  1. Nicked from another thread and members post. A Software Development team member.
  2. Not many of them about so if a good one then best not hesitate. If the dealership can not give the 2 service deal T&C,s that is because they are not trying. The threads are on here from others that had to force the point with Skoda UK. The terms exist. (They must know stuff as salespeople or they might by accident mis-sell stuff, stuff that are financial agreements & that can bite them in the bum.)
  3. This might help with Real World if Real World is what Briskoda members post they get with a 1.5 TSI Not all DSG's or AWD's. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/502873-15tsi-mpg http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/451889-15tsi-dsg-mpg There are lots of Karoq 1.5TSI DSG MPG threads just on Briskoda.
  4. So Quick Shift / Short Shift conversions are not uncommon and AF have it in their 'Declared Mod blog'.
  5. @Mark@Hx They do not just employ anyone at Skoda / VW Group main dealers. There has to be certain criteria they meet.
  6. Best say what you have. Is it the 2.0 TDI manual?
  7. The little extra weight of the Haldex and Wet Clutch DSG should not make much difference. Putting people and stuff in a car or the difference in the weight of drivers can be having more affect on fuel consumption. Then there are differences on Wheels / Tyres, size / width. PS Check the tyres on the car you are looking at and if you need to fit All Weather tyres check the cost of the size needed for the wheel size.
  8. The Button to switch off Stop / Start if you want it off.
  9. @newowner441 How many miles on the car you are looking at? Check if it required software updates because of the Kangerooing issue some had. That is regardless of being a FWD or AWD one. What Servicing has it had so far and before delivery used, or any warranty work? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503171-approved-used-service-history Ask them to confirm in writing on the 2 Services because i suspect it will not include the Haldex or the Brake Fluid change or other stuff over and about 1 Oil & Filter Inspection Service and 1 Oil & Inspection Service with Extended Scope. So in writing what it include cover over and above these Services on a Fixed Service Regime. As well as the Pollen Filter, is it Spark Plugs, Air Filter by mileage covered at these 2 services?
  10. Just goes to show that Admiral are not worth using. I hope they committed that to paper.
  11. 11kW charging with a Mini Electric does work for those just needing a bit of a top up & there is no Rapids available and better than a 7kW like i have giving just 1.1 kWh per 10 minutes. I hope that the new MINI Electric will be out by the time i am changing cars, just as long as the battery is bigger.
  12. Welcome. Others might help on the fuel economy. Be aware that the Haldex AWD system needs serviced each 30,000 / 3 years or sooner. The DSG will be at 80,000 miles not @ 40,000 what wet clutch DSG's usually require, but check that. The FWD 1.5 TSI with a DQ200 DSG requires no Haldex or DSG Servicing.
  13. There are only 2 posts, 4 plugs for 22 kW. Parking all day when the battery is full in under 3 hours is just lack of thought / ignorance really. There are 6 7kw chargers sitting and seldom used as any regular user at the hub knows and that anyone abandoning their car for all day should maybe think about.
  14. A Mini Electric can charge at 11kWh on a 22 kWh charger. This one was on just over 2 hours yesterday and was fully charged, another car was at the other 22 kWh post and the usual Nissan Leaf was plugged into the 43 kW charger of which there are 4. The MINI has been there over 24 hours and is not charging. Not really an issue unless the hub gets very busy this weekend. If it does someone might try removing the charging cable at the MINI if they want that socket. . Or maybe the driver might return and move the car.
  15. Depending where in the UK you are Esso Super unleaded might have up to 5% bioethanol. There are areas with no Ethanol in it The areas where it does not are where Greenergy do not supply it. The areas where it has are where Greenergy supply Tesco Momentum 99. Greenergy are part owned by Tesco PLC and partnered with Shell for importing and storing fuel. The little extra cost between Tesco E5 99 Ron min and E10 95 Ron if only 5 pence a litre can be money well spent. Momentum if costing less than Esso 99 can be money well saved.
  16. It does not get around warranty issues because it is not Factory approved software, engine management or hardware. But if no manufacturers warranty no issue. But anyone elses warranty might have a loss adjuster check your insurance and a declared Tuning box fitted. As well to get a remap done, declared on the insurance and if anything goes wrong pay up yourself for repairs.

@Previouslyrobygerrardhow many miles has the car done already that matters for the Oil and filter service, and an inspection services is done then. It is one visit and one workshop action. Best you speak with the Dealership you are going to use. Best if that was the one that maybe had a staff member set the Service Indicator wrongly. The Oil Change is due by the miles / date of the setting of the Service Indicator at the PDI. So on Variable servicing that might be between 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months. The Oil Service Indicator might well not have been correctly set / Reset from arriving at the dealers in Transit Mode. There really are not just OIl Services and then Inspection Services. It is an OIl & Inspection Service at the same time. Are they really doing a first service now @ 2 years and another in another 2 years, or are you having one at 3 years before the Warranty Expires, the MOT is due and when stuff is due on a 3 year old car. PS. @ 3 years there is the Extended Scope service actions which should be included in what you paid in the deal you got.

Correct it never did. It sometimes is what brings in new technology. This hybrid thing is just a mess really.

Welcome. That is good because it is stored ready for an emergency. If you fit it and wanted to let it down a bit you can, but if the pressure is low inflating it needs a means of doing that. 4.2 bar is just an ickle above 60 psi.
  20. Thanks. 24 x £12.75 =£306 Oil & Inspection service x 2 £370. Extended Scope £60 Air Filter £45 Pollen Filter £35 Total £510, but that is crazy prices. Brake Fluid if not changed should at least be tested for H20 content. @ 5 years old by Skoda Recommendations the 2nd Brake Fluid change is due. So appropriate servicing should mean it at least gets tested.
  21. 10 kWh @57 pence a kWh £5.70. 3.5 miles to a kWh x 10 = 35 miles. 4.5 miles a kWh x 10 = 45 miles for £5.70. Still less than a petrol of diesel unless you have an efficient one. Looking forward to the painless experience sometime. Maybe local to me soon. That will be were there is good phone reception and the Shell Recharge system is actually funtioning.
  22. I will use them if I need to even at 57 pence a kWh. Totally avoiding now counting on BP Pulse and trying to get charged even paying 50 pence a kWh. My choice is to get on a PodPoint 50 kWh charger. Sadly where I need them there are not many. Never managed to get a Shell Recharge to actually give a charge yet. InstaVolt so far for me has been the easiest turn up, tap card and get charged.

Trendy 'Green changes' are what motorsport needs to do to stay getting any support from governments or manufacturers. It does not matter if it is load of b0ll0cks and nothing to do with Road Driving and showroom cars, but then Motorsport in general has little to do with road cars and the general public's cars.
  24. @D402 Can i ask how much that plan is costing you? & at what age of car and at how many miles is your car now? What servicing was previously done pre Extended scope and oil and inspection service? Extended Scope comes up every 3 years. So would pollen and air filter get changed on all 3 year old petrol cars if the had a service plan? That is not to Skoda / VW recommendations or schedule. The pollen filter is due at 2 years. The air filter would be at the 2nd Extended Scope so at 6 years, maybe 60,000 miles.
  25. That is what they do often. HINT and get local news coverage then get caught themselves over the speed limit with no excuse. Chief Constables are as unreliable as public busses, and get changed regularly.
