  1. I have used K&N for tuned cars, for offroaders, where H2o and dust can be an issue. As far as Performance, and possible performance claims with K&N, there can be better air flow with a standard filter sometimes. When mechanics service emergency services vehicles with K&N filters they bin and do not clean them. You have it now so as long as the filter stays clean. Pipercross filters performed better IME. If you want more performance than you have then yes you could go with different plugs not just brands, and ignition coils, Red R8 maybe. Fit a GFB DV+diverter valve. That is the kind of stuff you discuss with the tuner / remapper really.
  2. If you want it on Fixed Service regime which makes sense with such a low annual mires it should have gone on 9,400 miles / 372 days for Hand over. They took it off Transit mode and changed it from the Variable / Flexible service of 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles so easily could have had the Tech change it again before hand over.
  3. That K&N filter might not be improving the breathing. So is it an Airbox & Filter kit meant for a 1.4 TSI? They (edit) were hopeless IME on 1.4 TSI Twinchargers at stage 1 or above and 210-220 sort of BHP, 320 Nm plus. What spark plugs are you running, Upgrading and also coils might well be the thing to go with.
  4. Is it a TDI or TSI vRS being discussed?
  5. Elon Musk's xAI super computer is accused or reported as having high polluting emission. Lots of people want to make money, even more want stuff for what they consider as cheap. That is very much a British think. All the tat that they buy from around the world be that from China, Indonesia. Natural gas, wood / paper, clothes, and electrical equipment among imports from Indonesia. All fair and well talking about stuff, but you need to consider if your purchasing & getting a bargain adds to others wealth or to terrible work conditions for a very poor work life balance.
  6. Sodium Cyanide as used for electro plating & that the cargo ship turned out was not carrying in containers that struck the tanker that was caring the barrels of jet fuel off the East Coast the other week. Sodium cyanide used in the extraction of gold and silver. Dangers every place you look. Killed on the ground or in the skies by anyone anyplace with material that come out of the ground and are traded globally. Australia likes jails and jailing the indigenous Australians. They even poisoning them to make them from having children or just to kill them. Probably Colonial Britain taught others a lot of what went on in the past and not that distant past.
  7. Terrible. And the nickle is not just for lithium batteries, for the catalysts in green hydrogen production and high performance alloys used in wind turbines and solar panels. Its really mean being green. Also being mineral or oil & gas rich and wiping out people all around the world to get the land and resources. Much of the equipment and weapons for that not just from China or Russia but the USA & the UK.
  8. Greggs no more at the Shell filling station off the A90 at Forfar beside the KFC, McD,s and the Marstons / Dunnichen Stone. No sign of the new Osprey chargers being installed. Still Angus Council chargers near by.
  9. @Aldfort I served my time as a mechanic & worked as a sprayer but having one leg for 5 decades it is a long time since i drove a manual. Bought and sold plenty though over that time. The OP or their partner seemed to have missed the clutch was on it,s way out for 4,000 miles / 6 months.
  10. Great idea being a Vlogger on busses though. Make busses cool! You can do a video every day for very little expense. No need trying to blag Media cars or Demonstrators. Choose a stance and away you go.
  11. There was a new one parked that i passed in Maroon / Burgundy / Ribena sort of colour. It looked very very smart and terrible to touch up if it needed to be. EDIT. I can not see the colour i saw as an option. Will try and get a picture later if the car i back where it was. I doubt it was a wrap but it could have been. Or maybe not a Model Y. More likely.
  12. Maybe not related but you do not mention the air filter and it being checked and clean and dry.
  13. The Up,s & downs of Electric bus fleets @Graham Butcher
  14. The good old days, reeking buses, just like Ann Gloag of Stage Coach,s old Berry Busses they used. London is not in Scotland though, and the population of Scotland is less than in London. London needs to have more Wind Farms, Solar, Nuclear, Gas Powered & Coal Fired power stations maybe, and then you can run CLEANER Busses from that energy. Maybe even more Oil Wells and Refineries. Electric Buses are now in Cities and on Routes and there are more coming. Not a recent vid.
  15. They will tell you anything regardless of it being actually true. Was this an answer from Skoda CZ?
  16. The Electric busses / coaches are here and Chargers are in and going in and the Electric HGV and LGV,s are here and the facilities for charging are going in and are already in at various locations. Applications for Battery Storage Facilities keep getting knocked back at Council Planning Meetings in Scotland. These are absolutely necessary if the excess electricity that can be generated is to be used. There is just a crazy amount of electricity available in many regions of Scotland, some quite remote and yet the turbines are turned of as not wanted by the National Grid and there is no storage locally. No battery storage or used to produce hydrogen. Home - The Centre For Sustainable Road Freight.mhtml
  17. @Lee the go live on 7th May might be coming forward. That is the machine here for putting in a new pole.
  18. Skoda have only done Semi - Automatic so DSG or Automated Manuals ASG,s in Europe from many a year now. There are 8 Speed Auto,s available in some world regions.
  19. Thats what was bound to happen. Loads and loads of punted out lease / fleet / Motability EV,s. So if really they were dead cheap for private cash buyers to go get then fantastic. It is your Pension Providers / Banks that are taking the hit, so everybody really. PS. Interest Free Loans in Scotland to buy used EV,s is a help with the use of PUBLIC MONEY. What a pity those administering the scheme could not act quick so that people could get a loan accepted and actually buy the car from a dealer / dealership that they wanted. Loans to buy dead cheap EV,s are really just a no no, unless the Motor Trade in the UK really wanted that. Maybe the Governments / Councils should be buying USED CARS with a warranty CHEAPLY for Staff / Employee use and not all the New ones they are leasing.
  20. First and foremost does anyone near Edinburgh want the job? Go ask them. I was a car sprayer. My estimate is not going to be cheap if you want a nice job doing.
  21. Not a slush box though, just a DQ200 DSG (Semi -Automatic) 7 speed twin dry clutch fitted to a 1.6 TDI CR. (absence of a Torque Converter.) A TSI might start at 1,100 and drop in 40 seconds or so to 850 rpm. In P or in N.
  22. Was the £300 discount GOODWILL! offered just because the £450 to investigate was a pith take if the OP was to get the job done after strip done. @Aldfort What is the procedure for a Pre Sale check of a 4 or 5 year old car with 32,000 miles to assess if the clutch is on it,s last legs or only good for 4,000 miles? ? If you go to sell or trade in your car and you are told there is only 4,000 miles of clutch life left will you accept less of a trade in value for your car? If SKODA UK have actually become involved and a Resolutions Manager or Communications manager gets someplace with the Dealership then good. If these are still the first and current line of contact, then they say and do some things and if they achieve getting any actions taken then fantastic.
