Upgrade Exhaust System, Tips?
Welcome. Discuss with the person that writes the remap or is applying it. Tuning and part upgrades is the way they earn their living and they are best place to know what works, or they should be. Do the 1.0TSI's in Chile have a GPF and what fuel are they running on? Do you have restrictions legally as far as emissions with what you can do as far as mods? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/470749-10-tsi-remap-success http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433171-modifying-your-fabia-mk-iii/page/42

Tyre Pressure when Towing
Thank goodness for Braked trailers. There is a difference in towing braked and unbraked trailers. But then that shows in what a vehicle can tow unbraked.

Brake pads thickness when new. 2.0tsi hatch 190 sportline 2020
The manufacturer's service requirements is the oil and filter change @2 years and milage. Buy the pollen filter from the parts desk then, tps or whoever or pay the £35. No need to argue brake thickness. Ask them to tell you the actual measurements if they say 20% worn or 80%. You just ask to talk to a master tech not a receptionist. If you pay full cost and a premium for simple inspections do at least get good customer service. Get the body inspection, the roadtest, the reports, the diagnosis etc etc. That is why they are charging so much. All for a FMDSH. Specs of pads / discs are there for an easy check. http://opieoils.co.uk

Tyre Pressure when Towing
Towards the Eco pressure it shows on the filler flap for a loaded car and the tyres your car has. If that feels wrong you can let the pressure down a bit. That would be setting them when cold, but setting them cold depends on what the weather is at that time, low teens or high 20's.

Brake pads thickness when new. 2.0tsi hatch 190 sportline 2020
Tell them you have changed the Pollen / Cabin Filter and leave alone. Go to a local Motor Factors and buy one. Have a look at your brake pads and see the wear on them now. ? How many miles has your car done? Why waste money on an Oil & Inspection Service if you can do stuff yourself? If you need an Oil & Filter Service get that. If you need an Inspection then go where you trust if you do not know what is what. Change the Pollen filter, or clean it out if dry, vacuum it, vacuum the area, wash and disinfect. It is a 2 year thing or sooner. Check your Air Filter. It is a 6 year thing, check it annually. ....................... A 1st or 2nd Service @ 2 years old is virtually nothing, and the Pollen Filter cost at a Main Dealership is ridiculous.

Skoda Electric Models
Going to get them noticed just like Ford did with colours back when they launched the Escort RS's. They are still desirable, not sure these will be in 50 years.
- Oil level - is this possible

Cupra Born
I await a motoring journalist driving an EV when the weather is really really hot & just keeping the AC off and cooking / sweating inside the car and finding out that really the AC on is not reducing the cars efficiency that much as in the miles per kWh, it is the ambient temp affecting the batteries which really prefer being driven about near 20*oC more than 30*oC.

TDI MPG shocking 😳
@bmask90 Some clues on length of trips from cold start that gives 30 mpg or an indicated 30 mpg would be a good idea and what the displayed MPG is on trips of maybe over 40 miles and would it use an actual gallon of diesel to do 40 miles in one trip. ? How many miles has the car done? Have you had a look in the airbox at the condition of the airfilter? EDIT. I see now 80,000 miles. How long have you had the car? PS. ? Has the car had the DSG serviced twice now as the DSG oil changes are due @ 40,000 miles.

"moan" when braking, especially in the wet and shaking under braking
Crud. Surface rust / corrosion. Discs or pads or both. Look at / inspect the brakes. Servicing pre or post winter is a good idea, strip, clean and grease. and brake fluid change recommendation is at 3 years & then each 2.

