Buying first VRS help
Sounds like one to walk away from. Or is it very cheap and you have mates rates with a VW Specialist? When was it first registered.? The Warranty replaced MCU is just covered until the Manufacturers Warranty on the car exprires, so when is that. car 3 years old? Can you purchase an Extended Warranty that will include cover for the DSG. *If one was purchased and needing claimed on could they then say 'Known Issue'. there are known issues, VW Group know they have built DQ381,swith fundamental design, manufacturing, material faults. & given them a 80,000 miles service interval. Tw-ats.* Not sure if better that it has failed already, rather than buying one that has not failed @ 40,000 miles. & costs you lots. Personally i would not be spending out on anything with a DQ381 without having at least 2 years warranty. But with a Skoda Approved Used car if buying one of those you really need to be certain the DSG is covered if that has 2 years warranty on it. ? Has it had the service and spark plugs replaced? If it has a VAQ diff was it serviced?

Short drive though a submerged road
Anything can develop issues from wading through water, especially if hot prior to doing so. Brakes, Catalytic converter, then alternator, wiring loom, connectors. But as far as a gearbox or a DSG it is not much different from driving very wet roads and getting soaked over many miles. People think they could take a Land Rover or other offroad vehicles and wade deep water if a snorkel fitted to stop the water going through the air intake / air filter. Actually they needed Wading Plugs put in the Gearbox, Axle breathers fitted because putting these under water was a pretty good way of it getting drawn into them.

Vid, Renault Zoe 2022 on. CCS or no CCS. No doubt more confusion will occur.
I dont see that many with 3/4 year old plus cars they own paying out to replace a battery because someone points out that is the Service Regime, guidelines, advice, recommendation from Renault. Just like Skoda Owners never replaced Alarm Sirens / Battery units @ 5 years as was shown in the Service Manual when there was such a thing. That was Alarm Replace @ 12 years with Volvos from when Ford owned the company. Actually they lasted for 12 years in many cases and then you knew when replacement made sense.

Gearbox in emergency mode
@New11 Not a case of telling them, you need to get booked in for a diagnosis then from that outcome, is a warranty issue then the approval for the repair.

Brake pedal noise in traffic - related to the handbrake being applied
So not the Hand / finger / parking brake. Brakes though.

Brake pedal noise in traffic - related to the handbrake being applied
@rgrigsby Is it actually the e-brake / parking brake being applied, rear brakes only, or is it 'Autohold' that is enabled and it is the front and rear brakes applied to hol the car? Different things!

Service Campaign 94EW
http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/337617-skoda-service-campaigns-no-recalls-being-done-briskoda-forum Owners of VW Group / Skoda models are more likely to hear about Service Campaigns, Workshop actions or recalls, even DVLA / DVSA Safety Critical ones on social media before VW Group ever tell them.

Service Campaign 94EW
I linked it just to save others going to search for what you posted about. No need for threads on the same Service Campaign Actions on the same or different models if this is what it is and just the car telling people if not a Recall or a Skoda Secret Service Campaign, need to know basis and Service Desk staff might first hear about it from car owners. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
Storing / parking vehicles, BEV or ICE might require removing mirrors from interior or exterior, maybe glass as well. Where there is Sun there might be a fire from the magnification / reflected heat. Doomed, all of us, ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

1.5tsi ACT cambelt change interval revision?
The price of the Electronic alignement Tool kit for doing the Setting up has come done and not the £3,000 or so that they were 2 years ago. Then the Kit for the car can be purchased cheaper now. The time taken might be down by a couple of hours with more experience of doing them. But £450 sounds like a quote for a totally different engine.

Fabia mk11 estate. Convert to disc brakes
There are more threads than just these on converting to Discs with Mk2, be that hatch or estate. Maybe look in the 'Guide Section'. Just a case of getting the parts then.

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
@Graham Butcher I really never suggested that there are not speeders in Scotland just that i do not see EV,s speeding & because the routes are Catch areas, cameras etc. I think as well that many EV drivers, commercial or not realise how easily caught at the time or historically in the Computers on wheels.

