? What does it say on the Service indicator if you look at that? It left the factory set on Flexible / Variable Servicing so if left on that at the PDI then first service is due in 24 months , 18,000-20,000 miles. If it was changed to Fixed Servicing then that was to 372 days, 9,400 miles. It might be on Variable but left showing an 'INSPECTION' due in 12 months. But there are no INSPECTIONs. Ask a Dealership what an INSPECTION is and how much they charge, There are Oil & Inspection Services, or OIl services, Oil & Filter maybe, as a interim service.

List of EV Tariff for 2.5p/mile motoring
Good value for a cheap pence per mile from that charge. People not familiar need to think though with the 4 hour cheap tariff and a home charger they might get 28 kWh max in the 4 hours @ 9.5 pence, £2.66 & if getting 3.5 miles a kWh that is 98 miles. nice. 4 hours @ 8 pence a kWh, £2.24 Then the 5 hours is maybe 35 kWh @ 9.4 pence £3.29 @ 122.5 miles 5 hours @ 8 pence £2.80 6 hours for 7.5 pence a kWh is pretty damn good if you are doing the miles 42 kWh for £3.15 & with the 3.5 miles a kWh 147 miles. if 4 miles a kWh then 168 miles. This might be of use to @Ovv& others.

DSG 6 speed oil & filter change cost
@paulsie Much cheapness when you can get it, and cash in hand and no receipt is nice, a nod and a wink to the blind man and what the VAT man does not know does not hurt. That does not mean every one can get that deal.

dieselgate recall, X years after?
Euro 5 emission TDI,s with or without the defeat device were not Re-certified / homologated were they some time after 2016 so that they were not going to meet the standard pre 2015 when produced. VW Group would have had to buy them back then in the EU, well not really as they are the tail of the dog that wags the EU. As it was the Euro 6 AUDI, VW & Seat that were certificated late 2015 and on sale that had 'Implausible emission' test results had their sale suspended and then those found to have been tested and mistakes made were bought back and scrapped/ disposed of. Maybe to someplace not too fussy about such things. http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/business/vw-emissions-scandal-nine-vw-vehicles-have-false-co2-ratings http://autocar.co.uk/car-news/business/16-volkswagen-dieselgate-fix-cars-suffer-power-loss-says-uk-court-case

It it bare metal when you expand the picture? Best touch it over with some etch primer or inhibitor then.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
Very very very strange but i am not complaining. I was mumping that at a Tesco 7kW charger i used for 3 years there was no longer 15 minutes charging without 'Confirming the charge' and paying. 44 pence a kWh. Well the MINI plugged in stopped charging before 10 minutes, and 5 minutes even. The thing is that it is taking in 2 kWh in 4 minutes or 5 minutes. Un-plug and plug in again another 2 kW, repeat and another. So what was 60 minutes to get less than 6 kW in other cars is taking me 15 minutes. 6 kWh x 4 miles a kWh is 24 miles for just a bit of effort and i am doing nothing anyway. It is 2 kWh a time not just 2%.

Superb Mk4
I do not need spectacles for distance / driving, but i do need reading glasses to read the tiny stuff on a dashboard or to the left hand of the car in a right hand drive cars, or even on many cars touch screens. So no bi or vari focals just the reading specs on the top of my head and needing dropped down when needed to scope out tiny symbols. Large Font option is not beyond the wit of man or car engineers / designers. Or just a bit bigger lettering or symbols. They will learn when they get older probably and drive some of the stuff they designed and produced.

Paint chipping
If. But the OP is not leaving the car for a long time are they unwashed, unpolished, in waxed. Maybe they are, maybe someone sprays brake fluid about where the car gets parked or wash parked at a garage, dealers or somewhere. Or horrific liquid in their windscreen washer or A N Others. Ps. Is it eating it off to the BARE metal or BARE plastic if left as is? Long enough.

Huge jump in premium!
It is a Journalist running a story feed to them by a Spin Doctor from a Government Department or the Met Police. All good stuff. They just need to get on with addressing Knife Crime, Moped robberies and the theft of Moped, Motorbikes & Push Bikes /e-Bikes. The Home Secretary are going to have the Police taking action on all crimes. Once they weed out all corrupt Police Officers they will have lots of available officers, or maybe quite a lot less.

Paint chipping
? Who is spraying the brake fluid about in the vicinity of the OP,s car and when was that done, as in how long ago. Next time you can get your hands on a recent panel from a Skoda maybe at a breakers or something you have for doing test sprays on put some brake fluid on it and leave out in the sun.

Vibration and Drone to Motorway Speeds - Audi A5 STronic DSG
@Lamont1980 Has their Master Tech how did not fit the new flywheel as that was farmed out to The Specialist they use going to support the requirement for a replacement S-Tronic box from Germany or any in stock in the UK since the car needs fixed for you or before going back on sale to the next unfortunate? Or are they ruling out that it is the Gearbox and trying to find what is wrong from the book of ideas? PS. Did the SPECIALIST that was sent the box ever get a chance to see the car or drive it since someone else refitted it?

