Coasting?
@leolito You are not using brakes unless using brakes, tapping the brake pedal to be back in drive is nothing. Not using brakes and rusted discs will cost more for many drivers. As far as what you feel about clutches engaging and disengaging and wear and tear it is good that you think you can avoid this.

Coasting?
It will do it going down hill with bends. But you can touch the brake pedal or accelerator and it is back in Drive. Bentley,s. Audi,s, VW,s and Porsche were using GPS early doors to know when to Coast or shut down Cylinders, run EV etc & now there are Skoda & SEATS that know where they are and what is coming up and how much power / cylinders etc is needed or braking or use of the drivetrain, 'Coasting' mode as designed is not like putting a manual or auto into N or clutch in and the Highway Code or advice about Coasting. Does the same thing for you though without needing to do the movement of a gear stick / clutch and you are in control.

1.5tsi ACT cambelt change interval revision?
@Brian15 Good answer for a TDI. Not so a TSI / TSI ACT. Can be Chatbots / AI answering these days. They can get as confused as us when it is not clear what engines people are asking about, or on here posting about.

ECO Mode and Fuel consumption
Aircon on might make any difference or noticeable difference on efficiency / fuel consumption if say set for a 18*oC temp and it is about an 18*oC ambient. Ambient temp and humidity can make a difference to MPG. As can cooling or heating of the interior. But then cold outside is less traction / friction maybe roads, and denser air into the engine. 20 Plus Degree C day times up north & near freezing nights is a good time for comparing economy doing the same trips at the same speeds. We are on Summer Formulation Diesel & Petrol now in the UK.

DSG Gearbox responsiveness
Maybe someone with a Mk2 Kodiaq will be along to comment on theirs compared to the Mk1 they had.
-
Gearbox Response
As far as a TDI a TSI or TSI iV (PHEV) & the DSG it really is a case of trying each. Or more than one of each.
-
DSG Gearbox responsiveness
The OP,s asking if any improvement with a Mk4. Pure TSI or a PHEV are going to be different, best to go take out a demonstrator or EX Management/ Used car and try.

Towing 700kg load
Is it your 184 bhp 2.0 TDI vRS? No problems i would say. Have you not looked at the plate on the B Pillar? Have you a driving licence that allows you to tow legally?

Visually etc. My car of the day -today
I like the cloak of invisibility with this. It would have cars slowing down I expect as arrive from behind.

Towing 700kg load
Have you towed before and know how to check a vehicles permissible weights, braked /unbraked.? I assume it is going on a Trailer, is that a Braked Trailer.

The MINI was coming in for a brake fluid and pollen filter change so I thought I might have a dynamic back road blast with everything off and see the efficiency in a warmish day. Also before taking a new Mini Electric out for a couple of hours. I can't get a roadtest of a JCW Mini as no dealers with a demonstrator. Anyway the New Cooper SE is just a pita as far as I am concerned. Took the used JCW petrol out instead as it is exactly what I want to buy next year. A 2023 model. Great to drive, but too hard suspension / tyres and the seats are too hard. I think it is a 5 door Cooper S from 2023 I will be buying instead of my BMW estate.

the truth about electric cars
I just got an email from Plugshare. I report in at every charger i use or if beside ones that are faulty. PlugShare & ZapMap. I wish others could be bothered to, and also report faulty ones to the operator / call centre. There are ones that i use and weeks or months pass without anyone reporting in.

the truth about electric cars
Seems easy enough for even someone not that bright. You would behave differently. Like with a petrol or diesels. You would put in energy / fuel before getting home. No point rolling up to your home in the ICE vehicle with 10 miles range in the nearest fuel station is 15 miles from you. There are people that do live 15 miles or more from fuel stations or ones not 24 hours. PS. Yes Public Chargers can be Russian Roulette. In my case it is the Council Chargers near that can be crap. 1/4 of a mile away at the Gulf Filling station there is the very very reliable but expensive InstaVolt charger i have only tried out but not used since. It is a location location location thing really for drivers, and head for thinking and feet for dancing.

the truth about electric cars
I arrive home with 5% from time to time (3% indicated has been the lowest) & that is with a battery of just about 33 k/Wh total capacity. About 10 miles from home i know if i need to really ease off weather dependent. I know depending on which of 4 roads i am coming in if there is chargers 2 miles, 1 mile or 1/2 mile away from home.

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
@Graham Butcher There seems to be more complaining or commenting on some MSM anti EV articles. I do see some saying there is censorship on articles or published coverage of EV fires. Oddly by people that found stories and when i look to see if the media covered it there was plenty. MSM, Social, Interweb, Facebook, Tiktok or whatever. Obviously something is going on and that seems to include even Communist States not being able to suppress stuff. ? What are you looking at, not an EV is it?

We really are into Tin Foil hat territory now. Is that the MAINSTREAM MEDIA? Are they gagged in the Western World. Who by is it that President of the USA, or his Best Buddy, Elon, or his ex buddy, Sir Rupert Murdoch? There will be a new Chinese owned EV Battery factory come near to some in Europe very soon. Onward and upwards, maybe up in flames.

One think is almost a given and that is as time passes anywhere there are cars park be it underground, overgound, indoors out there are going to be some electrified among them be that BEV, Hybrid or MHEV. As it is where there is parking there can be charger points next to where or near to where there is parking for ICE vehicles. Bans / exclusions might well happen someplaces and there might well be drivers not even aware of what drivetrain the vehicles have. Plenty going on into the future to keep the various Vloggers / Bloggers making us aware of when things go t!ts up.

Scott And Alana's Yeti 4x4 Modifications And Adventures
My Testing ground overs the years was my local roads, different seasons / weather, and also my offroad outings, a tyro can be very different according to the weather / ground conditions. Different tyres but on rims, change wheels / tyres for different outings or seasons. Some tyres were and are Jacks of All trades, kind of like what you are running in the video.
