  1. http://www.facebook.com/Bizsocialnetwork I thought that by this time there might be some more on this. From MG or the driver or even Police Scotland. Even just advice as in 'what should you do if your car becomes possessed by demons or whatever'.
  2. 'Coasting' Might well be something that @STEMACneeds to be reading up on.
  3. Welcome. I do not think that you have this in your 2014 1.2 TSI, but others might know. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507314-dreaded-silca-bag
  4. @domhnall'Card fees' the same card fees each time you tap your card maybe in a supermarket for just a £1 purchase, or anyplace else, buying fuel etc. No minimum spend for years now to use plastic as back in the day. Still 2 litre minimum fuel delivery though. The UK Government are taking the p!th with the Net Zero thing. As it is BP, Shell and others might have various divisions from the Oil & Gas and nothing to do with the Electricity & Charging infrastructure, but that is a nonsense and they have the profits and are even getting tax breaks to decommission Oil & Gas rigs, and sell off to others and take out new licenses. As to the cost of Electricity North of the Border, it is tied to Oil & Gas prices while it goes to waste and is not exported / bought and those that can generate it are earning to not generate. That the whole kidology of getting to Net Zero. The National Grid is at it, and the Chancellor is flying kites about £1,000 to those in England and Wales that could be getting pylons near to their properties. ? Are you getting 20% VAT back on your Public Charging? BP Pulse back office is hopeless. CPS up til the changeover was BP with the contract & supposedly doing the back office and that was SWARCO doing it for them. I know what the chargers cost for the commercial businesses, and i know the £80,000 + grants that were got in Scotland for Private concerns that had chargers for their own use, put them as Out of Service and did not honour the terms they got the grants with.. The £60 million and the millions coming in now from Tax payers to some and such as others. Perth & Kinross had the money from the EU years ago that is now being spent at Broxden park and ride. While the chargers are down that were there. Ingilston Park and ride is a disgrace down for 3 weeks now with the Rapids. Hermiston is on my account for 3 x £1 where chargers did not start charging.

@ChoclabDid your Octavia also require the Recall Action / Software update in the Engines from around 2018? This was said to affect the Manuals, but there were those with DQ200 DSG,s that had issue with the box and there was eventually software updates after VW / Skoda saying not required. Do you know when your Software Update was carried out on the Octavia,s DSG and did the engine have the Software Update as well?
  6. @Sammybox88Have you had it from new or newish and being doing that 30,000 miles or so a year?
  7. @STEMAC Is this a Superb rather than an Octavia? The issue is with it going to EV drive is it not? Looks like they need to get another technician on to your car. ? How many miles has it done and were the Recall Actions carried out on the car? The Service Manager is not a Technician is he or she,? They need to escalate it to the Area Warranty Manager who can get Skoda Technical involved.
  8. Welcome to the forum. How many miles has the car covered? Sounds just like it is doing a regen. ? Are you driving about in town all day or out on the open roads? Is it a Taxi / Private Hire car driving about?
  9. I love watching how he handles cars.

Power is not always cut with TC / ASR with the DSG,s be it a 7 speed wet or 7 speed Dry, or a manual. Look at if the car has EDL, XDS or XDS+ & then you can get 'Brakes' nipped at to stop wheel spin, and then if wheel spin is not under control there can be power cut / reduced. There is also Off, as you might want to get a vehicle unstuck or with Snow Chains fitted. (See owners Manual.) Then we have FWD or the AWD (Haldex) vehicles. They will not have a DQ200 DSG / 7 speed dry.
