Little noises
Was it a Skoda Approved Used car? With a Warranty. Clutches are a Wear & Tear item, but with New Skoda Warranties they are not excluded. I personally think they took the p!th if they went with Clutch Packs and no Warranty Cover. If the car needs a Turbo Waste Gate, or a complete turbo just gen up on the Used Car Warranty.......... ............................... For any one with a Manufacturers Warranty, Extended 4 or 5 years even see that DSG Clutch Plates are covered.

Changing both oils in a DQ200 DSG @ 40,000 miles is going to make no difference to one having needed new Clutch packs. 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. Replacing spark plugs at 40,000 miles is to schedule and just Simply Clever. Did it at least get the Air Filter changed @ 6 years, or sooner? Some do not even get looked at for 6 years / 60,000 miles with a Full Main Dealer Service History Has it had the brake fluid changed once or even twice as per Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations, Advice or Schedule?

EV real world range and cost to charge
^^^ Tesco Club Card Reward. Spend £150 & get a £1.50 Voucher. But you can double that value with Reward Partners. (Not like when i had a Tesco Account and the First Club Cards and bought fuel and messages and paid everything and could x 4 the points value, then cut to x3, but i still paid my annual RAC using that, and sometimes had weekends away accommodation. ........................ Cost to charge UK, still some free, or 6.7 pence a kWh to some places more than £1. That might be £10 to take you 30 miles or so... An obvious point. 10% of a 60 kWh battery is in simple terms 6 kWh, where a 88 kWh battery is 8.8 kWh. So if both are getting 4 miles to a kWh you are going further in from 10% in the big battery car. (If you have only a 32 kWh battery and there is 10% only left, find a charger PDQ.) Start hypermileing, get the AC turned off and start drafting busses or lorries. A MGS5, 306 miles, 60 kWh battery. = 5.1 miles a kWh. 10% left might take you 30.6 miles, maybe more.

Potential EV virgin
The thing is they are in the Motor Trade, a customer service based supply industry, the salaries they get at different levels are advertised, they get perks, might do well, well paid, nice house nice car, not all are salespeople, there are management, could not sell Free Ice Cream, & some are salespeople, selling their personality to a potential customer, and these can be great and they stay places for years. There are many total t!ts, often in the family, married into, somehow one of the Groups insiders, and they get away with being cheeky barstewards,

Potential EV virgin
@Aspman @ MINI Dealers now they just show the cars and take orders and Deliver. You buy from MINI UK. The showroom was empty when i was in other than receptionist & one dude at a desk. I sat in a few cars, i could not find the handle to get out of the Aceman as it was blocked down low by my leg. I asked the dude if i could speak to him about the JCW MINI Electric as a buying option and a test drive. He said there were none & i could not get one and i said i would speak to MINI and arrange one, he then told me all about how the system had changed. I asked about the JCW Petrol used car outside and could i go look at it. Since i wanted a petrol car instead of my diesel. He asked was i trading that in. He then said it is not electric & i asked about a JCW Electric, and i said i know as i have a MINI Electric, he asked was i trading it in and i told him no it was a Motability car & i really like it and maybe next year i will buy it, and he told me i cant, i told him maybe they could buy it & i buy from them as the system now is, he said no way does that happen. He asked why i was looking at cars if i had one. So i asked can i see inside the USED JCW Cooper & he went and got a key, blipped out the back door and opened it. I had a look round and went in and said i will be back and try it later after i drive a JCW Electric, and asked for his card. He handed one and said, 'but i do not sell cars'. I thought not with your attitude you don't. So i had his name and his job title. It should read arse hole. So he can stick with being a Stock Controller, but he might well of got commission on the sale for Cash Money if he bothered about customer service. Not my fault the salespeople were out or off. Went round to BMW Service Centre and got my MINI serviced at appointed time, test drove the 3 MINI,s they had ready for me while car was being done. I mentioned the ARSE i had just spoken to that seemed to think i was a time waster. She asked if i wanted the JCW MINI Approved used car taken round to them to take for a day. I declined. So MINI SE, Aceman JCW & Cooper SE test driven there. So the next day i went through to MINI Edinburgh & drove a 2023 MINI Cooper JCW & a NEW JCW MINI Electric, full power & just nothing special. Petrol suspension, tyres and seats and just too hard and the Electric one was less fun than a MINI E. 181bhp.

the truth about electric cars
Rent / Lease in many many a case. Under the business. But yes there are cash buyers, i see then speccing cars @ BMW. Under 30, buying for brothers or sisters, not one the same as their uncle has. They are not interested in discussing finance.

1.5tsi ACT cambelt change interval revision?
@super717 You posted in the thread about DQ200,s that you got a letter saying @ 140,000. So not necessary because of your mileage. But that 140,000 miles in the letter is not the Skoda / VW Group advice, so was that Customer Services contractors answer? EDIT, sorry i see it was the Skoda Dealer you asked. Letter from Skoda UK though.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher & they get Stretched, like others get. As you well know very well having been a long time driver and observant. Daimler,s. Now we have VIP Minibuses / People Carriers, Converted LCV,s, ICE or BEV. Now we have so many huge things around like RR LR,s, Kia,s, Volvo,s Mercs, Audi,s, BMWs,etc etc. Seats and not boot space with many. So how much is a Skoda Superb these days, cash money? Bargains. & available.

Brake pedal crackling noise when pressed
@Dready did you not ask the service manager to ask the sales manager for a demonstrator or sales car for you to drive to see it was abnormal / faulty and not making the same noise.

Exhaust louder
I am sure it is a crowd pleaser and attracts attention.
-
Exhaust louder
You have a GPF and a Catalytic converter both getting heated up ASAP and more fuelling to do that. Even pre GPF a TSI will tick over for about 40 seconds at 1,100 rpm before dropping. PS I am slightly deaf as well, and not interested in someone else's car with all the noise and no real go. Why would anyone else be?

the truth about electric cars

the truth about electric cars
Toyota was the biggest car manufacturer in the world at points as VW Group were caught with defeat divices. There vehicles are for a global market and left and right hand drive, they will be caring about the European Market and the EU and maybe some on the UK,s right hand drive market, but they are what they are, Toyota / Lexus and mix it in with Subaru a bit, and it used to be Suzuki, & VW Group bought into Suzuki , actually learned about Small Turbos & hybrids from them, Fiat and Mitsubishi and yet were late to the party with Electrification.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher What did she opt for in the 3 weeks timeline, and was there a reason a new one was required in such a short timeline? What was the issue with getting a Hybrid which i assume was petrol and did not come with a plug?
-
the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher Now that is a whole different subject is it not. First mention on that is it not? So what has that to do with a barrel of fish or a kettle of worms. So a big sized ICE vehicle it is you want for less then £40,000. Or, splash the cash and pay an extra £2,000 maybe VED, or there are those that have Exemption from VED and coul not care less. Maybe will lease and all inclusive.

the truth about electric cars
^^^ That is you, maybe your SiL as well. But there is a seat for every bum if you look about. Small families of small people maybe just need small family cars. If Toyota does not do what is needed there are loads of Japanese or South Korean models in different sizes drivetrains, then VW Group do SEAT / Cupra, Skoda, VW, Audi, Bentley, Porsche or Lamborghini. Chose something from someone. Then we have Stellantis, different sizes, brands, models, drivetrains. World is an oyster.
