@Aldfort your money but that really seems to be an expense too far for a DSG with no Service Schedule.

The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
I watched a Vid review this morning of someone doing a "Full in-Depth review" of a MINI Cooper SE. He said he was getting 2.9 mile a kWh and with a 37 kWh battery 100 miles was not enough etc etc. He was not in a MINI E with a 4.2 kWh battery it was a Cooper SE with a 54.2 kWh battery. So much for his full in-depth review & not knowing which car he had been loaned. Most noticeable from the side over the last MINI SE or ICE MINI,s is no plastic wheel arch trims. That you can spot from 100 yards away, when the door handles you might not! Someone read the Media pack. A MINI E. One of the first reviews and still one of very few there are on the smaller battery low powered car.

the truth about electric cars
If getting a car for Business use then renting an BEV makes total sense if you can also get cheaper public charging from Porsche / Ionity chargers or others. Just a tool of the trade for transportation and a prop for your work as far as making videos. If really a 911 Porsche is your wish & your desire then splashing the cash and getting one is just simply clever as you are a long time dead.

Vid, Renault Zoe 2022 on. CCS or no CCS. No doubt more confusion will occur.

I have yet to see a review on a BEV where the batteries are up high maybe on the roof so above the drivers head rather than below the arse of those in the car.

What fantastic news for The MacMaster. He can be done with his car that has brought so much grief and clicks and income.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher You linked the article about what is going on at Porsche UK. Do you really expect anyone here to know more than that, or are there maybe members here that are employees of the DVSA or Porsche / VW UK? Absolutely vehicles that are under a Safety Critical Recall or should be should be kept off the roads. Ones that are with Dealerships but ones with keepers should be off the road. VW Group / Skoda are bad for messing owners about and sometimes accepting cars are unsafe and taking them in until fixed and leaving others out on the road with keepers and not providing courtesy cars or doing a buy back. Other manufacturer groups as well like Stellantis.

What there is is lots of mess beside the clutches. As to oil colour there are various posts on here showing the colour changes. The 'Famous DQ200 Clutch Slip thread' in the Fabia mk3 section is good. That issue came in from 2015 once the DQ200,s were being turned out in big numbers by the Skoda Factory. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/470446-precautionary-dq200-oil-change

2020 vRS 245 - Oil?
0w 30 FS III is simply clever for good engine protection & longevity in a UK vehicle. (TSI) When VW Group went VW508 00 / 509 00 that was not with all engines, there were TDI,s that stayed VW504 / 507. & Dealers used 0w 30 FS III. Actually back in 2018 / 2019 there were Main Dealers still using that in cars at first services and 2nd, and parts department selling that to people with the cars delivered after the WLTP was introduced.

skoda octavia estate scout vrs??? did it exist in 2007
It is dead cheap and could be broken for spares and get that money back plus. Nothing much to do if it does run well and that haldex works. If the rear end is not rotten it needs little spending on it.

The DQ200 is not SEALED for life. The Oil was changed in over 6 million recalled in 2012. People do have both oils changed, members here have it done or do it their selves. @Aldfort you were the one that posted what advice remanufacturers give. I posted further to that. Their recommendation of regular maintenance and software updates. @OccyVRS Skoda Main Dealers will service a DQ200, and some say needed just because the Service Desk staff have no idea about them and that there is no service schedule.

Skoda superb 2016
@FRLIAM Maybe tell the story about the car. Like, a Petrol or Diesel, which engine size, how many miles has it done? Did those mechanics find any Fault Codes, & do any checks of the spark plugs / air filter if a TSI or anything if a TDI?

AdBlue
@Gabbo Surely the AdBlue if not meeting the quality must be HOOKY stuff bought or given to you from a dodgy geezer. Opened container obtained from somewhere or someone or another... From a farm or haulage company and not a Trusted Retailer, or Filling Station delivery system.

Welcome. Just a vRS badge on a vehicle. ? What part of the modification will pump up the insurance on an 18 year old car? Surely they do not load the premium because the wheels are a horrible colour. Take the vRS badge off.

Potentially buying a Superb mk3, some questions!
Oil & Filter service interval is 12 months / 9,400 miles on a 1.4 TSI iV (PHEV). As to the other service items as required, it is still pollen @ 2 years, then brake fluid, air filter, AC etc etc as per schedule / use and not an opportunity to be fleeced. The spark plugs are still at 40,000 miles even though a car might run mainly on electric. Or then again it might not. The DQ400-e DSG is at 40,000 miles. The cam belt never was at never at 43,500 miles and no longer at 50,000 5 years.

@Carst-2018SKODASuperb Who has it to sound better for the driver, the general public who are probably more annoyed than joyed, or is it the MOT examiner or drawing attention to the police that you want it sounding better for?

1.6 TDi mk2 Octavia Speedo over reading
@Warrior193 Oop North in Scotland you will see plenty mile markers for Officers checking. Oop North in Scotland there was a Pilot Scheme with ZERO over speed tolerances & and Education before financial penalties. No taking an Education Course instead of prosecution in Scotland by a company run by an Ex Chief Constable or 3 making a nice little earner. The Advice from the Chief Constables (England Wales) of the 10% plus 2 MPH is certainly not to be trusted in certain areas. As to the 2 miles over, is that maybe about how accurate what ever system is operating. I have had plenty bang to right caught speeding incidents, and i am always careful as far as camera vans go. Average Speed camera routes i use regularly i watch what i am averaging at, and that can be slower than HGV,s from Ireland or Coaches. There are several locations where i join after a camera or leave before the next camera. I wonder sometimes about others that have passed the camera before me and go on past the next one at many MPH over the speed limit. Maybe they think if they see someone that might be local ignoring the limit they can. Like ones that think the posties know. ........................ 10 years ago, how time flies. As did Camera Safety Partnership vans between locations. I reported one that tailgated me and when let past went over the Commercial Vehicle limit. Turned out they have no Tacho. Police Inspector that replied who headed the Tayside Safety Partnership claimed it was Not in Service and a Technician was road testing it.

1.6 TDi mk2 Octavia Speedo over reading
I would suggest that if you know you are going slower than the car says you mentally calculate that and if you want to do 70 MPH you drive at it showing 73, or as many do at 75 mph thinking 72 mph with speed cameras is ok. The reading can ot be the same with New Tyres with good tread depth and tyre pressure high compared to worn tyres and a lower pressure. I run tyres over the OME size normally and a pretty accurate speedo. Sometime Miles travelled from a reset and the Total miles on a car are a tenth of a mile different. And my phone app / GPS reads a bit different in miles covered again by an ickle bit.

"N" gear automatic
@Aldfort Are you intending having regular maintenance carried out on your DQ200, and at what period or miles are you going to have both oil changed? Imagine the potential issues in really hot countries, middle / far Easter, Arabic, Australia etc. Europe 11 years back the Service Campaign. Synthetic oil changed for mineral & a software update. New MCU,s in New Zealand back in 2012. 100,000 mile / 10 year warranty given in China. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/315115-service-campaign-dq200-dsg-oilchangeecu-update-fabias-in-uk Imagine the Global Recall in 2012, EXCLUDING EUROPE UNTIL THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN STARTED IN 2014, then the service campaigns 2017 on and software updates, then Clutch Upgrades and from 2015 the millions of DQ200,s Skoda produce for VW models. Yet never has VW Group revised advice, recommendations or specification for Oil changes of the 2 oils.

Sudden issue. Eml light on
@Rob619 Is servicing up to date? Has it had it,s 2nd change of spark plugs, and when was the air filter last checked or replaced? Could there be any mis-fuelling issue, are you the cars only driver?
