  1. If the car has been at a Skoda Main Dealer for services or anything since 2017 any 'outstanding service campaign' work should have been identified and the owner offered to have the work done. If the DQ200 in your car was one that was requiring the Software Update but never got it, there might have been issues before now. As in a leak. The Spark Plugs are one thing i would want changed even with low miles, but if there is a record of them done then fine. Pollen filter checked or replaced, same with the Air Filter, and brake fluid. Lots is about location, location, location and use etc. Miles and years for servicing and maintenance shown on a Manufacturers / Importers chart can be misleading.
  2. That was SKODA SECRET SERVICE at their best. DATA Protection, need to know, lose lips cost lifes sh!te. They can cost lives by being clueless and come away with nonsense about protecting previous owners or employees names etc. It is a Service and Warranty record and pretty important to people owning and driving cars and working on or maintaining them to be safe. They did away with Service Books and put stuff online. a person on a V5 in the UK is the Registered Keeper and not necessarily the owner. They need to be more helpful, but then the Customer Services can be anyplace in the World and Skoda seem to forget ' Corporate Responsibility. My New Year rant. They are muppets.
  3. There is no servicing of a DQ200 7 Speed DSG, at 40,000 miles, 4 years or anytime. That is the official Schedule. (2009-2012 ones had a Recall / Service Campaign where the oil was changed, 34F7, they changed the synthetic for mineral and did a software update.) ???? So since your DQ200 DSG is from 2013-2015, the question is. Was the Service Campaign '34H5' required, Started in 2017.? This is a Software Update that your DSG could have done free. Any record of it like a sticker in the Spare Tyre well. The muppet at the dealership that said leave the Oil Change until 40,000 miles probably knows nothing about that, or checked. It can be outstanding and not show here. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions '34H5' http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/422718-rapid-recall-dsg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425424-2017-another-dq200-7-speed-dsg-service-campaign
  4. @NeilMH The Official Schedule is there is no Schedule, Recommendation or Guidelines to service / oil change your DQ200 DSG. I am not surprised you were told to leave it until 40,000 miles by someone who obviously knows nothing about them. If the cost to change was £215 or even less that was no bargain, it is £215 or less more than you need to spend.
  5. I assumed the £4 was the charging at home before setting off. I am sitting charging for free just now. So off peak tariff for those with off-street parking and chargers is lovely. But for those paying 35 pence a kWh that would be 40 kWh costing £14. If getting 3 miles per kW than that gets you 160 miles, nice. But than if you then need to pay 70 pence public charging you are @£28. The thing is real world traveling many will not have a Tesla or big battery car and home charging and cheap tariffs. But that is not how those selling EV,s are spinning things. TESLA potential driver / buyers seeing news stories might be rethinking getting one. Especially if they have not off-street parking, so no home charging and the regularly pile on the miles with employers or other tax payers helping fund their transport. ......... The introduction of 28 pence a kWh for 7 kW charging over 15 mins at Tesco certainly ended the many cars being sat plugged in for hours charging free. There are the odd EV's i see paying, or like me charging free for 15 mins at time and maybe a few times. Mainly it is PHEV's i see now charging and paying to get the 3.6 kWh for less than their home tariff. (They could go to the 23 pence a kWh public chargers that are available pretty near but some seem to not be aware of them, pricing not being that clear to see.) All myself alone.
  6. Happy new year. I have never had an AC servicing on a car where the AC was working, or a top up / gas change. Never had issues ever with cars I have had other than accident damaged ones that had a professional replace parts and gas up and test.
  7. Real life where the 0-62 mph time and the very powerful bit did not matter in anyway. 'He did stick to the speed limit though'. Well amazeballs. Next time film breaking the speed limit.
  8. Scottish Government to regulate. Eventually obviously.. Expect those and such as those to have lots of meetings, but do not expect them to travel using an EV. There will be EV's in the pictures taken at the photo opportunities though. 9. The Westminster / UK Government of which there have been 3 (3 Prime Ministers) this past year had proposals for England and EV chargers. Watered down right from them first flying the kite on this. Boris bumping his gums from November 2021 so over a year ago. November 2021 https://www.gov.uk/government/news/pm-to-announce-electric-vehicle-revolution So news regarding England. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-59369715 January 2022 http://baker-law.co.uk/site/blog/baker-law-legal-blog/new-build-homes-to-have-electric-vehicle-chargers-from-2022 June 2022 http://pagerpower.com/news/new-law-to-require-new-builds-to-include-electric-car-charging-points (typo error in article on when first made public, 2021 not 2022) June 2022 http://homebuilding.co.uk/news/electric-car-charging-points-law September 2022 http://yourparkingspace.co.uk/insights/new-home-ev-charger-rules-explained November 2022 http://myerson.co.uk/news-insights-and-events/electric-vehicle-charging-points-new-building-regulation-requirements
  10. It is a perfect time for socialising and networking. http://thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-11420209/Czech-Sphinx-Daniel-Kretinsky-rubbing-hands-Royal-Mail.html Simple Man Maths. Over simplified. Royal Mail do deliver to more than just England & they do not deliver 'all the post'. No idea where the Battery replacement stuff comes from.
  11. @MortenH Welcome to the forum. Did the Dealership staff fit the wheels / tyres? Did you check what the tyre pressures were when the car was handed over and have you adjusted them to suit the load carried / weather / temperature? Remember and reset the TPMS. Best check the Transport Blocks have been removed from the front springs. Plenty threads on that if you do a search. If they find them still fitted then the car needs PDI carried out again by a competent technician.
