Fabia stuck in Eco mode
S good for decelerating without using a shifter to go to manual. For downhills. foot off accelerastor. Good in winter to slow in town without using brakes in winter, ice / snow.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
@lol-lol I have never run it to 0%. When plugged in this morning it was 2 miles / 3%. Then cut out charging after 2 minutes and 1 mile / 3%. If i had set off 6 miles to the nearest 50 kW charger i know it would have got there and showing 0% if set to Green +. Maybe even in Sport, Mid or Green. AA van was just putting a Peugeot e-208 electric's front wheels on a dolly across the road, i never bothered him to ask if flat battery or stuck in drive. Last night i was 25 miles away with 16 miles range as i came off the Motorway, went into Green + & got here showing 6 miles. that was doing 50-60 mph in average speed cameras & 2 30 mph villages. Downhill mostly from passing Kilmarnock to Turnberry / Dowhill and i knew there was a choice of 2 rapids there if the range had not increased. I preferred driving the MINI E to the SE. Driven one E but 3 SE,s. But really not the seats and not that touch screen compared to the old Cooper SE & i certainly would not go without the Heads Up Display. 4 Miles to the kWh was easy to get showing in the MINI E compared to coming out of my car and not getting 3.5 miles a kWh on the same route. I am going MINI shopping this week to see if i can find a Cooper S 2023 5 door, but no hurry. If i see what is dead right i will get one. Maybe we will get a Dacia Spring next year or when Suzuki SX needs replaced. Dacia Spring Van not worth getting price wise compared to just a car and maybe even taking seats out. Really a no brainer as far as price and a car to do 6 miles a day each way and free charging @ other half's work. Not buying one even if cheap just leasing.

Fabia stuck in Eco mode
Good. Is it a 1.0tsi or 1.5 TSI ACT? Coasting operating if no load on the engine. Does that not happen if shifter in S?

3% to 100% 30.6 kWh, £13.48. Car app says 33kW. Including the 2 minutes it was charging before it stopped when first plugged in.

Fabia stuck in Eco mode
@Diermot Is your car going into Coasting Mode. Instead of D7 showing it shows just D. Touch the accelerator or brake pedal and goes back to D7, D6 or what ever? Or how is ECO being shown?

Fabia stuck in Eco mode
I know nothing about Mk4 Fabia,s, but i know they have Dq200 7 speed twin dry clutch dsg,s. Could people maybe say to save anyone looking at their profile when it is a 1.0 TSI or a 1.5 TSI ACT that they have. Not that i can help with which ever, or what spec / trims of Mk4 they have an issue with.

"N" gear automatic
@SoupDragon maybe with your car / DSG do not look for the indicator changing to N. Look for it going from D7 to just D when coasting.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
New DC and tethered charger installed at Girvan harbour. Been in for weeks. Not live yet. I had 3% battery (1 mile) this morning so came early to use AC chargers. Charge for at least the £5 minimum charge.. 47 pence a kWh. CPS card was denied so used ElectroVerse. Called CPS to see why denied, they say unpaid charges Stirling, I said paid. Have receipts. Sort it out. £2 min charge charger cut out and £13 paid once working. Ok. Emailing admin. Not interested in the 2x £5 charges that is was told would be removed and were not. Checked car before leaving it. and AC charge stopped after 2 minutes Called CPS, he started it remote. Now ElectroVerse will take £5 min charge. And CPS / stripe will take what I use. Edit.... 2 hours. 19.5 kWh £9.16. So that will give about 70 miles. About equally to a petrol car..

This morning early 3% and 1 mile after going 500 yards to the charger. 1 false start charging. The 6% / 4 miles was what I arrived with about 10 hours earlier. I was using Green + mode. Starting it was in Mid. It was a cold night.

I never looked. Probably just there because they were behind them on prayer mats. The VW certainly was not charging. Park and ride at airport was full of Hire cars, Polestars.

"N" gear automatic
@SoupDragon Does your car not have 'Coasting' mode? As far as any advice from Skoda / VW group on stopped and foot on brake pedal that is very likely because the UK,s Highway code means nothing as far as they are concerned and rear brake lights.