3.9 miles to the kWh today over 84 miles of keeping to the speed limits and there were no speeders, maybe because nose to tail traffic pretty much all the way. Pita is ElectroVerse card not allowed this time and needed CPS card. Charging speed good and just need 80 miles range in case of needing to take a diversion. £8.50 for this charge

The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
Chinese Manufactured MINI,s from 2024 will not be part of the longer term results will they? A great reviewer IMO. Facts are good.

Potentially buying a Superb mk3, some questions!
They are on the ball. The belt does last a lifetime. It's lifetime, so is it in dog years or human years. Belt dies and wallet suffers as does the engine. Associated components the belt runs on are also 'Lifetime' components, so how long is that lifetime. Vorsprung Durch Technic, maybe they are good for as long as a 7 year manufacturers warranty in Australia.

The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
Fuel & Energy efficiency really rather crap with these latest models. (everything said or written needs taken with a pinch of salt, they had months now to correct the vid.) NSL,s in the quicker models, but maybe seeing the less powerful ICE & BEV models in a comparison test would be interesting. Glaring error on the versions available is the MINI E has 181 bhp, Not 246 bhp. The John Cooper Works electric is 258 bhp. The Cooper SE as they have is the 218 bhp. NOT 292 BHP. Someone had a brain fart at the graphics dept. (Prices are nothing like shown anymore.) If the MINI SE could do 4 miles a kWh and get 200 miles you could set off from a home charge @ 7 pence a kWh and that would be £3.50, then is you needed to put in 60 miles of charge @ 85 pence a kWh. You need 15 kWh & to spend £12.75, plus £3.50 = £16.25 Just get 3.5 miles a kWh and go 175 miles for £3.50, go to a Tesla Supercharger to add 85 mile @ 60 pence, 25 kWh call it, £15.00, = £18.50. (The Social divide.)

Lane assist is dangerous

Wheel nut
Service managers are just that. Not techs or even fitters. There are some lovely people around and so helpful. Often they move on to bigger and better things. VW / Skoda UK are very likely to have Authorised Dealership happy upselling and too busy to just getting vehicles in and serviced and customers happy and returning. More crap badly PDI,d goes out, software updates and warranty or recalls needed rather than running nice Dealerships, workshops and with well trained staff. Those that are good move on.

Can Skoda tell me details about past services?
@Exkiwi you get all sorts of f crap off them in the UK about Data Protection and Service Desk staff thinking they are gatekeepers. People be them registered keeper, new buyers, mechanics and the likes are just trying to service and maintain vehicles that have the record kept in a VW group system and are being responsible. Drivers being responsible. Their actions is more like being obstructive at times and they forget Corporate Responsibilities and after sales care. I try being nice and grateful but when I need to ask for the Dealer Principal or general manager I remind them they are a service industry selling and servicing motor vehicles and do not be a d!CK head or allow the staff to be. Retract names of staff if needs must. But actually who signs off servicing is important if who did it is incompetent.

I really see very few EV,s speeding on any roads other than motorways in Scotland but there are average speed cameras most of the routes I go or Speed camera vans, marked and unmarked police vehicles etc. What I am seeing is more Electric vans and mini buses really pushing on, tailgating and overtaking quickly were ICE light commercial might not. Those that can not keep up near to speed limits are totally, PITA, maybe just seeking that magic efficiency to get home or to cheap charging of just any charging.

Towing with a Karoq
@thamestrader Vintage rally tomorrow? I had a Metro looked the same. Ex Motability car bought at auction when 3 years old, sight unseen. It was never raced or rallied but did do Auto tests at Alford, Dyce, Forfar and Dundee. The gearbox never broke. It was driven to events and back with 4 wheels and bald tyres and a trolley jack in the rear and a passenger. It was replaced by my mum's Saxo that did the same job but the difference was she never knew what it got used for on a Sunday. It was returned washed and polished. Daisy, a Little old ladies car bought brand new, only used back and fore to the shops and the occasional run on a weekend. Then passed about the grandchildren or partners.