Polestar 2 Reveal & 7 minute recap.
- EV real world range and cost to charge
- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
My car has surprised me today. I parked it last Sunday morning and have not used it until today. It was at 30% and 37 miles then and exactly the same today. It was a roaster of a week and so different from times in the past when parked up in cold weather and the car was always doing Over Air Updates and resetting to factory settings. So car is 2 years old in August and actually built about 30 months ago as it was caught up in lockdown. It had done over 28,000 miles. The disc brakes are a rusty mess. The first service was not correctly done. The 2 nd service will not be done if the Vauxhall dealer can not decided if there is one due and can they do 4 outstanding recall actions and supply an automatic courtesy car. As it is I think they will ruin the car. If it could go 50 miles further it would be good and if I took off the winter tyres it might do 20 more miles but I am not doing that. Going to miss it in 1 year if it goes back then which it will have to. I want a EV van but probably will not get a 200 mile range one and it needs to be a People Carrier from Motability where the seats can come out probably. Time will tell. For comfort the Corsa is my ideal. I do not like a Mokka or the other taller cars from Stellantis. Other thoughts are Kia Soul but more likely a MG estate.- Tyre Sealant recommendations
- Terraclean Direct Injection Cleaning Service - Any Good
A Service History should show the history, if no invoices or online record of plugs being changed i would not assume they were replaced. Worth looking at the top of them and see if there is a new look to them. ? Have you looked in the Air box to see what the air filter looks like and if nice and clean? ? Was the Brake fluid changed at 3 years or now at 5 years for the 1st time? It should at least be tested. It is Guidance / Recommendations and no guarantee that a FMDSH has had servicing done to the recommendations.- Terraclean Direct Injection Cleaning Service - Any Good
@Napastareven though the car is only 5 years old and 37,000 miles the Skoda / VW service recommendation on the spark plug change is at 4 years / 40,000 miles so that is where i would put money into the servicing spending in the not too distant future. Have a look about the bores at that time maybe.- Can Skoda add?
@Phuttersthanks for explaining. I understand. The situation is that the main dealerships management accept that the service desk are what many are and have little knowledge of the vehicles. It really is no great mystery as only the Citigo has left the factory in the EU not on a Variable service in over the past decade.- Dangerously close... maybe I'm more of a petrol head than I thought.
£18.63 divided by 193 pence a litre for diesel is 9.65 litres, 105 divided by 2.1 gallons, = 50 mpg. .................... PodPoint 50kW chargers are still @ 28 pence a kWh where i go Tesco / Lidl etc, which is nice if needed. 30 kWh of a charge would be only £8.40 32.71 kWh for £9.16- Can Skoda add?
But it can be 372 days on some Skoda when you reset. Then during Covid the on-time / by miles servicing went a bit lax so plenty cars are not serviced to recommendations , guidelines or specifications if people are checking service records.- E5 or E10?
- Dangerously close... maybe I'm more of a petrol head than I thought.
@ColinD With Polestar / Volvo you get the discount charging @ Ionity and i understand from @domhnallposts / vids with the card from Skoda. Others will know who else does this.- Can Skoda add?
@Phutters What is the reason for the groan this time? & the last time. Is there no confusion of Skoda / VW's making?- Terraclean Direct Injection Cleaning Service - Any Good
Does your car have the issue? ? How many miles done? IMO, Save money by buying E5 petrol and driving your car and giving it nice up to temperature runs, replace plugs and filter and run it for many miles / years.- Can Skoda add?
VW have never had IT Geniuses and then they had a cunning stunt and took IT in house. So now you have the new mess they are in. The Variable Servicing is 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles so that is where the 10,000 mile idea comes from. As to being on Fixed Servicing and you have a car with Long Life oil and it can be 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months to change the oil then good. But the Warranty has about servicing and the websites about 1,000 miles past a service due etc. So that is a co-ckup as usual. Because someone changed a car to Fixed Servicing because it suits dealerships. Or Service Plans, or actually some customers / owners / fleets.- fuel consumption
Luckily in Ayr good choices, there is Tesco for 99 & Sainsbury for 97 so E5 and flat forecourts and just E10 with them and ASDA / Morrisions for the cheapness. - EV real world range and cost to charge
