Fuel filter
There is maintenance of Filling Station Pumps and filters in them. Very surprising that the metered fuel is getting through and into the vehicles tanks in the UK. Unless you own a car from new you are unlikely to be sure where the fuel that went into a vehicle came from, possibly more so with a diesel that might have had a fill up from a tank set up in a yard someplace to gravity feed vehicles.

driving lights led swap.
So it is DRL's being asked about. As in Daytime / Daylight running lights. On with the ignition to the front. Maybe Bright when no Sidelights / Headlights on but not when they are. Mandatory fitted from the factory in the EU including UK from 2011, but only on new Type Approved cars so even Mk3 from 2014 did not require them as standard.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
Height was not an issue as I have a Shogun van. High, high seat & tall windscreen to see out. Lots of cars have too low a screen if the seat is set high or even at it,s lowest. I have only a left leg and use standard pedals so that i can drive any auto, never used pedal conversions for decades now. That does not suit a Duster, not a Octavia or many other cars. Fine with a Fabia and various cars though. Even a Yeti is not great because of the inner sill. People get to know what suits their needs for different times of a week or year or whenever for what ever. Easy in and out is not the whole story. Lower roofs can suit carrying stuff on racks while loading a SUV / crossover / talk 4x4 can be less handy.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
The issue for me was the seating position in a Duster Automatic, it just did not suit me. I looked at one when i got rid of my last Jimny after having driven them for 18 years.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
@AnnoyingPentium I have been toying with getting a Logan for a couple of years because i know people with them as load luggers. I might well get one in the near future as i am planning and getting shot of my EV as getting to be a PITA and also might get rid of my diesel van. I still need a bike carrier and the estate will do that job. I had an Alhambra previously for that. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/391938-is-dacia-the-new-skoda/page/6

This EV driver in the article used to often be charging locally at the same time as me is using the press to get out his discontent. Knocking his head against a brick wall i feel and since he can charge in Dundee for a bit less then fair enough. I wonder when i will see him doing his charging free a mile from his home at Tesco to top up from the electric used getting home from Dundee. https://thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/angus-mearns/2724381/electric-car-driver-dundee-charges-protest/ The day the photographer took this picture which was for a previous article the charger was actually not working but then that is neither here nor their. Paying for a service and getting a rather unreliable service because of a poor maintenance set up and the poor performance of the administration is an issue IMO.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
@DavidYMk1,2 or 3 Fabia Estates used as Taxis are rare because they are not really a vehicle that can carry 4 or 5 adult people in comfort for that long. Useful cars they are and will continue to be and often it might be smaller people like children that spend time behind a driver. Many are only getting occasional use of rear seats by 1, 2 or 3 people or the rear seats are never used as with lots of 4/5 seaters. Personally a grand child in a Child seat could not have their legs / feet comfortably out behind me when i have the seat right back. They can be Dog carriers, bike car & carriers of all sorts and and not that long a vehicle. There is a reason that Octavia and Superbs are used as taxis / private hire cars and airport transport and that is carrying people as well as luggage ect. Then they are a Family size car and adult carrying size car with all seats occupied. The loss of a Fabia size estate as a choice for those wanting this class of vehicle is a real shame IMO. There are reasons that people have not gone for a Fabia over an Octavia Estate over the past 2 decades and that is because they wanted something a bit shorter but still an estate car. Many do move on from a Fabia to an Octavia as their needs change over time, many just stick with a Fabia as that does all they need of a car size / space wise. Estate cars can be handy as a works / Light Commercial Vehicle or for use by trades people and there will be a few available for awhile as new cars and then there are enough on the roads new that there are used ones available for a good few years yet. People might well use Octavia estates as their works vehicle / van or camper etc, as people do with Superbs, Roomsters or even Yeti's.

Moving from an ICE vehicle to an EV - my first 1000 miles and observations on The Good and The Bad
@lol-lol Less than having Subscriptions on Streaming etc. Less than some pay a year for a Mobile Phone. Less to have a Vehicle you own kept road legal than many spend buying a take way hot drink each day.

I have not logged in at the charger @ Tesco 4 times because just sitting for 15 minutes. That is about 70 kWh free electric this month from them & another 60 kWh on CPS Chargers so 130 kWk x 2.5 miles per kWh is 325 miles of not buying petrol or diesel. Not buying HotDrinks / Softdrinks , munchies or other such while charging as many do. I have bought both petrol and diesel to top up vehicles as they are sitting not getting used other than for the odd mile being done. MOT due on my Diesel next week. It has only done 400 miles since the last MOT. 2019