  12. They are putting on the warranty. No point them pretending they do not know what the manufacturer's guidelines, recommendations, schedule or spec is on cars to the miles or age. If no record of being done then they need to do it. ??? Is a sales person likely to say. ' we do the least we can get away with, and no point taking my name as I might not be here next week. Pinch of salt and get it in writing what has been done and the answers to anything you ask the managers not just sales staff.
  13. ? Who is Main Skoda? Is that a particular person, if so do not be surprised at people at Skoda UK or Dealerships not knowing stuff. There were and maybe still are Skoda / VW Group main dealers that suggested and quoted for an 'Inspection Service' which was for the Body Condition Warranty'. Silly money as a Interim/ Minor Service or a Major Service includes a body inspection, but some never got main dealer services but would have an Inspection Service because they were advised to for the Warranty. So there is Oil & Inspection Services, and anyone could have an Inspection Service without having the Oil & Filter changed. Or there are Pre Sales Inspections. *** A member posted this in another thread. 'Inspection Service' is most likely an 'Oil & Inspection Service'. But one should never assume. An Oil Change Service @ £99 was being offered by some, as a Oil change between Major / Variable Services. Bottom in Green how it was up to Skoda UK changing to Oil & Inspection and Extended Scope and pricing for plugs, pollen filter etc. Before that a fixed Service price never guaranteed the stuff getting replaced but you still paid for it even if not supplied and fitted.
  14. Welcome. Is that a Fabia or an Octavia?
  15. SKY News is running a story tonight on TESLA's drivers charging or queuing to charge while travelling on the M5 on Tuesday. Coming off the M5 to charge obviously... A real world issue as so many TESLA are being bought in the UK. Holiday times, & a real world issue for others maybe with EV's other than a TESLA.
  16. Tesco or other -10*oC might still be liquid in the washer bottle. No guarantee it comes out the nozzles though, or -15*oC stuff, or -23*oC or even -70*oC. But then if you spray on a cold windscreen of -10*C or lower it is going to freeze anyway.
  17. Cars on Subscription for 1 month at a time come including the cost of charging, insurance etc. No idea how it is done. I have my credit with PodPoint that i can easily just add to with my saved card details, same with my BP account. Thankfully PodPoint is simple and quick, BP never seems to work. I would like if i did not need my phone with me and i could just plug in at PodPoint and it knows the car because i registered the VIN. Good if someone else is driving my car they can charge without a phone, my phones, my cards or even their card.
  18. 'Simply clever' would be that you put Credit on the vehicles system. Credit to the 'Micro Chip' Sim etc as you do with a Bank Card, Phone, Laptop etc. Then the vehicle pays at the charger. The DVLA can take the VED from the 'credit' on the system, or even charge for 'miles travelled' if somehow the vehicle is getting electricity from some source the vehicle can not identify. ie, a granny charger plugged in where ever. Where maybe someone else pays anyway It can be hard enough getting a charger & a vehicle to shake hands, greet each other and say 'now we are the best of buddies lets get wired into powering you up. Lets see how long it takes until chargers not fit for purpose now are replaced with what needs to be reliable chargers with good communications. Cars / vehicles do not pay at present , people or businesses do. There are plenty systems where information on bank accounts, addresses, locations etc are going about for taxation reasons. Lets see Company ICE vehicles being tracked a bit better for fuel in and miles done and business miles, and maybe even the efficiency of the vehicles / mpg. The UK Government Agencies have til the 1st April 2025 to get the VED for EV's sorted out. Then they can sort out those not paying it.
  19. Bump for the post 19th may 2017. For @mitchell76
  20. It is almost certain the water is getting trapped inside the rear door or passing inside the rear door before getting to the rear passenger foot area.
  21. The Audi might not have the Brake Lights on, my 2016 SEAT Alhambra did not have them on with 'Autohold'. (I started threads about the Autohold and brakelights. there are others) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497760-code-out-brake-lights-on-autohold Some with cars with Autohold would best have someone check, or check themselves'. Obviously if they get out the car the e-Brake goes on when they take off the seat belt or open the door and Autohold goes off.
  22. @EnterName No they do not know the vehicle at Public Chargers. Anything is possible, but in the UK the incompetents in the Government can not organise a p!ss up in a brewery, they certainly do not like anyone being able to be tracked incase it applies to them. If they could take away the Passport of anyone other than Football Hooligans or young girls that join terrorist groups they would. Time they do clamp down on uninsured or no MOT or VED vehicles filling up at filling stations that should all have ANPR cameras. EV Chargers do not even know the identity of someone tapping a Credit Card or Debit Card or a Charge Place Scotland card. It could be any ones. As to the DVLA and Database, that is crap, as to SIM cards in EV Chargers and reception, communication , that can be crap.
  23. I understand there is water, but in the back. So is it all soaked from the bulk head to the foot well behind the driver? How much rain or thawing snow have you got there? Are you fording streams?
  24. Is there really that much H20 coming in just through where the bonnet cable used to come through? Is the Undertray missing from the engine compartment? Even wading when there are floods offroad i never see engine compartments very wet.
  25. If you mean 'Hill Hold Assist' which holds the car for a few seconds when your foot goes from brake pedal to accelerator then the brake light is on because the foot is on the brake. If the car has an e-Brake and 'Autohold' the Brake lights are on when the car is held with 'Autohold'. Not when just when the e-Brake / Parking brake functioning. If you have a manual parking / hand brake you do not have 'autohold'. There are cars from the VW Group with DSG's, e-Brakes / Autohold that do not have the brake lights on when the car is sitting with 'Autohold' holding the car.
