  1. 2*oC. , car roof has ice on it, not the glass.
  2. @dbolton Are you saying that at a service they put the additive into a tank of fuel regardless of what amount of fuel was in and serviced the car and did no more than a road test for miles covered? ?Why were you not using the additive put in by yourself between the 8,000 mile intervals? You cover a lot of miles to be servicing / doing oil changes every 8,000 miles. Any reason why you are servicing a TDI at such low miles covered?
  3. Yes but it as a job on the side. Is he taking out expenses and then making that sort of money. Fuel / energy and accommodation for the job he is going to or the youtubing while doing it. If it covers all this eating drinking and being a bl00dy moan about doing it that is win win chicken dinner. Or Fish & Chips, All Day Breakfast etc. Graphic Designer / IT / Webpages, all good on the Southern district. It is like e-bay selling as a hobby that actually is a business / self employed.
  4. He is in the Youtube business and clicks & buying cars. It will all come right, did he really not make sure the batteries state was checked before buying before to put lipstick on a pig and have an updated TESLA? He can get a battery from other than TESLA. like from the Salvage Yard we watched on the video with Johnny Smith. There is someone that thinks first and then buys cars and has all the ducks in a row. Just a load of **** and Bull, like the muppets that buy Mk2 Fabia vRS for much cheapness and want to know how to modify before they know the engine or DSG is any good.
  5. I see that it had done 37,000 miles 2 1/2 years ago, how many miles on it now?
  6. It was punted because the Battery was going out of warranty and because who had it knew it was gubbed. Not rocket science or anything new when something looks too good to be true.
  7. Welcome. Driving and you looking ahead in the snow or after the snow seems to be all you can do. ? Have you not tried polishing or using something to stop the snow sticking when you had it happening? Not that i would expect that to make any difference in that circumstances.
  8. Try a few keywords on Google Images or search engines, and you will see ones, and even threads from Briskoda with a search.
  9. Time will tell if really their claims and pay outs have increased to such an amount that EVERYONE'S insurance has to go up to cover the cost of EV,s. Or if Floods & car damage and a War in Ukraine, and the rise in the cost of living has gone up with wages etc. If they are making more or less profits, paying more taxes or just some are spending so much on Advertising and promotion and sponsorships and dividends. There will be Watchdogs / Motoring Organisations that are businesses and have breakdown and insurance departments that are a bit over the top with pricing or renewals, or the Government / Parliament who have elected members with investments in Inurance businesses or Peers of the Realm that will have vested interests. Nobody wants the general public to pay for Green Motoring for the few, or to have to pay for pollution and the NHS and other stuff and yet they have no cars, do not use trains, do not have very much but need home / contents insurance, pet insurance / health insurance and pay tax on top of policies having paid tax on the money they earned first, even taxed on interest they get from savings from the people they save with who are the same people involved with insurance underwritting.
  10. It must be true then. Or a bit true, or true for some. Discuss, maybe here please and not in every other thread about EV,s.
  11. Welcome. No they do not all fail. Are you looking at 1.2 TSI Yeti, FWD, because they have DQ200 DSG,s or 1.8 TSI if not AWD, or 1.6 TDI,s, 2.0 litre TDI or TSI do not. There was a Recall in Australia in 2012 to do the Service Campaign '34F7' on cars 2009-2012. Synthetic Oil changed to mineral. Then a Recall on ones 2013-2016, repeated 3 times now. So any DQ200 DSG should really have had that recall actions. DQ250 Wet Clutch DSG require Oil & Filter changes every 40,000 miles or sooner and the Haldex a clean out and oil change every 30,000 miles / 3 years or sooner.
  12. Just a new thread and really just involves EV,s because EV,s might be involved, as are e-Scooter, e-Bikes or disposable vapes. Another Car Park fire last night and at an Airport in the UK and a partial collapse. You can find the story where you get your news.