Paint chipping
Not quite so sure on Brake Fluid damage. Easy test, you take some brake fluid and try a test on a small area out of sight like under the bonnet, or maybe you want exposed to sunlight and apply drop of brake fluid. After the paint has been inspected obviously. See what damage the Brake Fluid does. Industrial Fallout, from near where parked might well be anything. Even agricultural fall out where there is spraying of crops can be an issue. Rural issue.

Huge jump in premium!
Do they mean the 'Advertising of', the Selling of, the importation of or the possession of the equipment. Time that DPF removal companies were stopped from trading or advertising. ? How is the UK Government doing on 'Stopping Small Boats'. Has no VED Disc on vehicles and ANPR stopped illegal vehicles with no MOT or Insurance or VED being used on the Kings Public Highway?

Direct TPMS retrofit
Indirect is faulty if it does not detect a totally flat tyre once moving, but then the driver is pretty hopeless as well. You set the Tyres Pressures, the car logs the diameter / circumference , amount of rotations and will spot a change in size eventually, maybe not if the 4 tyres lose air slowly. Not all 4 need not be to the same pressure when setting. My new MINI has Tyre Pressure Sensors. (BMW had to introduce them many years before others as drivers with Run Flats never noticed Blow Outs!) The MINI is crap and from Reset while Stopped it takes about 3-5 miles to register what the BAR is. It has even had me resetting it with the tyres changed and all 4 at an identical PSI yet showing 1 as at a different pressure. On my young lads BMW it is much better, temperature and pressure shows. PITA is actually getting air in with some Tyre Inflators. The valves are fussy.

Improve handling 1.5 petrol manual Estate
Welcome. (I flagged for a mod to move this.) Best try MODES, and see what you do have & how it reacts before thinking on spending cash money to change parts, Wheels / Tyres. What pressure were the tyres set at when handed over and what did you reset them to for load carried. What tyres / brand are on the car? Size, yes 16", but what size, as in are they 205/60 R 16 , & what is t he Speed & Load rating and are they marked XL? How many miles has the car done, and do the tyres look like the originals or replacements? Not sure that bigger rims and lower profile tyres are the answer to your issue. Others want to go with more sidewalls rather than less. Briskoda is a place where you might get a swap of Wheels / Tyres.

Oil Change or Service
PS Since SKODA UK will often say there is no record of an INSPECTION and report for Paint & Corrosion Warranty and yet show Body Inspection as part of the Servicing Regime but do not have it on the Work Shop check sheet. Be sure to ask if they are doing the Body Inspection for the Corrosion Warranty and putting that on the System. That is not at an additional cost. There were Dealerships that said that was £100 & £100 plus for those that do not have Main Dealer Servicing. They were taking the P!th. You pay a premium for Main Dealer Servicing and giving them an Up-selling opportunity so really they should do work. Get the wheels off, rotate them if you want while they are off, do a road test etc etc. Not just take money for a look see and tick a list.

Oil Change or Service
? Is your car set on FIXED SERVICING? Then you want the Oil changed and then reset to Variable / Flexible servicing Regime if you want. Be sure they have INSPECTION matching the OIl Service. To keep to the Service History showing correctly you can not just reset the 'Service Interval, but some places do because their error, if it was your error they would say they can not do that. ............. There only is Oil & Inspection Services either @ 12 months / 9,400 miles or @ 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles, variable / flexible service regime. (Extended Scope @ 3 years then each 2..) There is no 'INSPECTION', that is an oddity that come up and is not Reset properly. ? How much are any Dealership Quoting for an 'INSPECTION SERVICE'. ? Have your Oil & Inspection Services Annually if it is a PHEV iV because that is what the Service Regime is on them. (1.4 TSI PHEV) As to the other cars / engines they are Fixed or Variable services / OIL CHANGES, depending what you want.

@J.R.I remember the Ford metallic lacquer issue well as i was an apprentice spray painter when the issue was happening and many many years years later was still repainting cars that had eczema. (Any time The Singing Detective was on the telly i was reminded how bad some were.) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/447732-paint-clear-coat-peeling-of-flaking-off http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/472887-peeling-paint-on-bonnet-16-plate-fabia-12-tsi-se http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/386794-paint-problem

Article from Parkers' about diesels in the upcoming London pollution zone (ULEZ)
It is not just Tories it is the Labour party that are going to appease voters by dropping the Green stuff, well in London. All the Labour Mayors fault, not the Ex London Mayor & Prime Minster that knocked about in old cars. The same carry on with house building in England now, forget about pollution and waste water just get the houses up & change any regulations current or recent that were there to help the environment.

Service inspection alert
@LioriKyou can always ask the Dealer principal if they are going to do a free inspection and then set the service indicator since their staff made the error and not you. They never learn unless they are given incentives or penalised.
