There are lots of BEV,s going about as company cars and not family transport. 1 up or maybe 2 occasionally. Taxi / family sized cars that carry just the driver. Surely a given that efficiency should go along with comfort.

If you actually want the Extra Power over the 218 PS Cooper S and the different suspension & tyres then you can expect the ride to maybe be even harder. Strange that it should surprise anyone, but then they are just reviewing. What you get all the time when you get fed up of wheel spin is you get the look at me tarty shiny plastics. (You can have that with the JCW trim on the not a JCW MINI as well.) No idea where he got the body being being stronger from. I will ask him!

@bigcar I would love to see the TPI that the Dealership got at the time your car was getting it,s 5th service. I suspect there was BS from someone at the dealership. The important point is your WLPT Certificated 1.5 TSI ACT with a GPF came from the factory with 0w 20 FS. VW 504 / 507 can be used & not only VW 508 / 509, and actually it could be VW502 00 used with a 3,000 mile Oil & Filter change regime. Tick over is going to be very different, 3 cylinder 1.0 TSI and a 1.5 TSI ACT, but the oil viscosity used in your 1.5 TSI ACT should not be noticeable, but then you are in the UK and really never going to experience -25*oC say. You or anyone could use 97 ron or 99 ron E5 and have the additive package with detergents and maybe £2.50-£3 a tank less it is Sainsbury Super unleaded or Tesco Momentum 99. Maybe even the same price as Shell / BP / Texaco / ESSO E10 95 ron.

For non badge snobs just want cheap reliable transport for maybe up to an 80 mile a day commute. & then day off transport.

@Aspman thankfully i called into Brechin to try again the R5 while on my way to roadtest an Alpine A290 GTS. Cramped and uncomfortable for me. As for the MINI Aceman that was just horrible, just the position of the door handle to get out of it was enough for me to say no nay never. Are you going to check out a Skoda Karoq or Enyaq?

I think you are pre GPF. As it is if a main dealership were using VW502 00 then why would they not still? As it is they might say we only use Long Life oil, but if so then they still need to stock and use VW504 00 / 507 00 for the earlier cars, they can not just say we only have 0w 20 FS IV for everything.

VW 502 00, 5w 40 FS if you do Annual / Fixed oil and filter. VW504 00 /507 00 is perfectly fine for Fixed or Variable Servicing. 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III PS Personally i would keep with the Non Long Life oil for a long lived engine. So VW 502. 5w 40 FS.

He will drill through wall and install the new box. But? His issue about running it from Pole to House is 'They do not get paid for that'. Out of all the EV,s i have been sitting in or tried driving my favourites have been Polestars. Tried 3 flavours. Comfortable..Lovely to drive.

@wyx087 or @lol-lol for this. I am not a business user in Scotland. I am replacing a Diesel Estate with a MINI 5 door petrol & just using the MINI Electric i have for local use and home charging. When the MINI Electric goes back i will get a PHEV. Public Charging is far too expensive now unless using Tesla Superchargers. 2023 cars for me from now on, i loath the new standard safety tech from 2024 into this year.

@Aldfort Where have you seen The Average price for servicing a DQ200? There are prices often given here for a DQ250 or DQ381, one oil and a filter. Not £220 for a few years now unless a nice cheap independent. Thing £300 + now for a DQ381. As it is 4 years never was a Service Interval for DSG,s, 40,000 miles (38,000 Audi) or 80,000 miles DQ381 as given in the UK. DQ200 DSG,s as an when anyone wants, done by someone that does it right. If that is for £220 then 'What is the worst that can happen'. Maybe best spend that on an extended warranty covering the DSG though.

He is just a muppet. Cars have been clocked up for decades to get the tax breaks in the UK. Imported from the Channel Isles. As to relaxed or no need for Planning for EV Chargers in Driveways, Residential Parking, Public Highways in England, that does not mean that the installations have to be to the required standards.

The Chinese Government investigating. No idea why they would investigate as they know everything that goes on. As to the UK Government, they are not investigating are they. the Demonstrator / Ex Management and 3 months / 3,000 year old carry on has been as it is for decades. 0 miles, or 15 miles used cars is a different game.

When you pay for your own fuel & car & no Tax Payer assistance and you have no home / work charging for a BEV then maybe they are just not that 'simply clever'.

It was only according to Skoda / VW UK that there was a 5 year / 50,000 miles recommendation up to 2023. UK not a Dust-rich Country, just one were VW Group UK take the pith. Customers up-sold at every opportunity to keep Dealer workshops busy, yet try getting a service or warranty work done and you have weeks to wait. Once Dealerships would need to being paying for Cam Belts on Skoda Approved Cars if to be Serviced to Manufacturers Recommendations and they were going to have to do 1.5 TSI ACT,s they changed things.
