can happen and does happen. But 'had it pretty much all day', "7 hours, 8 hours", 30 %. well all day he did about 65 miles if that. Hybrid / Tesla, i take it Editing right at that point.
  8. In the good old days you chose if you wanted it done by selecting, & sometimes with some cars the Dealership had to set it for you. If it can be reset that is not a modification, it is there now in the car, Factory approved software.
  9. That is different then. So when you open the drivers door when the car has been stopped a while it primes the fuel. I take it you open the door to open the bonnet. That will be the buzzing.
  10. It is not going to sort it;s self then, best have it looked at.
  11. When you turn off an engine it still makes sure it cools it's self. There is coolant being pumped.
  12. @GedSmit Is this your own cable charging at home or on public chargers? Is it the car you are locking and unlocking as well as the stop charging / release button?
  13. @PPIZuluWelcome. Which is your Local Skoda Dealership? Would you really want to put the tyres you need for where you drive on 19 or 20" rims? Maybe just as well to ignore the Skoda offerings. @Carlstonis who know all the why and what fors about Rims, Widths etc. The Approved sizes for the vehicles / models / engines etc. Did the Parts Department really talk to a VW Group Technical Department?
  14. @OrenJFWas that Skoda UK,s Customer Services Contractors you asked or was the enquiry put to anyone technical? Is it not Eibach or one of their Approved Dealers that you should be asking? Dealing with this lot is not going to get you far about anything technical with a Skoda.
  15. @Damo222If you just do a quick search there must be a dozen threads with the info and guides to what you need.
  16. Just a personal thing, i would be leaving well alone if the car runs well. & if not ragging it like it is a sports car.
  17. @Jonnyhatesjazz70Have you had this car since new, or that long that you know the engine has not had work like a new chain and tensioner before you got it?
  18. The Low Tack upholstery rattle cans i have used in the past do not come through and stain. No idea if OK or not, if that is the going price for a trades person to do the job and there is no competition in your area that will be the price. ? Are you in Spain and would having it done in Spain or in the UK? example. but there are lots of makes.
  19. Welcome. Do you mean doing it in someway other than using upholstery adhesive?
  20. That looks like being when the car left the production line then and not when the engine was assembled.
  21. @pinkpantherIs it CrossClimate 2 you fitted or CrossClimate SUV ? Or even the CrossClimate 2 SUV.
  22. You can get a very different price when standing at the desk at a ATS Euromaster fitting centre. Staff who are usually very busy checking the screen & availability. Cheaper than the website has coming up quite often.
  23. @pinkpantherwhen you said the tyres on the rear now were 11,000 miles on the front there was no mention of them being only 6 months old, which is rather different from maybe 11.000 miles and 2 years or more old. CrossClimates can be very different prices fitted when bought at BlackCircle & fitted at ATS Euro Master or bought and fitted from ATS Euromaster. Both companies owned by Michelin.