  13. I had to check the DVLA site with the Reg No. to know what it is. Who knows without doing a check?
  14. Allowing people to pay to take higher emission vehicles in is a money raiser. It is a con. Forget having passed a MOT, or too young at under 3 years for a MOT. Ban all high polluting ones. Set up emission testing centres just like they did with Covid and vaccines and with hospitals or like they have plenty Military, Ex Military, police etc for Royal Weddings, funerals etc. FREE testing. Just run that 24 hours a day for a number of weeks and then you know how many you need to carry on testing. Have them in areas around the counties for those that want a test or that will want to go to LEZ,s. Have people do drive through testing and get a window sticker if the vehicle meets whatever they want met. 1 month to comply or banned from entering the Low Emission Zone. ANPR, car / van seized / uplifted if it is found parked. Job Creation, and there are already traffic or community warders or others about enforcing parking etc.
  15. **** sounding cars which is just how they are IMO. You are just going to be drawing attention to yourself, is it not better to make the car quicker if you need to or just use the accelerator and not announce to people just going about minding their own business that someone is driving a warm hatch about.
  16. An hour does it if you were getting a first appointment Thomson & Potter Skoda Perth. Is Bitz Garage Nairn any good for you? Yes a 6 speed wet clutch DQ250. EDIT. Never noticed you were on Skye. Sorry.

LOL at Essex. Rishi Sunak thinks Manchester is in the North. EDIT, then Hampshire. There are more RWD or AWD BMW,s or actually even Range Rovers slip sliding in Glasgow than further north if it gets a bit icy. Glasgow is in the South of Scotland and maybe a but North of the North of England which is not that far up the UK.
  18. There charges are ridiculous but if you must use them and pay that then you want the filter changed. Personally even with time and fuel costs i would go for a day out to Victoria Garage Maud rather than give them the business.
  19. @solomanWelcome. A mod might move this to the Fabia mk2 section. 2010-2012 1,4 TSI 132 kW Twincharger has a CAVE engine & 2012 late to 2014 a CTHE. No stop / start.
  20. The Porsche charger which he told us he got a discount on was not that price in a previous video. I expect the Food Reviewer who is a commercial driver and pretty much one hand on the wheel is going to find that like many others if they done want you they quote ridiculous prices. He is a driver for gain or reward. Not Social, domestic or pleasure. What is all the i will not name the company crap you can read it in the newspapers? Very Farage! This Expensive to buy EV stuff even for his daughter really a nonsense or to rent. A 2nd hand crash in value according to him.
  21. 'Dry your eye,s mate!' Subscribe and Like as he is on his uppers, he lost so much money on renting a Porsche. Well not really. PS For his trip with Geoff. Obviously the have to get to the North before returning. Very expensive Highland Council Charging one up there to charge before returning. John O' Groats to Perth Porsche 229 miles. Perth to John O' Groats strangle much the same.. Tesla chargers for non Tesla in Aviemore if a splash and dash needed. Cheap enough, You has very cheap charging @ Porsche. 80 kWh @ 30 pence £24.00. 4miles per kWh X 80 = 320 miles. 3.5 miles per kWh 280 miles. 3 miles per kWh 240 miles.

@carefreeNot a pop but it would be good if you said 'where in the UK it is your are driving during winter months'. Is it in any hilly areas, areas with roads that do not get salted / gritted or any area where people might take part in Winter Sports out doors, not just at a Indoor Ski Slope or Ice Rink or Ice Wall?
  23. Lots of threads in the Mk2 Fabia section from those with vRS needing their DQ200,s done. Someone posted £1,200 last week done in Glasgow. It is pick a price any price, location location location and if you are treated like the Goose that lays the Golden Egg. New / Refurbished MCU are a common discussion and plenty threads in the Fabia mk2 Section. Some showing the invoice. So ask where you are getting the work done because what others paid in different locations means noting. I know someone good and fair priced, but he is booked out for months.
  24. @Graham ButcherThe thing is that is about different class / level or cars, different tech from the lower priced, smaller sized basic cars that had no sliding sunroofs, electric folding mirrors etc. The same thing happens with EV,s different generations of Clean Sheet cars like Leaf or Zoe or cars that come as ICE vehicles and hybrid, phev, BEV. Price points and tech which is more or less basic.