Service Confusion
^^^ A car 5 months old with 535 miles on it? @Topbox What was the story, is it a Skoda Approved Used car and was it a VW / Skoda owned Demonstrator, Ex Management, Pre Reg car used as a courtesy car or such? Do you have a Service History & a Used car check list for the car?

EA888 evo4 / DNNA vs EA888 / DKZA
NEDC was a car on a rolling road inside a building going through a programme, so not Real World. Even the WLTP is not real world, possible real ambient temp etc etc. & then VW / Audi can somehow manage to get a heavier car with the same drivetrain as a Skoda / Seat get better test results / figures.

Service Confusion
Somebody messed up resetting the Service Interval at some point. If it had a PDI when first registered the car has a Flexible / Variable interval of 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles. So to December 2026, or the miles. If reset to Fixed Service @ the PDI then to 372 days / 9,400 miles. December 25/Jan 2026. Best check what was done, or who did what Pre Sale Check Used car coming to you. They could pay for a Free Service to you now for being hopeless. Keep the cars Service & Maintenance record all correct. & reset to what you want. Fixed or variable servicing.

Porsche Taycan
"Worthless" He says. Ye right! It will earn him some more cash money as people click in to watch. .............. Cars not being Bought Back and Scrapped. Once new control modules are installed & the vehicles are not considered to have a Safety Critical issue then there will be ones for sale from the Porsche UK Dealer network and in the motor trade / auctions and private sales. Available 'Cheap as chips' maybe, doubt that though. He will not tell you not to buy an EV, that will be others, he just points out the pit falls, and puts up Click Bait titles. 'That is part of his job'. 188 miles in 3 hours 15 minutes is a rather nice average speed. Absolutely get that battery lower and get on an Ultra Fast charger like@ Porsche (or Ionity) and get your discount price, fast Taycan Charging and fill it near to the brim. Head for thinking feet for dancing, and the ar53 that is Geoff for the sh!te. (Phone app there to know if car is charging and state of charge or to let you know to get a shift on while offski doing your coffee buying.)

2018 1.0 TSI CHZC Pre facelift Engine Oil
@dewindoeth the 0w 30 FS III will be to VW504 00 / 507 00, so long life oil for fixed or variable servicing.

2018 1.0 TSI CHZC Pre facelift Engine Oil
@bigcar 0w 20 FS IV was and is the correct oil for your car, and Skoda / VW used to recommend Castrol and put a bottle of it in cars. (As stated in various places regarding topping up the different spec so 5w 30 can be used to top up.) Dealers often used Quantum, and still do now, and that is from Fuchs Oils. TPS supply that now. But the OP asked about a different car from yours. Many dealerships do not service engines from Bottles of oil. That never stopped them selling it at the Parts Desk in bottles. Back in 2018 many had not stocked up with VW508 00 /509 00 and had no idea what the car needed. & they were charging £15 a litre back then.

2018 1.0 TSI CHZC Pre facelift Engine Oil
They are not all the same by region or by season. Be that E5 or E10. Storage, and which depots from, that received in the base fuel. Lower Octane /Energy than sold to you & bought & paid for is fraud. They are to meet as a minimum. If not then that is a matter for the Trading Standards / Authorities. HMRC. There is Summer & Winter Formulation, and into the UK can come fuel from the Continent after March and that can be Winter Formulation. ' Less Hygroscopic'.

2018 1.0 TSI CHZC Pre facelift Engine Oil
@dewindoeth I take it you mean you called Dealerships. Was that a service desk person, a NVQ maybe in communications / keyboard skills, no knowledge of mechanical engineering or the ability to Call a Friend or a Master Tech. Trained on the job by someone like the Service Manager who has no training or qualifications in Mechanical Engineering. Parks Skoda Hamilton's Service Person and at the time the Floor Walker Gordon is a moron said VW502 00 / 5w 40 FS was not a Full Synthetic oil and would not use it. Yet they have a Service Offer and that was what was used. There are many that say they only keep / use Full Synthetic oil. They mean Long Life oil. No way Jose should they use 0w 20 FS IV at VW Group Repair Centres / Dealerships on the pre 2018 engines. But as it was in 2018/19 they were using VW504 00 / 509 00 when they were supposed to be using the 0w 20 FS IV. Some took their time learning, and for some it was all a mystery to them even though it is their Full Time Employment.
