  1. @jamie_52 Quite possibly the refill of the oil was done wrong. When a competent tech redoes that they will know. Was the Filter getting replaced or did they say that was not til the 2nd service of a DQ381. How many miles has the car done, and how much were they charging for the DQ381 DSG Service? ............. OT, just being nosy, Was the VAQ diff serviced @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or at anytime.
  2. @Graham Butcher I watched the news and listened to the radio. People were eating at places that had their own solar and battery storage. Off the grid. What has that to do with the price of bread? Or anything to do with your conclusions.
  3. Why do Spain waste their time with experts @Graham Butcher when you can tell them what went wrong?
  4. It seems then that the Grid Operators are accepting that they run a system not fit for purpose and that they knew for a long time needed upgrading. The Renewables have been getting built and providing the electricity for many years.
  5. Sir Tony Blair required his THINK TANK the Tony Blair Institute to come up with a report that he could write the forward for. They might be right. (Well left wing.) Maybe they could think about Sir Tony Blair and his support of Israel and its affect on the people they kill and maim. Sir Tony B liar is as relevant to Net Zero or other world affairs as Gordon Brown or even Sir Keir Starmer.
  6. If you are ruling then out of the sweepstake I will guess water pump.
  7. It will help others when they know it is a 1.4 TSI DSG. I looked at your profile to see that. All out of tea leafs to read and help guess what is wrong. ? When was it checked and you know it was at the correct level. Keep it topped up until you get where you are taking it. Radiator, or a hose / clamp, maybe not the water pump, hopefully a cheap fix.
  8. The Recommended oil was 5w 30 FS III so VW504 00 / 509 00 which is Long Life oil, but the 1.0 MPI Citigo,s never had the code for Fixed / Variable Servicing so VW502 00 was and is OK for the Fixed Oil and Filter services. I expect your oil is and will be perfectly fine as it does the job it is there for. ? How many miles are you going to be doing from the last Oil & Filter Change?
  9. I am pretty sure that it will be the lack of investment or being slow in updating the grid and not the drive to net zero and more renewables. The failure will very probably have been the same with Nuclear or Gas generated electricity in Spain or Portugal. As is being said by other experts that seem to not excite MYGUY as much as those he picks. If or when the UK,s NATIONAL GRID has a major failing or outage it will be for the same reason. Energy companies are taking huge profits, as is THE NATIONAL GRID,s owners / investers without INVESTING enough in the TRANSMISSION INFRASTRUCTURE.
  10. @db-skoda DSG Clutch plates. In the 6 speed wet clutch DQ250 DSG..
  11. ? @Scott_4x4 have you seen the post above yours by @Meyannos EDIT. I missed your Edit, sorry.
  12. It is a Skoda Issue. Very much with Superb & Octavia.
  13. Welcome. If it runs OK and everything works then fine. The Haldex Works. Have parts been replaced and now good for many more km? Brakes, Suspension / steering parts. I assume there is a record of servicing and maintenance carried out over that 1/4 of a million miles.
  14. There have been no Super Fast Chargers available between Dundee & Aberdeen when on the A90. There are ones on the Aberdeen by pass if turning off before Aberdeen. The Osprey Hub is not built yet at Forfar. There is a new Hub planned near Stracathro Services by Po Go Charge with 10 chargers. This will be ideal for those not just travelling the A90 but getting charged before going towards Deeside & the Cairngorms via the Cairn O Mount. Fettercairn to Banchory B974. (Not much in the way of charging about and no superfast)
  15. @wyx087 Is it not enough if you just want to plug in a 3 pin plug extension cable to boil a kettle or run a fridge or lights? The necessity in the UK is a FM radio running on batteries or a wind up one. PS. Edit. Got you. Plugging into the car direct is V2L.
  16. Are we talking the cars Service Interval as being on Fixed so @9,400 miles / 372 days. (Skoda dealers will usually put a Service in 10,000 mile Sticker.) Is it running 5w 30 FS III so VW504 00 / 507 00, long life oil? I would not worry on a car already 12 years old if going a bit over 10,000 miles before the Oil & Filter change.
  17. @rit Are you often going flat out on an Autobahn and then coming to a standstill? Even on a scorching summers day in the UK & if you pull off the motorway the turbo will be just fine when you turn the ignition off, or a car with stop /start turns it's self off.
  18. A BEV with V2H will be handy in Spain or Portugal as long as the car was charged up and you are not wanting to travel abour.
  19. Welcome. The thread was started 2 years ago and the last post was back then.
  20. More likely the water pump. See the other posts on that for a Twincharger. Then if you used the amount of oil posted about very possible 1 plug is fouled. ? Have the 4 spark plugs been out and inspected?
  21. @Services / in for warranty are they not doing inspection of the brakes? Warranty costs. (well prices given) Very high because the cost of parts is ridiculous.
  22. I like in white.
