  1. @lol-lol 40 kWh version is not going to sell if they are not being sold in the UK are they? It will be all about what people are going to lease / rent is it not. Do many actually purchase them with the intention of them as a keeper or keeping a few years and owning? Looks like it would be good as a Light Commercial. Nice low rear access.
  2. I saw it, others saw it, we commented that it was false news at the time. We said to you your post was from the news report that was inaccurate. Nobody is saying you lied. Just now there is an actual happening rather than just a report on what was to happen, or might.
  3. You did read the report. We read the report, you were challenged as to where there was a ban. You could not find it because there was not one.
  4. @Graham Butcher You posted about it and it hadn't happened in 2024. It was not true when you reported it.
  5. It is a good idea to say what engine / gearbox, age and mileage the Octavia has done.
  6. This was he just last year. Maybe this week someone can have him sit and discuss the report by his institute that has cause the controversy. Maybe someone has already got what he has to say from him and not just a spokesperson. Maybe they can get him during one of his visits to the UK while he is not flying around the world.
  7. Simple really, Inspect them and then you will know.
  8. For countries where a warning triangle is a legal requirement. BMW / MINI still put them in cars in the UK because that is just 'Simply Clever' for not much money.
  9. Those with electricity in their vehicle will just have to make it last if they can not get charged. They might be well and truly stuffed. Just like those with liquid fuel in their vehicle, maybe full. maybe not. They might have many km,s worth, or not. If the Filling station is not pumping fuel with their own energy supply, or hand pumps then them taking cash money is no hep. Those with petrols or diesels might not have enough fuel to get home... The Truth of ICE Vehicles.
  10. Do not have a foot on the BRAKE pedal and rev it with a DQ200 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG. Holding it on the Hand / Parking brake and reving can be done as that does not disengage the drive. I doubt that would help but you know when you try it.
  11. Who, where, are you talking banks or shops. There are alarms that might be on back up battery systems, and locks that might not be. There are systems that are counting on mobile phone systems / SIMs. There were black outs, people stuck places? Where people could use stuff and do stuff they might well have been doing it. Going digital happened a long time ago. Towns in the UK have been without any electricity quite a lots during recent storms. Up in Scotland maybe the ones the longest without power. Lets see just how The City of London copes when the Cyber attacks happen. Today Harrods have been attacked. @Graham Butcher You are in a Truth about Electric Vehicle thread. Truth is many or nearly all Public Chargers require a Mobile Reception for authorisations or payment. That is an issue with power cuts, as is powering ones. Even if there is Battery storage.
  12. When did you last see a mechanical till other than maybe in some Retro Shop / theme bar? A manual Credit card imprinter?
  13. I can not imagine anyway to do different from what you are doing to reverse. What is it you are using to read the clutch temperatures? I see you are in Israel. What ambient temperature is it when reversing? ?Can you not drive up to get there and reverse back down.?
  14. 150 miles would have been possible today rather than the usual 115 or so which is as far as I expect. Getting 5 miles a kWh today doing 60 and 70 mph roads and 17.5 degrees C. Not bothering with AC on, just setting at 16 degrees C in car. Free charging would have been nice at Stracathro Hospital near Brechin but that must need luck with one post and 2 ports. 3 hours max charge time except for NHS fleet .
  15. @jamie_52 Good luck with it. I hope the Master Tech is going to be checking it out and doing the service again themselves if needed. Odd the Filter not listed, why would it not be listed but she knows it is done. Well i suppose she asked. Not good for Service & Maintenance History if they do not list parts / consumables used. ? How many UNITS of oil do the have on the invoice or is it showing litres?
  16. I charge to 100% in the MINI and regenaration braking is still available. In some other EV,s i have driven and in the Corsa Electric i had there was no Regen Braking for a few miles if the battery was at 100%. The new MINI 99% & Pre Heating / Cooling battery.
  17. Those with the most seen to make the least financial sacrifice or lifestyle changes. The con is the green washing with tree planting and offsetting carbons. Carbon trading and so much more. Done with tax benefits from the treasury / public purse. The flights and travel and 11 minutes up to the edge of space type guff is a nonsense. The COP stuff is a pure pith take.
  18. Scone park and ride so the other side of Perth and would be handy for those coming or going across from Forfar / Aberdeen direction or those going towards Blairgowrie and north to the A93. Chargers have been in for over 1 year. Never been switched on.
  19. Broxden Park & Ride Perth. 35 miles driven to get here and charging at not off peak hours. £4.54. 8.1 kWh. Tesla cheaper than Perth Council chargers down the brae as £1 for the first kWh there.
  20. @dasauto you seem to just do any old thing that suits you. Are you still getting your advice from dodgy sources?
  21. @Graham Butcher That is the news story. That is what we are talking about. I miss what your point is. That is the facts. Your reasons for this happening was your educated or uneducated guess. Like many people who are just bumping their gums without the actual information.