  11. This vid is pretty much showing the truth of travelling with a MINI electric. If i was in a wheel chair it would be the very last EV i would have. I knew what the short range they have would be like for public charging. Luckily i do not have charging this slow happening. ...................... This week one day i have over 4 hundred miles to do and i really have about 12 hours to do it in. Home to back home. About 8 hours driving and maybe around an hour in the vicinity of the airport. 250 miles, then a break and near 200 miles back. Taking the Diesel. I could not care about how much it costs, and even if i had an EV that could do 300 miles on a charge i would take a diesel or a petrol. No snow forecast mid week, but there is possibly by the end of the week. Looking forward to getting my MINI out in the snow. .............................. Below. When you are starting a charge that Orange circle before the car starts charging can be a hold your breath moment. After a few failures your heart can sink. If it goes quick to the Yellow charging circle you are not singing yet, it can stop in less than a minute. The good thing is the predicted to Full / 100% is usually much later than it will actually take, sometimes even 30 minutes or longer than it will be even when a charger is not charging very quick.
  12. It is to VW 508 00 / 509 00 that you require. 0w 20 FS IV. ( VW 508 00 for TSI, the 509 00 part of that for TDI,s) Even Tesco or Asda have the right stuff on the shelves.
  13. A 7 Speed wet clutch DSG if fitted to a AWD a 1.5 TSI or a 2 litre is a DQ381 & down not need 40,000 miles Oil Services (or 38,000 as Audi say) They are @ 80,000 miles, but you might not want to leave than that long. DQ250 DSG, 6 speed wet have a 40,000 miles schedule for servicing.
  14. Top Gear was there a long time before the trio. Quentin Wilson was there. But first lets not forget Angela Ripon. That was when i watched it when first on the telly.
  15. Carry on being entertained, That is what iti s supposed to be about is it not? They just earn money from clicks and anything that might come their way.
  16. @Graham Butcher From your post 2 up. That refers to another thread where there as attempts at a wind up. PS You took a top line and a bottom line and put as a quote. Naughty. If you do that with Suella Braverman's letter to Rishi Sunak it reads very different. These people are in the Media Business, that is where they earn their living. So that is the Motor Industry and it was ICE vehicles for decades for some.
  17. What guff. They are employed or self employed, unemployed with vested interests, making a living or not, just like everyone else. No idea why anyone would think that money is not involved in making video's be that from their own sources or others and that there is money to be made or just covering making them and keeping things rolling along. They are professional or semi-professional or amateurs, Vloggers, Bloggers or Journalists are reliant on getting cars lent buy business or by owners of cars or like some, they do the cars they lease or own.
  18. They do not like too helpful people with Customer Service Skills or anyone with a knowledge of cars. A NVQ in poor communication skills is all the need. They choose them very carefully, selectively Deaf, dumb and blind is perfect, and with short or selective memory. On the job training by someone clueless other than on 'upselling'.
  19. Hardly rocket science or requiring much thinking to know what they are about. Clue in the name really of the channels or videos.
  20. Anyone at a dealership that says there is no need to give a owner a record of work or parts fitted to their car are talking rubbish as usual. No Data Protection issue. The Cars owner / keeper / driver is responsible for it's safety and its maintenance. Just speak to the Dealer Principal and ask what they think their employees are playing at and ask they for the information regarding your property. If there are issues ask the Warranty Provider who is paying for the work to be done to itemise what was done. As it is it only lasts the length if the warranty unless some contribution / payment is made by you.
  21. @EnterNameYou best go wind up @Lee This thread is 'The truth about electric cars' & the truth involves people making a living or a 2nd income from promoting EV,s or just even discussing them or supposedly telling people not to get them. The daft dude producing the Videos that has been driving subscription / leased / rented cars for years is an 'influencer' seemingly and as such has to tell people he is receiving 'For gain or reward'. His good lady often makes more sense than him. Or even you IMO. For balance these 2 just do it for pin money and have no sponsors.
  22. There is nothing you can do if they got the correct MCU yet installed wrongly? ? What country are you in. In Australia there are Recalls, the 3rd now on the MCU,s. This is nothing to do with the one from 2009-2012, there was another from 2013-2015 for a software update, but in Audtralia it covers cars up to 2016.
