Tick over speed change
Was that AC on and 1,000? Seems a but high if it sat at that with DSG in N. Is the 750 rpm an issue for you. Engine ticking over rougher? Is it 750 rpm with AC on and DSG in N and the same when in D and foot on brake pedal?

the truth about electric cars
Not just about BEV,s, more to do with being realistic. Or waking up and seeing the light, or the dark. The weather change is not enough to have more walking or cycling and public transport gets worse for provision and cost. Yet another Wind Farm could or possibly could provide electricity for half Scotland's homes. That will be possible buy now with all the onshore and off be about 10 times the amount of homes could be using renewables in Scotland if the wind blows, the hydro generates, the sun shines and the power grid could cope. Still the electricity is damn expensive. (There is still a nuclear reactor that can supply 75% of Scotland,s homes, but very obviously does not as that electricity goes south, maybe even to overseas countries. )

Skoda Rapid 1.2 Tsi 2015 hot engine start problem after a road trip
Can we assume the Air Filter is new or very clean and the airbox checked for nothing obstructing, no mouse nests?

Rear light in daylight
@JuSko The issue really is AUTO headlights. So many actually do believe in reduced visibility, others visibility of the rear of their car that Tail lights / Side Lights / Position lights have come on and Side Lights & Dipped headlights at the front. No idea where you get your idea about what others are doing as far as AUTO, maybe than seeing cars without appropriate lighting for the conditions / weather / lighting / visibility. Plenty drivers take responsibility for their driving, seen and be seen. Turn on lights manually and know they are on. Too many idiots are out and about with just front DRL,s on.

Tow bar bike carrier queery
Do you have a light socket and lights on the Bike Carrier? The cars knows it has something on it rear if you do. Emergency braking can be a god send when your mind lapses and you forget the bikes are sticking out.

Clutch failure at 36K
The manufacturers warranty covers Manufacturing Design, Manufacturing, material faults but excludes Clutch Wear & Tear. The Approved Used Car Warranty on a 4 or 5 year old car is what it is. Is there a Design, Manufacturing or material fault or just a vehicle that might have had hard use but low miles with the previous keepers? Was the car a 'Demonstrator / Ex Managers daily before the first private buyers. They put a Approved Used Car Warranty on cars with FMDSH or no FMDSH or Servicing not even to the Manufacturers recommendations, guidelines or specifications / schedules.

High mileage Scout - worth considering or not?
It is a 2015 so a 6 speed DSG, and the oil is to VW504 00 / 507, Long Life, which will be 5w 30 FS III but can if wished 0w 30 FS III. No DQ381 or VW508 00 / 509 00 in 2015. PS We are in a whole new world, Real women or trans, or non-binary can keep old cars running well, even be technicians.

Clutch failure at 36K
The car is 5 years old, had done 32,000 miles and with the OP or their partner another 4,000 miles. It is not a warranty issue is it? Also not a cash cow for a dealership. The first quote on £450 to dismantle, inspect, diagnose , shows they treat it as a nice little earner.

Sump Replacement
If the corrosion is from the outside (Just above the ground and gets covered in salt from winter roads.) then it can be protected with Anti rust, or when new Paint / Protective coatings. I have had the rocker cover rust on an engine. Top of the engine, oil coated inside, corroding from the outside.
-
Clutch failure at 36K
They have 1 hours labour & VAT then to have it in bits. That is not £450. How much to fit the new clutch if that is what it is, or is it a fly wheel or more. The Technicians knows do they not what the fault is by now?

Anyone remapped a 1.5TSi to imporove driveability?
What is the point of the ACT not functioning? It makes no difference or nothing negative if the accelerator pedal is getting floored.
-
Clutch failure at 36K
The Skoda Extended or Used car Warranty has it's Terms & Conditions. Read them. As to Clutch Wear & Tear. There is certainly no need to charge £450 to diagnose the issue and then say not covered by the Warranty. If they are going to do the clutch job then that is the Rate to charge, parts and labour. Best get a Independents quote for a Clutch replacement.

the truth about electric cars
Re UK Politics & Party donations. If people open their eyes then they might see. The blinkered people need to open their mind and use the brain they were born with. See what is out at sea & comes from under the sea etc.

Aero Wheel Covers
^^^ Good that that function works to give you forewarning. If you carry a spare battery with you it can be long enough before it even needs to be used.

the truth about electric cars
@EnterName Very likely i never read what you went through with me, or ignored it as like much you write it will have been guff. ? What thread was that in and when? If i go quiet on a subject or something you post it will be because i can not be bothered with a nut job. Co2 is not an issue for those with their head up their own arse. .............. We might look see and worry about the same things as in the past as predictions seem to have been correct. Your 'We' that are seemingly not bothered by anything are special cases. Trumpian types.

Clutch failure at 36K
There are ones that have failed a lot sooner. If you have from new you know how driven from collection, or how you drive. USED cars you have no idea how the car was driven.

the truth about electric cars
More and more farms around Scotland are growing crops just to produce gas to generate electricity. Also growing for Bio-mass. Several near to me. Pays more than growing food for humans or animals. Not just a South American thing.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Or a really small Super Charger location like Aberdeen. But as the Charger Hubs grow it is the BEV,s not growing in numbers as expected and then the crazy high prices at other than TESLA Superchargers drawing people to them.

About to buy an Octavia IV FL
@rafal_j In which country?

Hi. Need your help guys as Skoda dealer refuses so.
? What is the average speed showing while getting below 50 mpg?

EV real world range and cost to charge
The costs quoted must be how much it cost for the Tesla during driving & filling up at the end, and filling the BMW up. (No idea how much it cost to be fully filled up or charged before starting off.) Charging at Lands End will not be cheap if not a Tesla Super Charger. Nice when you get to a Super Charger that it is plug in immediately and get to your eatery and all the time is charging. No queuing on an Easter Holiday weekend etc. £39 if 50 Pence a kWh is 78 kWh, 440 miles would be 5.6 mile a kWh. £39 if 45 pence a kWh is 86 kWh, 440 miles would be 5.1 mile a kwh. If you were paying 70 pence a kWh and getting 5.1 miles a kWh that is £60.20 Other than a Tesla, maybe getting 4 miles a kWh and paying 65 pence a kWh, 17.6 is 110 kWh. £71.50 Diesel 144 pence a litre. £6.54 a gallon. 440 miles with 50 mpg is 8.8 gallons. £57.55 440 miles with 55 mpg is 8 gallons. £52.54 440 miles with 57 mpg is 7.7 gallons. £50.36 No idea the actual costs for the Diesel as it could be less than the average with the chance of buying at cheaper places. Like the Tesla might not be always getting to Cheap Time Super chargers.

the truth about electric cars
@EnterName Will be right. (Right Wing.) It is a Leftie Woke Internet myth about Carbon Dioxide. It obviously falls off the edge of the flat earth so can not be above the earth.

1.4 TSI Coolant leak ! Common places too look
The 1.4 TSI 132 kW Twincharger is a timing chain. But the Water Pump is belt. Best get good parts and have the job done only once. Plenty have had to have the job redone.