Electric is what is used to power the various features and the vehicle. It is electricity that powers them with an ICE vehicle as well but the liquid fuel providing the energy to move the vehicle to provide / generate the electricity. Many of the features now on any new cars on sale become compulsory fitment from the factory next year on passenger cars regardless of which fuel powers them. PS, it is nice that it is possible to go get electricity for FREE to power your vehicle and the components. Or even just cheap electricity. No place I know is giving away petrol, diesel or LPG to the general motoring public to do their journeys.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
That is Because of the Deals they got on Skodas and the pathetic charging setup but that will change. It is the same around here with Skoda but then people are changing. The EV Taxi Fleet & Courier & Carry Out deliveries in Dundee are as it is because of the ease of charging. Not many doing Airport Transfers unless Teslas though. There are not many Superb IV's about as Taxis are there?, Mk 3 Superbs, but not Plug In's.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
@DavidYMG Estate EV's are getting to be rather popular as Taxis and plated to carry 4 so they are just fine for rear feet space. Having a small EV does not stop me doing the same long journeys that i did in a Fabia, the difference is that i have to allow time to charge on the journey and can spend the money i never spent on petrol while on that journey. Allowing up to an hour for every 150 miles done can be a PITA though, but when you have all the time in the world it is not an issue. When in a hurry then a small EV is not that good a choice when doing 450 miles or more.

Skoda Fabia MK4 Estate cancelled ?
@DavidY Tesla have batteries under the floor with models of cars that have not high roofs or Nissan Leaf's, the Peugeot e-208 / e-Corsa have batteries under the seats and are not as high as a Fabia, but have not that great a range. A Mk4 Fabia hatch or estate EV would have been a perfect size of EV for many and could have had a 200 mile range. Maybe not with 4 adults and luggage in the boot, but then many of the Crossover EV's are no better. EV MG Estates are a good value vehicle and now the long range will suit many. As it is VW Group are meeting their Average Emissions and saving from paying for not meeting them with the assistance of MG Motors registering enough EV's.

Whining noise 7 speed DSG
Title says 7 speed. @Geordieskoda You posted before about 1.6TDI's & DQ200 DSG's. Is this what you have. So a 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG which has no Service Schedule / Recommendations or Guidelines for Servicing? ? How many miles done?

@AnnoyingPentium A favour please. Try a 2016 VW Up! 1.0 automatic and a 2016 VW e-Up! for the difference in insurance. http://heycar.co.uk/guides/cheapest-electric-cars-to-insure http://carwow.co.uk/blog/cheapest-electric-cars-to-insure#gref You have a good Motorsports Club near you and a good track. http://eastayrshirecc.co.uk/track A Zoe would be PDG.

Different EV's are in various Insurance Groups and not just by the Power of the motors. Ones with the same power can fall into very different bands. Even ones of the same value. There are ones that have the Power / Performance figures from the Manufacturer that put them in a pretty low insurance band. Ones can be the same power / performance but lower trim and in a lower band. A low priced EV can be a nippy car compared to the ICE version, but not cost more to insure.

Warning light
Sorry, i did not see it was a 4 year old car when reading on a phone and not looking at the Members profile. I wrongly assumed it was just still under the Manufacturers Warranty.

Warning light
Worth calling 'Skoda Assist', as a driver with a 'Warning light' and no knowledge of cars other than reading the Owners Manual so you are concerned about is it safe to drive. They can send out a 'Responder' / Tech to read fault codes and maybe even carry out a repair but at the least have the Codes Logged, even have a Courtesy Car arranged while your car gets attention at an Approved Repairer.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
Only 20 hours but sitting over a coldish night and 3*oC this morning. This is what the Battery level is showing without plugging in to charge. I will do that later.

Tyre pressures MK Superb
@MrUkSkodaDriver It is unnerving that you ran the car with low tyre pressures and there was actually a greater risk of punctures and overheating tyres. At least you know know to check and set the pressures regularly & reset the TPMS. IMO the thing about ECO pressures (ECO Tyres as well) is they are what achieves a little better economy by reducing Friction / Traction / Grip on a vehicle so maybe best avoided if grip, traction , braking distances are important which hopefully they are to drivers more than getting maybe 1 or 2 MPG more.

Bl00dy worrying to think of all these Hydrogen Airships that are going to be travelling about the UK roads sometime if Elon Musk takes us back to the future. So Elon is not going with Hydrogen until after everyone else has done because he is not.

When 150kW chargers become common and there is a price to charge on them anyplace they are in the UK which is the same then things will be moving on as it should in the UK. Then Automated Toilets beside all charging Hubs and not just a tree, hedge or Green Cabinet to try and hide behind. People will pay £1 to go spend a penny. There need to be the likes of Special Constables around the country but 'Special EV Charger Maintenance Staff' that can deal with 'minor issues' or call out the 'relevant maintenance operatives' when required and in a timely manner. Plenty 'Contractors or Trades People' even in Rural Areas that could be those 'Specials'. This is not just something needed in Scotland. The Government / Governments know the HGV / Transport Stops / Hubs are required so they need to stop planning delays and 'Local Authority delays' where they think that Local Services will suffer because Multi Nationals are going to build the facilities and their local Wealthy Family who have run stuff for years at their garages will lose out. After all they sometimes give to a local charity. 70 kWh @ 69 pence = £48.30 which is OK to be able to Hypercharge on a 350 kW charger.
